Edit: This deal really kicked off and they've received a large number of orders from OzB. I have received the following email from them, "We're sending out all the Cascades we have, but yours may be delayed depending on what time you placed your order. Don't worry though, the next shipment of Cascades will be arriving in 3-4 weeks, so delays will be kept to a minimum." If you place an order now, expect to wait a while for it.

If you're looking for something to arrive sooner, perhaps look into the following deal for a similar chair at Winc: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/554561

    Hi all,

Once again, we're very sorry for this unexpected delay on the Cascades. We have no control over wharf strikes, so this has been very unfortunate timing and has compounded the delay. We couldn't have anticipated this to happen on the same week our chairs were due to arrive.

We're in daily discussions with our carrier and trying to get updates as often as we can. However, this is a changing an unpredictable situation, so it's been difficult for us to get any concrete indication as to the progress of our chairs.

We've flagged for this container to have priority unloading over our other steel furniture, and we're hoping for dispatch early-mid next week.

By Monday we should have a better idea of what's happening with the strikes and have a more confident ETA. We will post another update then (unless anything changes sooner), but please be assured we're doing everything we can to get these chairs out ASAP.

We understand the inconvenience this is causing, but we're doing our very best.

Thank you all for your ongoing support.

    Hi Ozbargainers,

Thank you all for your patience as we negotiate these unexpected delays. We've managed to get the Cascade container to take priority over others, so it will be arriving to us this Thursday.

We've adapted our usual shipment processes to ensure the chairs get to you ASAP. We're pre-booking freight today to fast-track the process, and will be unloading the chairs straight onto the delivery trucks.

We're doing everything we can to push for even earlier, but at the moment (with the information we currently have) we're planning to start dispatching later this week.

We'll keep you updated if anything changes.

Thank you once again for your patience, and we apologise for these unforeseen delays.

    • If anyone was to place an order now would they be receiving stock from this shipment or would you have to get more in?

      • This shipment is fully sold, but we did order another shipment which is due into stock mid-late September. So you won't have to wait too long if you order now. The original delays resulted from us selling hundreds in a 24-hour period from this post, which we certainly were not prepared for at the time!

  • I ordered on Friday 28/08 - will see how long it takes..

Needed asap. I end up buying matrix ergo 3 lever mesh chair from officeworks for $199.
It makes a difference to test it out.
I set on buying doncaster at officework which is looking similar to cascade but when i test it. The seat on Matrix was more comfortable and thicker. Also has lumbar support. Plus it has 15 yrs warranty

    • Had you tried the Cascade?

      • +1

No, I haven't tried. I ask where their office was but a bit far from my location.
You also need to call and tell them when you are coming as they limit the number of people (pandemic precaution).

Officeworks is just 10 mins drive and more store scattered so it maybe easier to drop by and test it out.

If you also happen to be working in one of Officeworks affiliate like Coles, you can get 5% team discount.
Matrix has 15yrs warranty. I am not sure how easy to claim warranty from OW.

Any updates regarding today being the day the chairs are meant to be uploaded?

  • +12

    Hi all,

The ship is being unloaded as we speak, and we have multiple extra staff on hand ready to help with dispatching as soon as the container arrives to us.

We have a fleet of trucks from Capital Logistics coming at 1pm this afternoon ready to get your Cascade Chairs on the road.

Delivery estimates to the following areas (based on our standard metro time frames) are as follows:

    • Brisbane: Monday
    • Sydney: 2-3 business days
    • Melbourne: 3-4 business days
    • Adelaide: 4-5 business days
    • Perth: 7-10 business days

All these estimates are dependent on the container arriving at lunchtime today - if there are any further delays these times could be pushed back by a day.

Once again, thank you all for your patience. Please rest assured we are doing absolutely everything we can to get your chairs to you ASAP.

    Thanks
    Epic Office Furniture

    • Anyone in Brisbane get their chair yet?

      • Not yet. :(

      • update: my chair just arrived

        • +2

          how is it?

          • +3

@Notoriousbird: sitting on it as I type this and can confirm it was worth the wait. the whole chair took me about 10 minutes to piece together

      • Nope, starting to think my order will be part of the late September shipment…

        • you should reach out to their live chat support to double check you order status by supplying your order number. It is pretty quick to get a response! https://epicofficefurniture.com.au/

          • @polarq: Cheers! They've confirmed it's the next shipment although I was hoping for this one as when I ordered the website said early Sept. Getting tired of using a dining room chair.

  • Are they dispatched now?

    • +2

I got the following email yesterday but no tracking number to date -

      “Hi there xxxxxxx

Not long now until you receive your Cascade Chair! Thank you once again for your patience as we negotiated the unprecedented amount of orders for this chair compounded by unexpected delays out of our control.

We've been working in overdrive to get the chairs on the road ASAP (check out our Facebook page to see the footage), and they are now in transit on the way to you.

To help you start enjoying your Cascade straight after you receive it, we thought we'd send you a demo video to guide you through the assembly process.

It's very straightforward, but it is important to get it right the first time - it's a sturdy chair so not the easiest to disassemble!

We've also included the assembly sheet for you to download below. Don't worry if you lose track of this email - all the instructions and the assembly video are available on the product page for you to view at any time.

As always, please get in touch if you have any questions or concerns.“

      • I got that yesterday too, shame there's no tracking number.
I'm in melb and hoping for a Thursday delivery but expecting Friday

        • +1

I had an online chat with them earlier. The chairs were sent in bulk down to VIC and they don’t have tracking numbers yet. I was told to expect delivery in the next day or so.

          • +2

@carlenet: Awesome thanks for that, fingers crossed! 🤞

      • +7

Not impressed that seller keeps reminding which appears to be a failure in their ordering system and a simple check to not order above their stock levels.
Its been around 6 weeks and looks like these weer purchased from overseas. Regretting order this chair for $50 saving. Not again.

  • +2

    Hi all,

We've received a few calls today from people who have assembled their Cascade Chair incorrectly. It arrives with everything you need to put it together, along with printout instructions which are also available on the product page along with a video to guide you through the process.

If you are unsure what to do, or have any questions whatsoever regarding assembly, please call us and we can help you through it.

It is a fairly straightforward process of putting the pieces together - you are not required to remove plates or any other components.

The chair is backed with a 10 year warranty, but incorrect assembly is out of our control.

    Thanks
    Epic Office Furniture

  • Mine came with a big hole in the box where the crossed leg that Caster Wheels pop onto was sticking out of and has been scuffed up..

I feel like i've ordered from ali express

    • I imagine that would be under warranty, if you can be bothered to maybe ask for a new base?

In a sense we kind of have, we had to wait over a month, it came from overseas and the couriers can be rough sometimes.

      • I might not that would probably take another fair bit of time, plus I don't think there's impact to the structural integrity of the base but it just adds another bit of a damper on this purchase.

But yeah that was my thoughts exactly it did sort of replicate the buying experience you'd have with AE.

    • Same here, damaged carton with leaving few scratches and tiny scuff on the leg

  • I am stuck at the assembling the back to the base. There’s no holes in the base for me to screw the back onto.

    https://ibb.co/StVDXXk

The scores that are already on there are rounded out as well so I’m unable to remove it

    • +3

I don't have my chair yet so can't be sure, but those 4 holes in the plate appear to have thread and from the video looks like where the back bolts screw into.

      https://youtu.be/hkCDX7DKwn4?t=95

    • +1

      I got the chair today.

I can see the holes in your photo. The hole itself is pretty shallow

      • The four holes in the plates don’t lead to holes in the base, if that makes sense

      • +2

Ahhh fk. I know what you mean and you’re right. Thank you guys.

  • Hi guys,

Again, please call us if you have any questions whatsoever regarding assembly.

Please see this screw guide (also available on the product page) for more guidance: https://epicofficefurniture.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/0…

    Thanks

  • Arrived and took about 20 mins to assemble whilst having the tennis on. Cheers

    • How is it?

      • +2

Tbh its actually pretty good for the price.

Worth the wait? Yeah I think it is:)

  • I'm in Melbourne and I also received my chair today.

  • Arrived today. Only problem is I think the cutout for the left armrest doesn't quite match the screw holes so I had to put in a bit of force and one of the screw (threads) got stripped. Not a big deal, but now one armrest is a bit looser than the other - bit annoying haha.

    • Had the same issue with my left one where i had to force it in, luckily didnt strip any threads. The right side went in perfect without any force..

      Nice comfy chair though

I’ve ordered mine 31/7 and i was told that mine is not included in the current batch and it will be sent mid to end of sept..thats bs!

    • +1

      Hi @jaj024,

Please refer to this comment we posted on 28/7. We've been very transparent about wait times right from the start (through comments on this thread, multiple emails, and updates on the product page).

    Hi all,

We just made a quick video (apologies for the quiet audio) regarding a specific question we've had about assembly: https://youtu.be/JLCUIdJGaQY

    Thanks
    Epic Office Furniture

    • I had not red cap in lift mechanism… so I removed the long black plastic thing haha Don't do that either!

  • +1

Second day in of using the chair, seat is great - I can see it lasting the distance. My only gripe is the lumbar support being a piece of slidable plastic. I can really feel it digging into my back when I raise it to a higher level. May have to insert a piece of cushion or foam in there if you need higher lumbar support.

    • +2

yes I agree with this. I also feel like the lumbar support doesn't go high enough for me. I am 181cm tall.

    • I feel the same after a few days of using.

  • +3

I still havent received my chair :(

Anyone else realised you are the one posted this deal? :)
Thank you for this, i really need a good new chair like this one, and hope we all receive it on Monday.

    • Mine arrived this morning, good quality and comfortable, worth the wait, thanks again :)

      • Changed my mind after a few days of using, like someone else mentioned here, lumbar support digging into my back, not good for long hours sitting.

  • +1

Yeah also haven't received metro Sydney

  • Hi guys,

We completely understand the frustration of our Sydney customers. As we've highlighted, due to the volume of Cascade Chairs sold we have adapted our normal shipping methods to try and reduce delays. As part of this, we booked delivery vans for specific areas throughout Sydney.

However, one of our courier's line haul trucks has now been delayed, and is only arriving today. Due to this, we have had to push the delivery van fleet back to Monday.

If your order is urgent, please email [email protected] with your invoice number and we can try and get one of the chairs that has arrived in Sydney out to you today (ahead of Monday's schedule).

    Sorry again for the inconvenience!

    • I will always remember that one day I bought a 'Cascade' chair.. waterfall in french : )

    • +6

Please keep us updated more often next time, specially if there is no tracking provided. I received an Email on Monday says it’s been sent out, being waiting since Tuesday, and till Today you are telling us the courier hasn’t even pick them up… I don’t mind if it’s a bit delayed, but you need to let us know, then we will not be waiting at home all day for it, really frustrating.

      • +2

Seconded. I live in Sydney Metro and I haven't received the chair.

Last public announcement said it'll arrive 2-3 business days from last Friday. So I waited all day Tuesday and Wednesday. Nothing came. I inquired about delivery via online chat on Thursday and the rep told me it'll arrive affirmatively today (Friday). So again I waited in my house till just now I found another "sorry something went wrong we have to push the delivery" shenanigans.

Like ppbargain said, we don't care if it's gonna late. We have already waited for 6+ weeks. But you can't keep giving us false information (or no info at all in terms of tracking).

      • +1

So frustrated with the same excuse: As we'have highlighted, due to the volumne of sale…
Have been waiting all week after 6 weeks of wait. Just for saving $50.

Sending a delivery mail on Monday seems to be just a lie… This is becoming a joke. Been using Dining chair from over 6 weeks.
Its all pain to buyers. Seller got the money. After order, delivery delay first to end of August delivery to week after week. I am still to see what they have done over and beyond to get the delay sorted. Nothing other than emails.

      • Just got delivered. The truck had about 10 chairs left in it. Sydney Metro

      • Hi guys,

Please see the update below we just received fro our carrier company:

Thank you for your patience with the Sydney component of the deliveries. I know that it has been difficult for your company and more importantly your receivers.

I can confirm that all freight will be in Sydney by late this evening and as discussed will be delivered Monday. All drivers are allocated and runs have been routed.

COVD19 has and continues to really stretch all freight providers resources at every part of the supply chain and the unfortunate delay by one of our line haul partners was unavoidable.

I apologise for the inconvenience this has caused to your receivers we are doing everything we can to get these delivered as quickly as possible.

  • Hi all,

After more than 20 comments on this post, multiple mass email updates and countless conversations with individual customers, it seems very unreasonable to say we have not been updating you enough.

We came in the morning after this deal was posted (after business hours) to more orders than we've ever received in a 24-hour period - all for the same product.

This is obviously not something we could have planned for, hence we were not holding enough stock of chairs at the time to avoid delays.

However, from that morning right up until now we have updated customers through multiple channels immediately as information came to hand.

It's not a simple process to get this many chairs delivered all over the country, hence there are several factors out of our control which can impact wait times.

This also means there are multiple parties involved (not just us). We've been putting in a lot of work behind the scenes to try and get updates for you all, via several hours on the phone and countless emails.

We have always sent out updates as soon as we had them. We understand why some of you may be frustrated by a lack of information or updates - but anything we have found out,
you have all found out immediately afterwards.

This is also why some of our updates later became redundant. It's frustrating for us as well when we are told one thing (i.e. the chairs will be delivered at a certain time) only to later find out that they will not be.

As a small business, customer service and word of mouth is what keeps us alive. To suggest we would jeopardise that by lying or misleading our customers is baffling.

Not once have we provided misleading information, not once have we lied to customers and not once have we deliberately withheld any updates.

We've had many positive comments about our customer service throughout this, and we appreciate that greatly - we pride ourselves on it.

We completely understand the frustration this situation has caused. But we know we've done everything we can, and just hope that most people will acknowledge that.

      Hi there,

Thanks for your detailed reply, i understand the delay was unexpected, and i know your team has been working really hard to help us to receive the chairs as soon as possible, really appreciate that. The point i'm trying to make here is you informed us here on Friday, also sent us an email on Monday, that you guys are sending out the chairs, and we should be able to receive them in around 2-3 business days(Sydney Metro), that would be on Tuesday and Wednesday or Wednesday and Thursday. so myself and follow ozbargainers here made ourselves available at home on these days, which caused some inconvenience for us, and you actually only informed us this morning(Friday), your courier is delayed and only picking them up today, which you could let us know before hand, then we didn't need to wait for them at home this week. I also need to clarify that i have only received 3 emails regards the shipment since 28/7, placed the order on the 27/7, received an email on 28/7 regards the delay, mentioned should be sending out in around 3-4 weeks, next email is on 31/7 regards more delay but expect to receive them soon, and the recent one is on Monday says its on the way including assembly instructions. Only 2 emails total recently including the one says on the way, which we were already another 2 weeks behind your initial estimated delayed time frame, 3-4 weeks from 28/7, which is the week starting from 25th of August. i would like to state my opinion here, if it was delayed again like what just happened, let us know on the day or before hand, cause we were expecting them on these dates if you didn't inform us otherwise. which can cause some inconvenience for us. By the way i'm quite impressed that you guys including assembly videos and even just made a new one to explain to us here to prevent us making mistakes while put it together, will definitely use that after i received my chair, thank you.

    • Hey guys,

I bought one of your chairs and I'm from Sydney also. While I wasn't pleased about the delays I understand that sometimes it's out of your hands. You guys have been very transparent and have kept us up to date along the way.

I also really appreciate that your team went above and beyond to arrange a courier and get it out to me this Friday and it came in the nick of time before I went away for a couple of weeks.

In an ideal world something to let people know when you're out of stock online and tracking numbers would probably help people manage their expectations but from my POV you more than made up for it with with the frequent updates and customer support. Keep it up!

    • +1

Received this morning, sitting on it now, very nice, good quality and comfortable, worth the wait, thanks guys.

      • +1

Changed my mind after a few days of using, like someone else mentioned, lumbar support digging into my back, not good for long hours sitting.

        • +1

Yeah you'll just have to slide it all the way down so you can't feel it.

        • +2

I just slid some black foam between the lumbar plastic and mesh, makes it comfortable to sit against for long periods.

  • Received 1 of 2 chairs yesterday, box was damaged, friendly delivery driver commented on it and took a picture. Assembled fine and very happy.
Received 2 of 2 chairs today, box also damaged, and box was clearly opened (maybe customs?). Same friendly delivery driver took a photo again. Unboxed it to find the castor wheels and bolts are missing. WTF?
Hopefully can grab some bolts at Bunnings tomorrow, and $11 for some castor wheels. But eating into my $50 savings :-(

    • +3

I had a similar issue with my delivery, the package was damaged and a few parts had cosmetic damages (also a washer was missing). I emailed their admin and the rep happily suggested that they would replace the damaged parts and could send down the missing washer, without any hesitation. I'd suggest you do the same, email [email protected]. I received my chair yesterday and flagged it straightaway. I received an email today from the courier company saying the parcel has been lodged and it's on the way. Very happy with the customer service and the prompt responses.

      • +1

Thanks I’ll give that a go, but hopefully it won’t mean waiting another 5 weeks for the missing parts.

        • Update: got the missing parts sent out, received 2 days after requesting. Thanks guys!

          • @muncan: Update 2: got around to installing chair 2 tonight. Two of the washers were the wrong size so I had to pick two screws to go without washers. Then all tightened up I go to attach the seat to the legs… nope, the gaslight column thing is missing too. FML 😞

  • Ordered on 14th of Sep, it got shipped today with an estimated delivery of tomorrow. Hopefully all goes well.

  • Wondering if it's only mine or due for an adjustment - I am trying to set the seat flat, but it still feel leaning slightly on the back.
I'd love to tilt the seat a bit forward (to get less pressure on the under lower thigh) Is it possible to do that?

    • +2

I have the same issue and just assumed that it is by-design. Interesting that you are experiencing the same issue… would like to know if others have this issue and have resolved it somehow

    • +2

Same here, I ended up using some old washers and large nuts to push up the rear, the arm screws are longer which you'll need, so I had to do some rearranging.

  • Got my chair today and just put it together - pretty straight forward and the video helped, thanks for that.

Quality looks and feels great… my dad will love it.
