Koorong - 30% off Bible Software: Word Biblical Commentary 59 Volumes $245

376

Mod — this post is on World Biblical Commentary offer at Koorong, and is not a place for religion debates.

59 Volumes of the WBC series in Libronix format.
Integrates into your Logos library if you have one.
Normally $350. I bought for $280 when it was 20% off.
It's currently 30% off.

It costs USD $690 direct from Logos. http://www.logos.com/product/8006/word-biblical-commentary

Edit:
These are high quality, academic, critical commentaries. Pick one up and have a read. If the best available evidence says "this part of the bible was made up and inserted after that section", that's how the text is treated and engaged. They're written by hardcore nerds (Christian and non-Christian) who have an insane grasp of their subject matter. Sure, "Koowrong" stocks a lot of rubbish, but these are well worth it.

Awesome deal! But it's sad to see how some atheists see this as an opportunity to mock/have a go at Christians… I'm sure tolerance is still a virtue in this society

This is a great deal. Bought it. Thanks
Was looking at it on the Logos website but far more expensive

    Glad this deal came up

    • No vote? >.<

If this deal was an equivalent Scientology deal, would it still have gotten 34 + votes? If not, than religion is a factor.

    • nah. it think it's a population/demographic factor.
how many christian commentary readers vs how man scientologists.

      • but if it's a good deal, it's a good deal regardless. I mean I + vote on bargains whether they apply to me or not (and judging by the comments, so do a lot of people).

I think you're right, demographics is a factor, but so is religion.

        • And who asks the same question in every other deal. Like the 118 votes for 10 galaxy Tabs? We will never know the answer so why ask the question….

not so sure since scientology is more an organisation that applies dianetics & uses science fiction as justification for its existence.

If it was a deal for dianetics alone, perhaps… but scientology? I'd make multiple accounts just to giv a neg to save the lives & time of those who were gullible enuf.

      • and we would ban you and all the other accounts permanently for this and remove the comments. Even if we agree with your view point. Its a deal site not a moral issues site.

        • +1

you scare me… so it's only ever gonna stay a hypothetical ;)

just pondering that without morals we wouldnt have the rules that keep me from creating multiple accounts to become a vigilante dealbreaker so that the net can focus on legit deals… the interconnectedness of nonsense.

        • Right, so the Catholic Church isn't an organisation?

          http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,833509,00.h…

        • All major religions I believe would classify as organisations. However being an organisation doesn't automatically qualify one as being a religion as in CoS' case.

PS. dead post resurrected after 3 days by jaded444 (sic),, ironic?

        • u mad bro?

Why is it that we all checked out this particular sale item, read the comments or commented ourselves? Srsly what the? We are all excited bout this or else why r we here? excited hatred however is sad to see…

One thing that is clear is that we are complex beings not merely looking for a bargain, but really for something that may be worthwhile in our life or someone else' life.

  • Wow this is a great deal. I've used word commentaries before, they are highly technical - so you need to have an interest in historical and archeological matters to get the most out of these. Helps too if youve got a basic understanding of ancient Greek and Hebrew. But I would recommend them as a reference if your interested in depth of scholarship- best to accompany with other, shall we say 'big pircture' commentaries. A great bargain though!

Yeah, definitely need decent Greek and Hebrew.
