      It used to be a little less than this, but for COVID it's pretty good. Though I'd get a 3300X for $199 at Shopping Express, much better in gaming and barely behind in multicore.

        I agree! 3300X is better in gaming. I myself switched from 1600 AF to 3300X primarily because of the superior single-core performance.

        Nope $218 plus shipping at Shopping Express (so about $235?).

        Better for gaming, yes. Not in the same price range, though. This is $175 inc shipping.

    I do think the 3300X or the 3600 are better value (even at $100 more) than the 1600AF at these prices. The jump from Zen to Zen 2 is pretty significant.

      The 1600AF is Zen+. It's basically a relabelled 2600.

    Expect 3600 prices to drop further in 6-10 weeks as Ryzen 4000 launch and release rolls in.

    Wait if you can, and still look at the 3300X and 3600 if you can't.

    Purchased the 1600AF for $150 pre-covid. Bundled with a RX580 for $199 all from PCCasegear. Good budget gaming rig for children for fortntie avg 100FPS. Processor handles fine and not a bottleneck.
