Isn't the i5-10210U pretty bad compared with the 4500U deals in the last few weeks.

    • +1

Yep and no thunderbolt BUT RX640
Its not THAT much worse given the 4500U has no hyperthreading but its still worse, it would get destroyed by the 4650U

Notebook Check a really good site for reviewing notebooks compared and Intel and AMD HP.

AMD was 1.5x faster and cheaper.

      https://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-embarrasses-Intel-with-Ryz…

  • Ive been wondering which model is better the newer AMD or the intels.
Pros are dual NVMe vs single nvme
more cores on the AMD also $$$ cheaper

    Faster RAM

    Cons are no dedicated GPU
    Soldered ram on both models??

    • +7

      This GPU is pretty weak

Rather save the money and go AMD imo

      • +2

Yeah did some checks the AMD has higher clocks but isn't multithreaded.

The AMD ryzen 5 and 7 kill the Intels in multicore tests and are on par with single core benchmarks.

      • GPU is pretty weak and AMD too, no bells and whistles like CUDA, NVENC. Anyway it is not work to have any dGPU less than GTX1050

        • What is the AMD equivalent for GTX1050?

  • Are there discounts for the upgrades, like previous Lenovo deals? It seems to add the flat value, maybe a small discount from what I can see.

I upgraded to the i7, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD and the discrete graphics card (weak as it may be) and it comes to $1466.

    • it's up to you to decide if it is a good deal for you, however +$200 for cpu, +$100 for RAM, +$100 for SSD and something for the GPU are quite common upgrade prices :)

I ordered the E15 with the AMD about a week ago and it's scheduled to be dispatched in 2 months with delivery about a week later….
    Not too happy with that

    • +1

They can't keep up with demand.

    • I had an October delivery date to start with as well, checked back this week and it's now late August.

      • +1

Same here… ordered 27-July, mine was showing October initially, now updated to 11Sept

  • Ordered an X13 with them, the delivery time changed from start of August to October. Cancelled order

    • Ordered the X13 on July 28 ("JULY" code). Missed the DHL delivery on tuesday, getting it redelivered tomorrow

      • I ordered back start of June and the delivery date was changed on 1st of August to October 20th Lol. That was the last straw.

  • +2

Cmon - any AMD deals with the X series?

  • Ordered T14 AMD with them on 15th July and received on 28th, better than the initial given ETA of 4th August

  • vega in 4700u = gt1030 = mx150 = rx550 = rx640 , i think thereabouts

    • Are you saying there is a heirachy to your list or all the same in peformance?

      • +1

        very similar performance

unless the 4700u gets dual channel and lpddr4x-4266

  • +4

    I'm trying to aim for 14", Ryzen 4, 16gb, 512 ssd, geforce 1660 for $1400-$1500 range

    • +3

Isn't that just the Asus G14… You're looking a lot more than $1500 sadly. Lemme know if there's actually anything close to that price

      • Yeah not seeing many with the new Ryzens and a good GPU sadly

        • Leigon 5?

          • +1

@bazingaa: Think they only offer a 1650ti into that not a 1660… Because screw AMD right

            • @[Deactivated]: Supposedly 1660ti and 2060 will be available in the AMD based Legions later this year. The other issue is that Australia does not have access to the 144hz high colour gamut screens like the rest of Asia seem to.

      • The razer blade 15 is pretty close, not 14 inch though but its a thin laptop.

  • If i order this without changing anything do you reckon I should expect the 15 day delivery?

  • +1

    Thanks TA, amazing as always. Ordered E15 with i7 processor (w/ AMD Radeon RX 640 2GB GDDR5) + 16 GB RAM for $1220 :)

  • It's just me that the customise page never load on mobiles?

    • works on chrome, not in firefox for me
