  • here we go… wallet will be crying

Nice deal but thanks to Covid the delivery is painfully slow at the moment so make sure you have a lot of patience before ordering and are willing to wait until Christmas to receive your package.

    • -2

expensive items (aud50 or more) usually fast. nah, christmas is overreacting. if $2 items more like 4 months max

      • +1

I ordered 6 items at the start of May. One cheap $2 item arrived within a couple of weeks, another worth $50 arrived at the start of July. The other 4 I am still waiting on…. 3 of those are cheap <$20 items but one was about $200. So I'm not sure from my experience over the last few months whether the cost of your purchase has any impact on speed of delivery. I think it more depends on seller and whether your parcel takes a scenic route to get here.

        • It can be extremely slow, and confusing. The tracking for one of my orders shows it departed country of origin twice on 5 Jun and then on 1 Jul!

    • Also, can't find free shipping stuff anymore! I am not going to pay $2 shipping for $1 cable.

      • Depends on what you are after, you can still get free shipping. E.g. this half metre Vention Cat7 ethernet cable ordered on App is A$1.82 (after discount) and shipped free via China Post Registered Airmail. And I prefer China Post Registered Airmail over Aliexpress Standard Shipping as you can track your order from beginning to end.

Annoying indeed. Seems to be a recent move. Apparently theres a greasemonkey script that will sort listings by Price+Shipping cost, but I haven't tried it yet.

look at big picture, total for that cable is $3 if you buy here probably $9, its your choice

      • Theres a search filter for free shipping which I use pretty often.

      • Off you go and pay $20 for the same cable from shops

    • Yeah shipping is glacial right now, don't order masks etc if you need them in a hurry

  • Will it stack with US$3 off

  • The day after a sale ends…

I feel misled shopping at aliexpress as they are displaying non-gst prices..

    • +1

They sell to countries other than Australia…

    • +9

You can aim you ire at Gerry Harvey, aliexpress is just doing his bidding on that front

    • +1

I swear they're not actually paying GST either.
No mention of it on the packaging / customs slip.
No other overseas retailers I know of charge GST on items under $1000 (besides amazon)

      • +3

Both AliExpress and Alibaba have ABNs and offices in Australia but they're not registered for GST.

  • +9

I miss the days of 20% cashback at AE. 10% is just enough to cover the GST they whack on at the end.

  • Any links for good reuseable face masks without valves?

    • +1

Take your pick really, they're all much of a muchness on there. None are amazing, but just make sure you get something with a filter is my best advice.

      • Thanks

    • You can clean it and then recharge the static with hair dryer or a fan.

Remember to mark your order as received once you get it.

    • The last promo back in 27 may, we need to mark in 60 days. I bought 7 items but 3 cheap ones are still not yet arrived till now.

      Ummm… 90 is better…

      • I try to buy from sellers with better shipping than snailmail. Works a treat.

    • Why?
      Genuine question.
I read somewhere you're better off not marking it received as it makes it harder in the dispute process if you need to use it.

      • -1

So you get the cashback then claim not received and get full refund ie free cashback money.

      • I've heard that cashback gets rejected if you don't.

  • Just remember they have mad it 90 days before they will help you, my orders have been missing for months already

  • Masks will be mandatory from 11:59pm on Wed in Melbourne if you go out or risk a $200 fine. Get some masks now people if you're in Melbourne

    • +6

Unfortunately due to Aliexpress shipping delays the masks will arrive in time for Covid-20 or Covid-21 :(

  • +1

waiting for the day they increase the limit…

  • seriously long wait ordered items in February and they are still somewhere in the world. Didn't a cargo ship loose items a way back?>

  • +3

Probably will never buy from aliexpress again at least until things go back to normal if it ever does. Been 7 weeks since ordering and still nowhere to be seen. Not worth it

  • Does this work with AliExpress Assistant?

  • Ordered some watch straps which turned up in just over a month. Also ordered some watches and looks like the first one I ordered on 6 June has arrived in Australia late last week and should be here later this week. So not too bad all things considered.

    • I've had Aliexpress items showing as arrived in Australia and then took another month to arrive. Thought this was political to delay China shipments.

      • Hmm that wouldn't surprise me either. Some of the watch straps did show up in Aus Post's tracking website once they hit Australia, but not this watch (still says "untrackable" on Aus Post website).

        I guess we'll see!

EDIT - it just turned up!

  • ok done… my $40 is flying to China….
