  • Any had any positive results with that teeth whitening kit?

    • Can't comment on the Aldi kit, but there's similar products on Amazon/Ebay (hydrogen peroxide trays + LED). Check out the reviews for those kits. Individual results will vary depending on the type of staining.

  • Anyone used the Dentitex rechargeable toothbrush? Do you know if these take Oral B brush heads? Thanks!

    • +1

      Completely different

Costco has really good deals on the brush heads every so often, not sure right about now though

      • On Dentitex heads or Oral-B heads?

        • Oral-B. Also good deals are Shaver Shop and Amazon from time to time for Oral-B

      • Thanks.

    • Don’t buy the Dentitex rechargeable brush. Unless they’ve significantly changed the design of the heads since last year, they start to separate after a week or two of use and then start randomly pinching the inside of your cheeks and tongue quite hard (sometimes enough to draw blood).

$20 Oral B is much better

As a dental worker, I was a bit concerned why there was a screwdriver listed at all in the tooth whitening kit, then as a consumer I become alarmed when you listed a screwdriver twice… fortunately, the catalogue only shows it being listed once, and one would assume it's for the battery cover.

Oral B toothbrush looks to be a decent pick, bit hard to find this info but it suggests it does do the higher end "40,000 Oscillations and 8,800 pulsations per minute" as well as the better battery, and does have a pressure sensor. I would double check the packaging to confirm these details, as there may be regional variations.

    • Sorry, did you say screwdriver?

  • Anyone have experience with mixer taps from Aldi? mine is getting a bit worse for wear and needing a replacement.

    • +1

I got mine like two years ago and I absolutely love it, best kitchen upgrade I've done. Being so tall it wobbles a little, but I think that's because of the leverage making it bend my cheap stainless steel sink a little. The mount mechanism is very stable.

      • Are they easy to install yourself?

        • +2

Yeah pretty easy. All the fittings had rubber washers so no messing with Teflon tape or anything. To screw the main tap into place it has a very large nut thing to screw in by hand, didn't need to try and get a tool up there.

          • @Alzori: Didn’t aldi have a issue with their taps not too long ago containing too much lead? I was going to ask does your water taste funny but then can u taste lead?

    • +1

A couple of years they had reports of high lead, then further testing said none found, then a lady complained of memory loss due to this pipe (may be false case, not sure )

All this being said I'm interested in the tap as well, I'm still on the fence though

      • That's an interesting claim from the lady! but will see if other also have input too.

      • then a lady complained of memory loss due to this pipe

Perhaps she want hit on the head with the pipe? Head injuries can cause memory loss…

        • +1

          Lead pipes are especially bad.

          • +2

@Alzori: Plastic/rubber/steel/iron/lead can all cause head injuries, if your apply enough force.

I think the world would be a much safer place if we used foam pipes for everything.

          • +1

@Alzori: To be honest, it really depends on which room it was used in.

      • +1

then a lady complained of memory loss due to this pipe

How did she remember that she ever bought the tap and from which shop?

      • +2

I've had mine since last year, going strong and no issues, even with an over zealous MIL who washes dishes like it's a competition she's at risk of losing. Also no memory loss…..yet.

        • We bought one last year. Still working great.
You may need a plumbers workforce, and decent wide pliers, like we did.

      • +1

I can't remember when we bought ours.

    • +1

Bought mine a year ago, life changing. Aerator function is surprisingly useful for really stuck-on bits of food.

      • Awesome, do you have a picture of the one you got? they seem to cycle through models

  • Is it just me or imgur site is very slow to load?

    Stroopwafels! Chocolate Sprinkles! Eet smakelijk!

    • +1

      Chocomel! Proost!

  • +2

Shower caddy: Fits frameless glass shower screens up to 15mm

  • +3

I bought one of those tooth brushes some years back then my local Aldi never had the heads in again so I threw it away. Was so pissed

  • I'm buying 3 packs of the sonic refills this time. It must be 9-12 months since they last had them. I don't know if any others are compatible.

  • I wouldn’t go close to that tap. I bought last year. OMG its horrible. Started leaking with in 8 months after a decent use. I would not recommend. I would rather go to Costco and pick this one.

    • Those are entirely different kinds of taps though, are you saying all hose style taps are bad? I'm yet to have a bad experience with them.

      • +1

I have the normal simple design not the fancy looking and i m assuming the inside mechanism is the same in both.
And when i tried to return they asked for a plumber installation certificate. Which i lost. So i lost my money.

        • Damn that sucks man.

  • any experience with the toilets? need to replace one and this seems a bit cheaper than bunnings

  • The less fancy gooseneck tap has been great so far, near a years daily use and abuse ,well worth the 79 bucks

  • +2

I've installed this gooseneck vege spray mixer that you can switch between spray or tap. It was on promo for $49 for a good while since last year. Been so good that I installed it in another kitchen sink.
