If the umbrella took AA's would have been perfect

    • +13

It would be nice if it vibrates. Just for shaking the rain off.

Thought you had other ideas in mind 😭

One of the promo photos has her background/surroundings pegged at 52C… wtf

    Spy umbrella.

  • Thanks OP, bought the umbrella.

    • Make sure to choose Australia Priority Line shipping to get it in around a week

      • I did.

        Thanks for the advice.

  • +12

It's been a while since we had a Xiaomi buying blitz (i.e. pens, screwdrivers, fans, usb light, night light, etc.)

    • agree

    • +9

Those days are long gone unfortunately. The stores that did the loss leading strategies on those products are pretty much going under (Gearbest lol) and Xiaomi raised the wholesale prices several years ago after seeing a surge in popularity.

      • Considering the xiaomi umbrellas sold for 99rmb in china, at around $20 aud, its about the same price, but shipped too.

        • Talking about shipping, probably taking weeks if not months until they arrive given the current situation

          • @theUnderdog: Things in China are normalised. Things take longer to ship from US than China now.

I was shocked to see how many people out on the streets in shanghai.

          • @theUnderdog: I bought a xiaomi sensor from GB recently. It only took about a week to arrive. Shipped on 20/7 arrived on 28/7, even faster than some of the purchased from within NSW LOL

    • I still have a few of the fans and usb lights lying around and even gave some away.

      • ohh yeah :D i got a couple! probably 5 each.

  • does the umbrella fully close on its own electrically?

    • electrically?

No electricity for closing I think.

    • Spring tension. Battery is for the flashlight. When you push it back down, it reloads the spring for next time

      • and after using it in the rain, do I jiggle it around to get off the residual droplets?

        • +3

No need my friend, it's a magic "Level 5 waterproof clothA" umbrella that is "not wet".

Reverse type folding umbrella is not wet, compared with ordinary umbrella, umbrella in the rain reverse fold, not afterExposed, not wet, not wet.

Level 5 waterproof clothA sling is dry without hanging umbrellaHigh-density umbrella cloth, such as lotus leaf as a repellent, after folding umbrella surface can beIn the ground, without umbrellas to dry.

    thanks op, bought an umbrella

  • thanks brought the umbrella.

the previous version has lasted me more than 3 years.

  • What is the difference between 90FUN and without?

    EDIT:

Bought anyway, my old Xiaomi not reverse fold but very good and dry very quick.

Paid A$21.48 not sure if I can get cashrewards.

Hope this one will arrive not like the Xiaomi Mijia light, still waiting.

  • I dun need the torchlight though. Any cheaper version without it?

  • the 4 pack thermometer is cheaper at aliexpress.

    • +2

Even after adding GST? Not to mention the free priority shipping.

      • yeah by 47c.

        • And what's the shipping on that one?

          • +1

@Clear: I have brought few items lately from AE, shipping is 8 days to 1.5 month.

its all over the place due to covid

            • @lazydesi: The listing would tell you.

              • @Clear: 20-41 days

              • @Clear: any deals on usb c to lightning?

                • +1

@lazydesi: Of course changing the topic. Although id rather pay the extra whopping 47 cents to get it here in a week or so

  • why is it showing AU$ 21.48 for me? should we pay in US or AUD?

    • Do you have a card without currency conversion fees added in PayPal? At payment in PayPal you can change the currency of the card to be in USD and that should give you the most accurate AUD price based on the current exchange rate.

      • not sure if CBA has conversion fees, but bought it anyway through PayPal and it showed $20.78 in my bank statement

        • up charged me 20.78 as well

    • Pay in USD, after conversion ING charged me AUD20.80

  • +1

Thanks OP, just bought one to see whether it can withstand strong wind.

  • +1

Does the umbrella have LTE/4G connectivity?

    • +15

B28? Don't forget NFC and Global Official ROM!

  • +4

I'd rather an inbuilt knife over an inbuilt light for my rainy strolls.

  • edit

  • Will the umbrella manually open if the battery gets flat?

  • Any deals on the temp.hum sensors or moition sensors ? or the whole range ?

  • +14

When the deal drop, we save together
I doubt it will last forever
Said I'll watch how I spend
Sent an order, I'ma stick out to the end.
Now that it's raining more than ever
Know that I'll have my (Xiaomi) umbrella
You can stand under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh-eh

    Cheers.

    • Rihanna is proud of you

    • Sang it in my head while reading. Two words,- great work!

Lol isn't it pronounced "um-ber-rella" in the song? 🤣

  • How mad can the world be? What about pants that auto wipe my a$s?

    • don't give them ideas

  • Is this umbrella usually $20 AUD on ali-express anyways? - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33059930114.html?src=google&…

    • I think this one is not the new reverse folding.

      • +1

Both are Push = pop up + open, another push = close. With manual push down to ready position

This one 106cm, old one no flashlight = 115cm. 1/3 of a keyboard larger in diameter. I'd trade the light for a larger umbrella.

        • Is it still worth buying? Is there any other better umbrella for this price?

        • +1

I checked the buyer photo on Aliexpress link it is not reverse folding like this one.

    • That'll set you back to $15.18 US / $21.34 AU with tax included and 24-49 day delivery. Quite a bad deal in comparison.

  • -7

FFS, the coupon kept saying it was invalid when I checked out — and on the final screen although it said $14.79 US, it charged me the full price.

What a scam, how do I get a refund?

    EDIT:

You don't even get any order confirmation email?

    EDIT:

The live chat says it's available 24/7 Mon-Fri but it's not currently available …

    • +1

      No issues with my order.

    • No order email… Confirmed you where charged?

      • Yep, charged on PayPal and on my MCO card 22.99 USD.

        • Maybe ask livechat to refund the difference and give them your order number and coupon code. I'm sure they'd be able to get that.

          • @plague69: The live chat is offline.

            • @Yanoflies: OP said they can help. I think best option right now. Or wait for them tomorrow? I think no chance of action tonight either way

    • +1

      We have no problem.

Are you sure you are using the correct coupon code?

Why can't you check the final price on paypal before said YES.

    • +8

It's not really fare to neg the deal and call it a scam if you didn't check out properly.

Regardless, what is your order number? I can get GeekBuying to cancel your order and refund if that's what you want. Or perhaps refund the difference so it's the correct price?

      • +1

        fair *

        • Too late for me to edit that now that you've replied :/

      • The coupon was there, I made sure the amount said 14.79 before confirming.

A popup came up after I confirmed saying 'Coupon Invalid' and it charged me the full thing.

I got no confirmation email but the PayPal Transaction ID is 12H0598347067825P — I used the PayPal Express Checkout.

        • +1

They've said they can resolve it. Relax.

          • +3

@staz: Fair enough, I revoked it.

I realise I'm frustrated at other things which is why I reacted like this.

Still annoyed that I haven't received a confirmation email, that the live chat claims to be 24 hours but is not available and that I got charged incorrectly somehow.

            • @Yanoflies: Maybe you typed your email address incorrectly? Or it's in your junk/spam folder? Or it's still on its way?

              • +1

@John Kimble: There was no field for me to enter an email address as I used the PayPal Express option — it gets it from my PayPal address which has to be correct.

Not in the inbox or the junk folder.

OP is assisting so I'll order it again and wait for the eventual refund.

        • Thanks I'll speak to Geek but it'll be in the morning as the appropriate people have left. A confirmation email should definitely come through. How about your GeekBuying account page? There is an order section that should say.

          • @Clear: Turns out I have an account, I managed to log in and found my order number there: [Order No: 5297129 Jul 29, 2020 19:46:16]

Still no confirmation email though, including in my junk box.

Thanks for helping, can you ask them to cancel the order? I'll order it again in the grey because my two other Xiaomi umbrellas are black.

            • @Yanoflies: The coupon is likely to hit the limit tonight so it should be easier for me to get them to change it to Grey and refund the difference.

              • @Clear: Sorry I've already placed my second order.

Hopefully canceling/refunding the first order will work out.

                • +2

@Yanoflies: Alright that works too. I'll get the first one cancelled and refunded.

                  • @Clear: Thanks, I messaged you but I'll repeat it hear too — I may have forgotten to switch the shipping option on the second order … if it's possible I'd love it if you could get that switched too.
