ah, microdimming is software based whilst local dimming is hardware. learnt something new today!
I have a TCL, I forget which model but its a QUHD with built in soundbar. Looks nice but…TCL TV's take forever to turn on, im talking like 40 seconds…sounds OK but its really not. Also randomly during Netflix just cuts out and restarts the TV..40 seconds again…lately just started turning the sound down…cheap tvs for a reason…will never buy again!
For Android TV it takes time to start I believe.
Hard to compare a $1000 tv with $2500 Samsung/Sony/LG ones. But still enjoyable to watch if you don't put them side by side for comparison.
Really? I have the model before this one (non android) and it used to take about 20 seconds, but after a system update, it takes around 12-15 seconds now
I feel like the TV is good build but some issues with the software judging on the issues I experienced. Specs are good and the built in soundbar is actually good quality, Harman Kardon I think. Originally I could turn off the extreme start-up time but an update about 6 months ago made this feature not work any more.
Yeah I remember reading about that feature removal.
Other than the boot times and slow menus, I find the quality to be up there with the best. (at the same price points)
