  • What do you all look for in a motherboard asides from correct chipset compatibility?

    Various opinions welcomed!

    • +1

Depends on your personal needs. If you're gonna OC you want a board with good quality VRMs, if you want m.2 storage, if you need built-in wifi/bluetooth etc.

    • +1

Sata ports, m2 slots, x16 pcie slots, x570 so don’t have to worry about channel availability for everything listed prior, ram support, headers, LAN and wifi ports brand and speed, chipset fan location, vrms, USB 3.2/2. Bios and overclockability should be good at this price. Rgb if you’re into that.
      That’s about it for me.

Oh and price hehe. I’d rather the x570 Tomahawk over this if there was stock anywhere.

  • Pretty sure you need this expensive board only if you OC it right?

    • More channels on x570 as well.

  • too late for me going to bed..

  • Any idea what happened to the ASUS ROG Strix B550-I? cant get them anywhere.

  • I'd recommend the B550 Tomahawk if in the market for a higher end board. There's really no point to more unless you're going to be doing LN2 or any sort of crazy overclock, but you can't really daily drive ridiculous OCs on Zen 2 anyway. There maybe features you need specific to this board though, but from an overclocking and basic necessities standpoint the Tomahawk is perfect.

I'd be more inclined to recommend the Aorus Pro from Gigabyte. Good VRM and better I/O for the same price.

      • If it's better it's better.

Decent price on the ASUS ROG Strix X570-E.

I got mine from Umart for $449 in Nov 2019, how prices have climbed. I see Amazon has it at $470 but don't get new stock till August.

Beware of this company. They are terrible. They hold your order for ransom and when you finally go to cancel it they charge you 10%. Never dealing with them again. Been waiting 2 weeks for the partial refund to arrive now..

    • +1

Any method to ask ozb move such company to black list?

    • Hi there,

Please contact [email protected] regarding this and we can help solve your issue

Refunds can take up to 3 billing cycles to be processed

The only reason I bring it up here is because I was not satisfied with the correspondence I received from your support.

My PC wasn't built one month after the order. I went to cancel and they stood firm on only returning 90% of the cost because of the "fineprint" I accepted when I checked out the cart item.

Exactly how long is a reasonable time frame of waiting for a purchased product before a customer decides to cancel? I mean according to your policies you could hold the order for a year and then when someone cancels you still keep 10%. It's not right.

If you had showing common sense and refunded my money, I would have been happy with that.

I find it very distressing that in these times of crisis there are unscrupulous companies out there making life even harder for regular people.

What is a billing cycle anyway? Is that one week? One month? One year?

I agree, these guys are terrible, haven't paid me my money back yet. Item is not received even after 5 weeks. DO NOT buy from these guys….they are not good with customers and technically cheating us.

          • +2

@divyesh123: I have been waiting 5 weeks to get my 3600x build, I've emailed and tried giving chances. I said to myself I will wait 1 more week, if not 100% has to be given. Their own policy states "If an item/s has been sent back for repair and you decide to refund instead of going through the warranty process, the 10% restocking fee will apply"

So if they said we will only return 90%, throw the Australian Consumer Law, in which they have breached the contract initially made (sending the product within 3-4 weeks) without any clear communication. Either way they have "revised and modified" their policies literally 15 days ago. Ridiculous to say the least.

@challenger: Wow now they won't accept cancellations AT ALL after 48 hours ~ "Refunds for change of mind will not be accepted after 48 hours of purchasing"

Their policy states "Orders are dispatched within 1-2 working days unless otherwise specified or the item is a pre-order / backorder, delivery will then take a further 5-10 working days". I was told my order would ship within 3 weeks. I cancelled AFTER 4 weeks and it still hadn't been built. Basically they can hold your money and build forever.

Buyer beware. These guys should be banned from Ozbargain.

Hey guys, tried to email two days ago, any update on when the remaining 3600x builds will ship out? Last I heard you got more GPU stock last week and said they were shipping then?

    • +1

I have done the same bro, no response. Have they sent any? Cause idk anyone that's received one.

      • +1

They replied on Facebook, "some orders have shipped out, our next shipment is coming in with more GPUs early next week if it's running on time, we're trying our best to get as many PCs out as possible with reduced staff".

        • When was that sent? I've only received the email on the 18th saying new stock of gpu is coming and all systems are done.

          • +1

@challenger: That was earlier today. I received the same email as well.

            • @qvntmflx: I've messaged them as well just to see cause they told me last week that they're sending everything by the end of the month. If they don't send it by next week I'll switch to another, this new deal and service looks amazing.

              • @challenger: Some orders have been dispatched this week, the exact quantity I don't know,

We're finally receiving the remaining GPUs required to fullfil orders,

Due to covid19 some of these PC's have had to be built in alternative locations slowing down the process

Some orders will be receiving further upgrades depending on the wait time

All PC's are currently built but are just awaiting GPU installation to be dispatched

We're sorry about the wait as we're awaee the service we delivered has been poor for this deal and we fully accept that

                OP

  • Still waiting on the 3600x build…
I understand that the current situation is really delaying things up, but you need to at least communicate with your buyers.
How hard is it to write and send out emails on the situation and give us some update on whats going on.
It's been almost 3 weeks since your last update smh

  • +2

Don’t order from these guys, complete joke.

Any chance for this build again? Thanks

      again

Haha. I think all the people (myself included) who bought that over 6 weeks ago and still havent even got a shipping notification will blow a gasket if that deal appears again.

      • Fair enough. It was a good deal though. Sorry about your experience
