Price drop on the portable SSD. Available in Red, Gray and Blue. I believe it's an all time low price.
Second post, let me know if I've left anything out.
Edit 23/07 Price drop from $254.98

Was that for T7??
T5 from Bing Lee eBay.
Ah just t5. Sorry :p
I also regret not buying one. : (
thanks op ordered one
Bought a T3 250G for $170. I feel so bad when seeing any T5 and T7 deals.
darn thought also include the touch…good deal nonetheless.
@Spook512
… you got me all excited… I have been hanging out for the T7 Touch model :(
These are great storage devices by the way. I have both the Sammy T5's and the SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD and much prefer the Samsung devices.
I currently have the T5 1TB and find it's a great device. But I ordered one of these anyway, faster speeds might come in handy.
Whats about the "touch"
I read the reviews on the touch version and some units seem to suffer from an intermittent disconnection/stalling issue probably due to the additional security feature of the fingerprint scanner.
The fingerprint scanner is a nice feature to have, but it is also one more thing to break when something goes haywire.
Bing Lee has it for $269, https://www.binglee.com.au/samsung-mu-pc1t0t-1tb-t7-touch-po…
officeworks price beat brings it down to $255.55, if you have access to discount gift cards would be even better. Local warranty is worth a couple bucks
Just to add to that Bing Lee only has the Titan Gray colour. Red is more expensive ($289) and blue doesn't seem to be stocked.
Blue is at EB Games atm
Blue: exactly the reason why I bought from Amazon just now.
Thanks OP!
Hopefully the purchase qualifies for ShopBack's 7%
Blue is my favourite too but I am not sure if they would honour their warranty given it is an US import?
Officework doesnt price match. I went to their Auburn Store. The model number of the SSD they have and the one in this post differ by 2 characters. The store manager indicated that US stock- even though on Amazon AU doesnt qualify for a price match. Bummer!. I came back and checked the amazon US and applicability of warranty etc in Australia- but not too clear.
thanks mate
what do people think of the Crucial X8 compared to the T7 or Sandisk Extreme Pro Portable ??

Decent round-up here: https://www.anandtech.com/show/14661/usb32-g2-portable-ssds-…
Just bought the T7 500GB from Officeworks for $188, works really well for running Parallels virtual machines off of. Internal SSD is always filling up thanks to virtual machines and Docker. Benchmarks at ~800MB/s write and ~900MB/s read over USB 3.2 gen 2 on a Macbook Pro 2017.
Was going to ask if anyone had tried these out with a similar use case. Thanks!
whats the difference between T5 & T7
2
Considering the T7 is supposed to be nearly twice the speed, that "2" is actually quite relevant!
You need USB 3.2 Gen 2 to take advantage of the increase performance. Otherwise no difference.
Bing Lee ebay selling for 299 touch version
Good find
Are these shuckable?
With a chainsaw anything's shuckable.
Just a heads up, delivery price differ depending on the colour you pick, for some odd reason.
Does anyone know if OfficeWorks will price match / beat against this?
I purchased the red from OW today, they price beat the amazon deal (incl. shipping cost). Bought it for $250.
which store? The aburn store didnt price match
Blacktown
OW wouldn't price match the Amazon offer. I tried to get them to price match the Bing Lee price but they wouldn't because they only had the red. I left the store. Went back the next day to match the Harvey Norman $278 price, but the worker mistook the price and price matched it at $178, so got it for $169. I got a bit lucky. Wishing I had of got 2.
You should have! After you paid, did you run out the door? ;-)
I definitely had tunnel vision for the door and was just waiting for a hand on the shoulder the entire journey. I was sweating bullets as the guy said he had to get the manager over to approve the "massive discount".
I would be sweating and heart pounding like mad every second before the transaction is done. Would only let out a big grin followed by laughing after walking out the door.
Well done :)
Regret for not buying the 2tb one when it was $320 :((
