There is currently an error loophole applying a $25/month discount instead of $10/month

    exploit, exploit

    • Caveat with this, if you're already getting a discount, you won't be eligible for this

  • How to get $25 off per month?

    • When trying to sign up online a $25 per month discount is shown to apply instead of $10 per month.
Cannot confirm if it works or not.

      • IS this after the credit check screen?

        • It was before. They fixed it back to $10/mth

  • Ordered last time does not work with dongle. The Sim card is blocked if you put it in a dongle, which I did and was Telstra and that's what the rep told me would happen so had to get replacement sim card. Which took forever as noone around to do it.

  • it is showing $25 off. show pay 0 for the 12months plan.

    • Same , looks like it's taking $25 off every plan. Tempted but last thing I want to do is port across and something goes wrong and lose my number

      • +5

It's DATA only AFAIK. Why would you port a number?

        • +4

Oops maybe I should have looked properly 🤦‍♂️

  • Only showing $10 discount here

    • click "Next"

      • Only went to the Credit Assessment page and didn't want to input details for a credit check.

        • strange, I see the 25 dollars discount taking the balance to 0

bought a SIM card on telstra site in Nov. last year. They charged me twice. Their mistake - it took me 3 month - 11 phone calls, several online chats to get my money back. Never ever again. If telstra was the last and only telco in the world I'd prefer pigeons. :(

    • Oh man I've got a ton of stories exactly the same. Every interaction is painful and you have to talk to at least 3 different people before anyone can figure out what you want.

  • +1

Order Does not process at the end. I think Telstra is taking this down.

    • Works over the phone.

  • +4

This 1.5 Mbps thing is really good, I have used 130GB last month at 1.5 Mbps lol :D

    • +2

We are on 155GB this month and still got 1 more day to go. I know some people had cracked the 200GB mark. Good days.

I am actually on the $15 plan before a $10 monthly discount. Telstra billed me $15 and tried to dishonour it claiming that the $10 discount was for the $25 plan. I pointed out that my plan came with 5GB data so it must be the $15 plan. Still refused to honour it so I hung up the call and got online. It was amended immediately. That was also on top of the Cashrewards $45 cash back after 3 months.

      • +6

Same. I got $120 credit applied because they didn’t put it through.
Then, after I got the credit, they applied the discount. So I got $120 credit, plus the $10 per Month discount for 12 months.
Then the $45 cash rewards. Haha.

I’m using it in a iPhone as esim and using cheap calls etc for main sim. Bloody brilliant.

      • I am too on $5 plan ($15 plan with $10 credit + $45 cashback), Also got free Binge as well. Best internet plan I ever had as practically it is almost free :)
I also noticed that Whatsapp calls are much clearer and smoother even at 1.5 Mbps than other network packages with higher bandwidth.

      • The Telstra deal,.. "the $15 plan before a $10 monthly discount" already 1 out of my 3 simcards I ordered from Telstra,. which all 3 cash rewards showed $45 cash back on my cashrewards account, now one of them now shows $0 cashback . emailed cash rewards they are trying too fix it with Telstra,.. so seems like Telstra again is being a pain

Also last week Telstra wasn't honouring the $10 discount for one of my sim cards out of 3x, dare i say the other 2x had issues with the $10 discount in the past

All I can say Telstra is a pain,.. not very happy camper with them 👎

  • This

stay connected for 12 months on Small or above data plans.

    And then:

    No lock-in contract, …

So which is it then? Contract or no contract for the discount

    • +1

You're not 'locked-in' to a contract, but if you "stay connected for 12 months" you get a discount. Seems fairly clear.

      • So if you leave within 6 months, you have to give the $60 credit back?

If so, (not a contract per se but) more like a contract and get penalised if left within 12 months.

        • +4

You're not penalised for leaving. You're rewarded for staying. They're not charging you above their normal rate, but discounting their normal rate.

No wonder, I signed up in store this morning for the large data plan and the guy offered me $10 off on the service I ordered.
The discount is for the first 12 months but service can be cancelled at any time.

  • +2

$10 to deliver a sim. Lol.

  • Signed up to the 200gb plan. Seems i got thw 25$ discount.
I also have a handset mobile month to month plan with telstra. Do i get 10$ multiple plan discount on top?

    • Just commented before I saw your question, it's only a one discount per customer as far as I'm aware. I'm ineligible as I signed up for the Telstra enhanced tablet plan last year

  • Have been working from home since March, haven't used more than 500mb/month and i guess it will be same atleast end of this year (yes, i live in sictoria)

    • That's because you do real work instead of like what most of us do and use the internet 7 out of the 8 hours we are paid for. Kudos to you.

      • My wife feels the same, wish my boss felt the same :)

  • +1

    loophole just closed. dahn it

  • Signed up but wasn't given the $25 discount. How did you guys get it?

    • they just shut it, i literally had it on screen and then it crashed after i relogged in it was gone

      • Crap. I figured it appeared after you signed up. Now I've signed up to a $65pm plan I don't want but I still want the $50pm plan and can't have it :(

        • May be worth calling to see if they will cancel without fees before they send the SIM out.

  • +4

Looks like they are excluding Extra small plan which was part of previous promotion. Shipping was free as well at that time so Telstra seem to now nickle-and-diming us!

    • +2

You posted it 2 minutes before I did. I think they made a mistake last time not excluding it. That was the reason why everyone who signed up the XS plan were charged the normal $15 rate without the $10 credit until we called.

  • +2

I see that they have excluded the $15 plan this time. No wonder they tried to bill us the full amount last time because this XS plan wasn't meant to be included.

  • +2

Would anyone who successfully signed up to the 200GB plan with a $25 discount be kind enough to upload a screenshot of your order please?

  • +2

Ordered last time with Click Frenzy promo, they stuffed up the discount, the sim card delivery and then somehow sent me a cheque (!) via the post with one month's access price refunded. Took five to six days with multiple morons on the livechat app just to get the original discount that I'd signed the 12 month contract for. According to the cheque my service had been cancelled but it's still working fine at the discounted rate. Given the stuff around I can't really recommend these promos.

  • is this going to be available in store? not keen to pay 10$ for sim delivery

    • +1

I was able to sign up in store and got the discount

  • +1

Change it to phone plans also.
    The $65, $85 and $115 all have $10 discount for 12 months.

  • Bugger. Missed the XS discount.

  • I wonder if it’s possible to get the $10 discount on two new SIM cards?
I see the same deal is on offer for Business accounts. The only difference is that with Business sims you have data sharing.

  • Got the sim…does anyone know what the correct APN to use on this? I see telstra.wap gives better speed than telstra.internet. Highest speed so far been around 18mbps. Last night there were times i was getting 2mpbs download and 5-6mbps upload!
This is all using huawei B525s-65a modem… i also tried using huawei e8372 dongle…it gave slower speeds.

  • Is this any help? Apn-australia.gishan.net/en. My Telstra speeds are woeful too, living in rural QLD, Optus at least 3 times as fast, have phoned Telstra a few times but no change and what's with the upload being twice as fast as download??? I get that too, bizarre

  • No data rollover then no deal Telstra

  • Hi everyone this deal still going?

Ok no irs not well importantly the loop hole is not lolz

Probably best as they stuffed me around so much on the last deal and it never stops,..

The Telstra deal,..

Not saying other providers are not a pain,.. example my mobile phone plan with Optus but Telstra has topped Optus 10x fold easily in painfulness lolz
