……..i literally bought 4 cheapie laser pointers from ebay 10 minutes ago, could have saved myself 16cents off each

  • The 3 LEDs could show 9 different special pictures, each torch could show 5 random pictures.

Could show? It either does, or doesn't. 0.o

    • their vocabulary ain't up to the mark ? lol

    • it think it could be like those china-made laser pointers often seen @ chinatown markets

you screw the lid on and when the laser is on a picture shows

      • +2

Nah, I think you rotate through the pictures by scrolling that little wheel thing on the top. If you watch the video, he does it at 25secs.

"You dnt kno wht ur missing"
I'd say some keys on your keyboard?

  • aren't laser pointers illegal to import?

    • not the 1mW ones, but with a little tweaking i can crank this housing to house a 150mW+ diode… ;)

    • actually i think it might just be an led. i don't know.

      • Read it man its in EnGliSh, clearly states 2 LED & 1 Laser… ;) lol

        • "1 LED laser". i think it is just a red led.

all the laser pointers on meritline appear to have output powers & hazard classifications. eg http://www.meritline.com/compact-3-in-1-white-and-blue-led-f…

        • Wht do u think a Laser is made of… ? ROFL, besides they hav a lot of spelling mistakes !
these are available in dollar stores, if you are this keen on finding out they are <1mW dude…

        • i don't think the light emitted from an led is as coherent as a laser diode. wiki states "The laser diode is a laser where the active medium is a semiconductor similar to that found in a light-emitting diode"

        • yea u buy a diode or rip one off an old dvd player/burner with a 10-150mW most lasers use the same config for +/-/grd, the housing and circuit board are worth more than 99c, the laser is just a toy ! ;)

        • +2

Rip one out of a Bluray burner if you want a damn beautiful laser.

If you look at the pictures or even the video, you will see that there are 3 bulbs. Two are white LED's (hence the 'flashlight' in the product name) and 1 is a red LED laser which show pictures but can be concentrated to a smaller focal point (ie laser dot). Just watch the video and you will see.

  • what is the point of laser lights? Are they actually useful for anything?

  • +2

The LED torches are powered by 3 button cell batteries-LR1130 (not included)

Might make the deal slightly more expensive; though may not. Never had to buy these batteries, but it will mean you have to pay slightly more than 99c

  • Come on guys its a damn gud bargain for me as i play with these all the time great for mods of any kind, if it ain't a bargain then dnt buy it, end of story… lol

  • this is a freakin great price as these can barely be bought for this or less in Hong Kong

  • Oh cool these are LASER pointers?! I thought it was just a normal mini flashlight. Sweeet! Always wanted one

2 weeks later receives laser pointer
5 seconds after unwrapping "ARGH! My eyes!"

    • By the looks of it it's a highly noisy laser pointer. (It spills a lot.)

  • Ouch doesn't come with batteries. No deal. :(

  • out of stock

  • awesome - bought one last night when I read the email from meritline.

Didn't realise 'no batteries' though - that sucks.
