UNIDEN DECT3035+2 Cordless Phones $69.98 - Half Price DSE Online Exclusive

640

Half Price cordless Uniden DECT 3035 model home phone & answering machine with 2 extra handsets. Plus Free Delivery!

This is from the 3-day deals spam email - Deal ends Wednesday.

Our handset is too many years old and it is getting harder to press certain buttons so it's time for an upgrade… seems to be a good price as OW and HN have the 3035+1 for $95+ and this has an extra handset (and free delivery). With 2 extra handsets, not sure where I'll put them all, could keep one in the bathroom for all those calls I take while… never mind.

No idea if the phones are any good, the full-priced item has one review but it's not detailed enough. See comments below for some comments from ozbargainers who already own the same/similar models.

Edit: Updated expiry date, deal expires Wednesday not Thursday oops! Also they have now discounted the non-3-day-special-item down to $99 in case anyone checks in later this week and misses out.

  • Excellent price for a fantastic cordless phone…

  • Just bought as need to update my home phones. Did quick search on static ice and triple packs are at least twice this price.

  • Have these got a socket to plug in a handsfree mic ?

    • No it doesn't but the loudspeaker works pretty well if that helps.

  • I have this but it has a weird echo/feedback problem. Both the original and replacement developed the same problem after about 18/24 months. I have to powercycle it to fix it but it comes back every few days.

    • hmmm well that's something to be aware of, thanks for the info. Did you have to buy the replacement or did you get it under a warranty of some kind? I wonder if I take them into DSE will they sell me an extended warranty… heh.

      • +1

After a bit of pushing from my side I got replacement under warranty, the second one was out of warranty when the problem developed.
Good phones over all, better than most to be honest. Just a really annoying problem with this model/my two.

        • Hey i want to ask if thhis phone can use more than one handset at once while in a call.
This might be a bit confusing but, for some phones your need to "invite" or "send/transfer" the call onto another handset before picking it up while other phones you can jst walk up while someone is alread on one of the hand sets and you can walk up and jst pick up another one and start talking.

So which one is this model?

wth for som reason my comments arent appearingon the site… :S is there some kind of admin approval comment thing?

  • Good deal - I have a 5+ yo 3 handset uniden DSS set and they're well-designed and well-built. Bought mine from OW when they had a customer returned unit and dropped the price from an RRP of $279 to $80!

Batteries lose their ability to hold charge after a couple of years, but replacements are cheaply available from ebay.

    • +1

Yeah I am in the same boat with the old handset that is dying - I just replaced the 800mAh NiMH AA's with some newer ones a year or so ago and they seem to charge well enough although the battery indicator doesn't cope.

I am hoping that these Uniden ones just take AA/AAA rechargeable batteries rather than a pack with a custom connector. Would it be a waste to put in two eneloops instead of the batteries it comes with? I suppose it depends on the quality of the charger in the base station.

      • I don't think any unidens use AAA battries, you can check on website. Original uniden batteries are either $20 or $30, can't remember. gagdetcity has, i think, a 2 year warranty on their batteries.

  • Great phone, great price :)

  • Was looking for a new kit and almost bought one today. Awesome timing! Just purchased.

I know what you are asking, but sorry I don't know anything more than what's on the product page. If they deliver it by COB tomorrow I might be able to test it in time and tell you before the deal runs out on Wednesday!

Maybe @WilHoward can help with this Q? Anyone else got the 3005 model handset and able to tell us?

Posted it as a reply to his comment. Hope he checks soon :)

  • can be synchronised with BoB iiNet?

  • Bought it. Thanks for sharing. Been looking for a new one with multiple handset. Been using a single handset phone for years, and keep forgetting where I put them last time.

  • This is a sweet deal, thanks!

  • I ordered it. My handset beeps low battery after a couple of minutes. It limits who I can phone.

Keep that one for the gf/wife.

What the hell is wrong with you?! I'll see it when I see it, calm down. Spamming the same comment on all but one of my comments in this thread isn't going to get you an answer any faster. In fact, it will probably prevent you from getting an answer at all, like this…

  • Hah, I just bought this and was planning on posting it here. Low and behold, someone beat me to it.

I'm a casual at DS and $139.95 is usual in-store and online price for this model. It's been on special before for $99.95 IIRC but I've never seen it this low. This is actually quite a bit under the cost price for stores for this model, no idea what the online division would be paying.

Was considering buying it when it was at $100, now it's $66.48 after 5% staff discount :D

  • I bought a twin set of these from HN about 3 years ago. very good phones. solid feeling. love the intercom function between them. good range.

would definitely buy them again should the need arise.

      Try to RTFM https://uniden.com.au/RESOURCES_MAIN/pdfs/DECT3035_OM.pdf

"To join a call that’s already in progress, just press Talk/flash or Speaker."

"To activate privacy mode on a call in progress, press Menu/select twice.
As long as privacy mode is on, you'll see a P in the display, and no other
      handsets can join your call.

Is this what you are after?

      • Ohhhhhh smart xD thanks I should of bought of that

      Seriously, you have issues…

      • There was a post lag. LOL

my posts wont appearing after i clicked post. :L

        I think it's just a tantrum..

  • Good deal. I got the single phone version for about $35 a few months back for a friend. It works brilliantly. Also have an older 3 pack from Uniden which is great but I paid over $200 for that one. $70 for this 3 pack is a bargain.

  • do not understand why Uniden uses their own socket with two standard batteries, will be better without their own socket.

    • So that they can sell you pricey batteries in a few years ;)

  • I had a pair of Unidens before from DSE. Weren't cheap — maybe I paid too much! The main base station decided to die just after 12 months. No warranty left. Wasn't too happy with that! But maybe I was unlucky since everyone else is raving about 5 year runs with theirs :/ Just my 2c!

    • I have one Uniden sitting at home from last 3 years. First battery died after around 18 months to 24 months. Bought one from Hong Kong market while i were visiting HK for around 2 AUD. That lasted for around 12 months. Set is still pretty stable even though my 16 months old keep throwing handset and pulling cables time to time.

The only thing is battery that is expensive if you buy from Uniden. With 3 handsets, I will keep one handset for the times when the initial battery dies.

Those with staff discount cards from Woolworths gets 5% discount on the top (I just bought one).

  • Anyone know if these are DECT GAP compliant?

    • Nothing on the phone or in the manual about GAP.
DECT yes but GAP no as far as I can tell.

  • Not a bad deal, just ordered one.

  • Good Deal, ordered one yesterday.

  • Awesome deal, Ordered 2 ! :)

  • can you add additional handsets?

    • Yes you can, it uses these:
      http://dicksmith.com.au/product/F3038/uniden-dect3005-extra-…

      Uniden 3005 extra handsets

      • $40 for an additional handset isn't too bad, but a true ozbargainer would buy a second 3-pack at $70 and split them up (or just have a 6-handset kit!)

I did this years back when some old Audioline DECT single handset kits were going for $10 each at my local Telstra shop. Just reprogrammed them all to the one base unit.

        • It's almost worth buying a second set of 3 JUST for replacement batteries lol… 3x "market value" battery packs from Uniden come to $75 (or $60 with their "generous" 20% "discount")
