The price of these suddenly went from 15$ to up, I guess demand has been higher due to Covid.
can't tell you how much wfh has done my neck really badly… is there any stand that you can put on your lap…?
I have this. Not because I use my laptop screen, I have an external monitor, but because it let's my laptop cool easier. All the video calls really get it warm.
I use it for exactly the same purpose.
Is it feasible to work without external keyboard and mouse i.e. using trackpad and built-in keyboard with laptop on a stand?
In my opinion that would be more uncomfortable than not using a laptop stand. You would want a keyboard/mouse pair to go with it.
Depends on the stand.
There’s a low-rise Ikea piece designed for tablets but lifts the rear about three inches which I find is enough and is pretty usable for typing.
You really have to suck it and see.
Link to the IKEA stand?
Not much good for cooling - https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/isberget-tablet-stand-white-003…
@0jay: Aghh, no holes to vent. Otherwise a good alternative.
@UncommonName: A good cheap alternative ;)
@0jay: Check out the Kmart 10$ one, it's really good!
@UncommonName: Ta, I’m not doing anything that needs extra cooling. $3 trumps $10 for me.
Everyone who work from home from a laptop must have this kind of stand. Please take care of your neck, you have only one.
I have similar like this good enough for 14" laptop and folded smaller than this posted above.
