Used the same debit card + Delivery address on 3 different accounts…

Here's a tip that I've used a few times, mainly with Amazon to take advantage of these kind of offers.

If using a Gmail (unsure if works with other email accounts), add "+" to username to sign up with your usual email address instead of setting up another from scratch.

Eg - my normal address is "[email protected]" change to "[email protected]"

This allows the new account's emails to be sent to the normal account and keep track of

    • How do you do that?

      • Gmail ignores + and text after.
Similarly john.smith and johnsmith both gets same emails as they are recognised as same address by gmail

        • No way, just tried and it worked!! Why didn’t I find this out before! Wow such a massive help.
Thanks GiggityGiggity and Enjoyer for telling me this

    • Much easier to detect tho.

I did this with a wallet app (to get free 10$) and they noticed and sent me an email about it

  • Does this apply for returning Prime customers?

    • +1

Yes it does, I just signed up and got the deal.

      • Thanks, got one

  • +2

What about something for existing members?

  • I've joined and become a prime member but I couldn't find a link on how to claim that echo 3rd gen.. was the deal off already??

    • EDIT: My mistake

    • +1

no, just add the echo dot to your cart, just search it normally and in checkout the discount will automatically apply to the order

      • It works.. thx heaps mate

  • Thanks OP. Nice deal! Got one.
Noticed also prime videos got good titles. Good.

  • Not existing member but they should have got some offer i reckon. Bezos doesnt know what loyalty means ?

Created 10 new accounts and bought 10 echo dots 16.99 each. Will sell for 100 a pop. Net profit 830 dollas

    • +1

New account gets 30 days prime trial. So, BS.

    • +1

      $100 a pop.. dreamin'

    • Guys plz don't be hatin. I'm saving up for an AMG.

      • -4

i agree with you dude i dont get whats with everyone hating all the ozbragin resellers

      • It's because you paid $16.99 each, everyone else is paying $10 each.

  • Still going. Just did the Mrs account. As mine is still active.

  • +3

Sweet deal! 10$ is the exact price I'm willing to pay for a toy that creeps on me. I went for Sandstone White, I'll be living in the future just like Black Mirror!

  • +1

Does this work on free trial? I can't seem to find the option to do a free trial anymore.

    • yeah.. i did not see free trial as well - I think you cant anymore.

    • I didnt either.
But I got the email saying credit has been applied.

Clicked through the link and it worked

    • For reference, it didn't show for me either. However if you:

      1. Create an account with payment details
      2. Select Echo Dot and add to cart
      3. $69 off promo will appear at payment confirmation
      4. You will be billed $10
      • Yeah, that one works. My question is more around why there's no free Amazon Prime trial anymore. The T&C mentions that this promo applies for both trial and paid memberships but I can't see a link to sign up for a free trial in a newly created account. All good, though. Still a sweet bargain even if I pay the $6.99 membership fee!

  • Setting up a new account requires Mobile number for verification? Is anyone getting the same as I believe it wasn't needed before. Thanks.

    • Got the same. But I have an account on different email but same phone number.

Was able to get echo dot for $10

      • Thanks, fantoo.

  • +1

UPDATE- my free trial didn't show up so I got charged $6.99 for the month and got the echo, went on amazon live chat and told them that I got charged for the prime month and the apologised and said it was a error and then refunded my month of prime and let me have the echo dot for $10.

    • thanks will chat with them today! I didn't get my free month either

  • +1

A listening device more than a speaker! Tempting as it is, meanwhile my logical brain wonders shouldn't Amazon be paying me for granting access to my private space and conversations/ data?

    • -3

Dont worry theres no law in America that says the government can access your data. Its only the American multinational corporations that will share it between themselves for financial purposes. You wont have interpol at your door to extradite you for national security issues.

Some of these company also incorporate themselves in tax havens so nobody can regulate and control what they do so even if the government forces them to hand over your info, they cant. So you're perfectly safe.

  • I have received dispatched notification.

  • Thanks , bought one .

  • anyone got theirs dispatched yet? seems unusually slow for amazon.

    • none of mine have but someone above said there one has

      • If you choose express delivery it usually gets dispatched earlier, like at 12pm

        • i did not a it was the same price as the dot itself did u?

          • @eckers19: Mine hasn’t got dispatched yet and I chose expedited delivery, the standard one included in the price

    • how did u get it for free it cost the most of use $10 and a select few $4.50

      • Didnt you buy 9 of em?

        • -2

Na it was joke didn’t buy that many

        • Y?

          • +2

@eckers19: You've commented 44 times on this one post. Relaxxxxx

    • How did you get it for $0?

  • -1

I feel bad for the Amazon workers, they have to ship out 1000s of echo dots and the support team because they have to take so many calls and chats .

    • +2

all becoz of my post LOL

    • By buying this you are giving them a job, in the covid 19 situation jobs are quite valuable to some people.

  • -1

Does anyone know if this works with Student Prime?

  • I didn’t receive email yet….! Joined yesterday…

    • Which email, just add it to your cart and proceed to the checkout

  • Done, worked . Thanks

  • done but forgot cashrewards. oh well

  • Just got a shipped notification. Cancelled Prime now.

  • Thanks mate!!! Ordered 2 :D

  • UPDATE- Cancelled prime as soon as I placed the order and they just shipped it out, didn't even charge extra!

  • Thanks OP.
    Got one.

  • +2

    Anyone opt for the plum?

    • +1

I was tempted but it's too light. If it were dark coloured like an actual plumb I likely would have chosen it.

      • +2

Do you think they should have given it a plum coloured top too, or would that be too much?

I like how the all white (Sandstone) blends in with white furniture and walls, it kinda disappears on the surface. However, worried it will yellow like most white plastic!

        • If it's made of white plastic it shouldn't yellow, but if it's plastic covered in white rubber-like material (like some digital radios, USB power banks etc) it will degrade and gunk up quickly.

          • @Loopholio: The white plastic is not coated with rubber so it won't yellow. I'm happy with my choice.

Managed to create 5 different accounts without needing a mobile number and purchased the Echo's, now asking for a mobile number when creating new accounts. Think they are cracking down on multiple purchases I think.

  • received mine today

    • they deliver on Saturdays?

      • yupe, not the first time received order on Saturday.

  • Received mine today but having trouble connecting device. Downloaded Alexa app which is detecting my account to be in Japan (not using any VPN) and post connecting the device to wifi it shown status as offline. Can anyone suggest troubleshooting site that I can use to bring device online?

  • Great, needed a speaker for the bedroom and didn’t want to buy another HomePod. This’ll do.
Had to sign up using my work email/number but whatever. I’ve been a loyal amazon customer from the start, reckon I deserve a dot. Thanks OP!

  • Has anyone received more than one unit?

Wondering how strictly this will be enforced:

Offer limited to a maximum of 1 (one) Qualifying Item listed in these terms and conditions, per customer. If Amazon considers a customer to be operating multiple accounts, those accounts will, for the purposes of this offer, be treated as one customer.

  • Got one. Thank you. Now I can compare it to my google nest and see which is superior. ^-^

    • Keen to hear your comparison of the two.

      • +3

I'm selling my google nest 2nd gen.

        Reasons:
Alexa is a lot more tuned and versatile.
More responsive than Google, no need to say hey google or okay google, can just say alexa.
Can whisper to alexa and she whispers back.
Alexa more accurate and sensitive to voice.

Alexa is just a much better experience overall. And with skills and easy ways to teach her more things I am far happier with Alexa over Google.

        • +2

Alexa whispers back - amazing. Haha! Thank you for the comparison!

        • The whisper feature is great late at night

  • I got 3, 2 received yesterday (Sat) and one is being processed. Alexa is not as fast voice recognised as Google assistant in my opinion but overall is still a good smart speaker for very good price

  • What do we use it for if we don't have Alexa? Can it be used as external PC/laptop speaker?

    • this is Alexa.

  • Can the 3.5mm input be used for audio In ( to use it as a speaker)?

    • no, it is audio out only

  • +2

Been a Prime member for a number of years now and am enjoying it immensely specially for the streaming benefit. Initially, the selections were quite sparse and now, there is a wealth of shows from movies to tv to watch, and to binge.

This together with Stan is a winning combo which both atm shite all over Netflix which have become an outhouse with some truly god awful shows. 365 days, anyone?

    • +1

Would be nice though if people who have been Prime members for a while got some sort of Loyalty Points so they can take part in these 'New Member' deals :)

      • I hear ya. Amazon rewarding their long standing loyal customers would be great and much appreciated indeed. Though in this specific case, I will pass even if offered. We already have enough spies (gadgets) surrounding us (watching and listening) in our everyday lives.

  • +1

Just a note, I signed up for Prime at $6.99 per month on the 23rd July, purchased the $10 Amazon Echo & today (27/7) I selected to 'Cancel My Membership' NOW & was refunded $3.50 as I only had Prime for a week.

In summary, it makes the Amazon Echo Dot I purchased only $13.49 in total.

If you have a use for Amazon Prime, the additional 3 weeks is worth the $3.50 so I would have selected to cancel at the end of the 1 month however I have another Amazon account with Prime for a year so not use having two :)

    • If you go on live chat they will say its an error and refund you the full $6.99, that's what I did and they honoured it

      • Legend, I'm on it! :D

        • Ok, Just update me on whether you got the full refund
