      • thank you, thank you..
        u r right… i need sodimm

  • I recently got PNY XLR8 RGB 32GB (2x 16GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL16 for $200 from Mwave. Absolutely love it

  • I am thinking of 32gb set up for my new pc. is it better to have 2x 16gb memory or 4x8gb memory?

    • Depends if your CPU supports quad-channel ram.
      most supports dual.

but it still slightly better if you run 2 dual at 2x8gb than 1 dual-channel at 2x16gb

      Edit: Spelling

    • 2x16GB is pretty much always better. You get an upgrade path, it's more likely to work and the bandwidth difference is negligible in quad channel, but quad channel is only supported by HEDT platforms anyway.

  • Thanks OP!

  • What would be a good mobo to pair this with a Ryzen 5 3600? Not too fussed about features like m.2 slots or being a fullsize board.

    • This is a RAM post… not a motherboard post.

      • Thank you for the motherboard suggestion below I guess?

        • +1

I'm so confused IIRC you asked "Would this be a good mobo…" but you can't possibly have edited it when I commented. Wtf. Yeah the B550M Pro4 is pretty good at $169.

  • I'm a complete noob on this and planning on my first custom build (gaming for kids). I'm seeing conflicting comments about Ryzen. Should I buy this or not? I'm thinking of building something like this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/9040922/redir

Good for Ryzen 5 3600 new build?

When would Ryzen 4000 CPU's would be on the market?

  • Are these backwards compatible with a motherboard (Gigabyte H170N) that supports DDR4 2133 MHz memory modules?

I currently use Crucial (1x8GB) RAM 2133MHz DDR4 CL15 Memory CT8G4DFD8213 - and an addition stick costs about the same as this.

  • Went with a ASRock B450M DS3H mATX board to use with this RAM, I wanted to use ASRock B550M Pro4 mATX (looks nicer, has better features like the wifi slot) instead but no one has it in stock at a reasonable price. Only thing I can see maybe being an issue is the b450m might need a bios flash to get it to work with a Ryzen 5 3600, but according to the ASRock website it now supports that CPU.

    • Erm, I mean Gigabyte B450M DS3H, not ASRock.

  • Can a professional help me here please I saw this 16gb 4000 mhz deal and it sounds amazing!! But i dont know if these tipe of ram are good and high quality:

    https://www.newegg.com/global/au-en/team-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-s…

Also, will it reach the 4000Mhz wit Rizen 3600 ?

can i mix these DDR4 ram with existing DDR3 ram? Because I'm still using an old Mobo that only supports DDR3, but might upgrade the mobo to a Ryzen one later…

  • Price moved to $109.23…. bugger, was just about to place an order!

  • Amazon getting faster in their delivery? purchased on 31 July and arrived today !

    • You're lucky. I purchased two pairs on Jul 30, both are not even shipped.

  • returning 2 kits got 2 different versions ver 3.31 and 4.32 won't do 3600 and not even 3333

  • Has anyone else not even got the order shipped by Amazon US?

  • Back in stock at $101.96

Hey guys, I've been wanting to upgrade my 5yo PC for a while now (i5-4690K, GTX 970). Waiting for the big announcements later this year on Ryzen 4000s and RDNA2. Should I buy this to keep for my next (imminent) build?

    • +1

Never seen it lower, I guess so.

    • +1

You might want to wait. We do not know whether DDR4-3600 will be the sweet spot for infinity fabric for Zen 3 CPUs.
Price is good I guess, but Micron Rev E die can do DDR4-3600 CL16 quite easily (even DDR4-3200 Rev E can achieve that in 4 DIMMs setup).

  • Would this be worth an upgrade from my el cheapo 3200MHz CL16 kit on Ryzen 3600? Tried improving the timings and the PC wouldn't boot at all. My benchmarks are always 10%~ below what reviewers get. The price is tempting and I could sell my current kit to make a bit back.

What do you normally use your PC for? A lot of gaming? Which graphics card do you have? I have a Ryzen running at DDR4-3600 CL16 no voltage overclock (Micron Rev E). It can go above DDR4-3600, but I cannot be bothered. Honestly, in general day to day usage, the difference is so small, the CPU performance actually plays a bigger role. Sure, if you have 2080Ti and you are chasing super high frame rate and you want squeeze out every fps, you could consider DDR4-3600, BUT if you are really in that situation, wouldn't want DDR4-3600 CL16?

In terms of memory latency, technically, both 3200 CL16 and 3600 CL18 are both 10 ns. However, you do gain from higher memory bandwidth and higher frequency on infinity fabric.

      3200MHz cl16 : (16/3200)x2000 = 10 nanoseconds
      3600MHz cl18 : (18/3600)x2000 = 10 nanoseconds

In 1080p gaming, if you really care about fps, then yes, 3600 CL18 will be a little bit faster. That difference will reduce in 1440p and close to margin for error level in 2160p. Do bear in mind, most reviewers may use a better CPU cooler when performing tests. The CPU plays a bigger role in overall performance. Overclocking that will provide more performance gain.

However, if you feel that you really want DDR4-3600 and if after selling your current pair of RAM modules, the difference is very little, then you might as well go ahead. My subjective recommendation is spend the extra and get a DDR4-3600 CL16 kit if you really want DDR4-3600. If your target is 16GB total RAM, honestly, those RAM modules when discounted shouldn't be that expensive.

      • Thanks for the detailed response netsurfer. I have a 1660 Super so not that high end but I might upgrade it when the next gen video cards come out (and put the 1660 Super in my HTPC).

I ended up jumping on the Ballistix 3600CL16 as it was only $12 more. Even if it gives no performance increase I'd feel better maximising what my Ryzen 3600 is actually capable of. I find it strange that my benchmark scores are always 10% lower than reviewers. It actually puts my 3600 closer to my overclocked 2600 in my HTPC, although I don't know how that translates over to real world performance (I'm sure the 3600 is much better in general use).

  • WIll this ram play nicely with VENGEANCE® RGB PRO 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16 Memory Kit?
    https://www.corsair.com/ww/en/Categories/Products/Memory/Ven…

    • At DDR4-3200 CL16, this set should have no issue. However, in 4 DIMMs setup (assuming AMD Ryzen 3xxx), your current pair may result in the need to drop command rate from 1T to 2T. You can try 1T first, but make sure you do full suite of memory test. Simple / fast memory test is not reliable. Booting to Windows 10 also doesn't mean much. If you don't memory test properly and over pushed your RAM modules, you will have corrupted files and downloads.

Worst case is you will need to drop it to 2T. That does reduce the overall performance. The latest AGESA update (for BIOS) may also help.

  • Ok with ryzen 5 1600?

  • There seemed to be a lot of negative reviews on the Amazon page, should I be concerned?

  • How does this compare to the Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 CL16 thats ~$15 cheaper?https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0143UM4TC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Mobo is b45m2 which will max the ram at 3200mhz.. Running r5 2600 with rtx 2080 and 2*8gb DDR4 2400. Usage is mix of gaming (e.g. City Skylines, Witcher 3, gta 5 etc.) and productivity (lotss of chrome tabs, pdfs and some excel) on a 34" UW 1440p,120hz.

Would the 3600 be more feasible if factoring in mobo/cpu upgrade down the line?

    • According to CAS Latency - Wikipedia, 3200Mhz C16 has the same 10.00ns "time to first word" as does 3600Mhz C18. However I've heard that due to the Infinity fabric, Ryzen processors would slightly prefer the 3600Mhz RAM. Whether or not that tiny increase in performance is worth the tiny increase in cost; is up to you. Currently it looks like the 3200 is only about $5-6 less than the 3600…

  • Need advice here. Can I use these on my Asrock A320M-HDV motherboard?

  • $97.54 now

  • Currently using Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666 C16 2x8gb with a Ryzen 5 2600

Would this be a worthwhile upgrade? Still very new to PC's

  • Will this be good for Ausu pn50 mini pc?
