    estimated time of arrival?

  • It bears mentioning that it may be wise to wait for RDNA 2.
AMD is reportedly planning a massive step-up in terms of raw performance and including past omissions like hardware raytracing.
Nvidia likewise could deliver seriously powerful cards for their RTX 3000 series.
Both giants are obviously going to be keen to show up the next-gen consoles that are launching this year.

Obviously it's a huge meme in the PC building community to "always wait and you'll never have a chance to buy anything" but with this generation stretched out so long, the delays of COVID-19 as well as the economic impact of the virus likely disuading a lot of people from wanting to buy another GPU for a long time, it may be wise to hold out this time.

Obviously this doesn't change the climate right now, a bargain today is still a bargain. Just worth considering if you don't have the money to upgrade your PC frequently.

    • Been waiting forever here. I have i5-3470 and am looking to upgrade.
Just waiting until DDR5 ram and compatible motherboards get released.
I feel that it would be a waste to upgrade PC from DDR3 to DDR4.
Might as well wait until DDR5 comes out next year.

      • I've commented the same thing earlier, but dude just pull the trigger.

If RDNA2 is by any stretch a good platform (which it should be) then its going to suffer heavy demand in a world where logistics and manufacturing are suffering. Your either going to pay a hefty premium or be waiting literal months for stock. Then by then it'll be 'wait for Nvidia Ampere entry level cards, they'll blow RDNA2 out of the water for a cheaper price!'. Guys just order it when you want it and forget about it.

      I keep waiting that I still have a i7-940 and 660Ti.

Since buying a Xbox one X is now out of the question, better buying this, but the Xbox series s will most likely out perform this gpu in coming months.

And with Nvidia releasing ssd speed on their GPUs, what Sony are doing with their ssd's Nvidia are doing on expensive silicon.

  • So this is pcie 4 and if my motherboard supports up to pcie 3, I shouldn't get this?

    • +1

PCIe is backwards compatible. If you have a PCIe 4.0 graphics card you can use it with a motherboard designed for PCIe 3.0; however, the card's available bandwidth would be limited to the capabilities of PCIe 3.0. Conversely, a PCIe 3.0 card can fit in a PCIe 4.0 slot, but again it would be limited by PCIe 3.0.

    • +1

      There are tests by gamersnexus;

Most cards are still seeing (almost) no performance loss between 8x and 16x, let alone pcie3 16x vs pcie4 16x.

      you'll be fine.

  • I know this goes for nearly all tech, but AMD are close to releasing Big NAVI (RDNA2), and it's probably worth waiting to see what that offers, if you can.

    • how long?

  • any deals on a 32gb kit ddr4 ram?

    • There's a Team T-Force deal right now, but G.Skill Aegis is $189 at Shopping Express. Both are 3200CL16.

  • Curious if this is compatible with an Opencore Hackintosh I'm currently buying parts to build

    • IIRC the 5700 XT works fine on Macs.

  • Is this or the galax 2060 super a better deal from the previous $549 sale ?

    • +1

the 2060 super for sure. You get much more out of rtx features and it performs maybe 10% worse performance, but youre also paying 10% less than this deal.

      • Thanks jazzor!

      • Good logic, at the same price though the 5700 XT is the better buy. But they aren't.

  • How low is the 9900K going to gooooooo? Feels like I'm playing with fire continually waiting for it to drop further now it's discontinued. Highest upgrade path for my build.

    • Hi Vinbie,

Stock is beginning to become limited

Is pickup available? If not, what is estimated shipping time if we order today?

    • +1

      Estimation is 7 business days

  • Any gaming monitor deals?

    • Sorry not currently

      OP

  • Is this the card that's ending up in this deal? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/547051

    • +1

In remaining units that haven't shipped

      OP

      • What about the other ones? I got the email on the 18th, not sure if mine would have shipped yet or not :)

      • What card was in the ones that have already shipped?

        • ASUS TUF

          OP

          • @CGB Solutions: Hey guys, I realise you're under the pump atm, but do you have an estimated arrival date for the build mentioned above? Trying to ensure someone's home at the time.

            • @qvntmflx: Hi Phrober,

              Once shipped you'll receive tracking

              OP

  • Do you have any prebuilt deals planned in the future or for Black Friday?

    • We might have some future pre-builts coming up

At the moment it's a funny time as the market isn't very stable for parts, pricing and of course due to next-generation gear just around the corner
