      Dang. Really wanted this.

      • Same :(

I think we usually say "in store only", rather than "offline only no delivery". :)

Thanks , eng is my second language so those expressions are not familiar for me. :)

        All good mate! :)

IMO , It is the best mouse if you use for office work + autohotkey combination.

I gave up after trying Logitech MX MASTER 2S. It's the first mouse ever where I would instantly notice severe input lag.

        Logitech MX MASTER 2S

        …which is NOT LightSpeed. ;)

      • +2

That not a gaming mouse. No where on box it said it for gaming.

      • +1

That is your problem. The MX master has a terrible sensor for gaming. I don't even know how it became so popular.

Unless you're really after a thumbscroll mouse there are plenty of wireless mice currently in the market that perform far better and are far cheaper than the MX.

Wireless mice have been great for games for years now.

    • LightSpeed, though. Probably fine for most people.

      • +1

Even a mx master 1 is fine for most people.

        Those "pro", "wanna-be-pro" and "pretend-to-be-pro" are different…

    • Welcome to the future, where in the last few years actual wireless gaming mice are fantastic.

    • I reckon the Logtiech G602 is/was probably the closest that you can get to a perfect wireless gaming mouse.

It uses a optical sensor, which is actually rare as hell, and is actually pretty much perfect for wireless usage (inc battery life).

It uses 1 or 2 AA batteries, so by using (precharged) eneloops, you never need to 'charge cable' it.

The only previso in regards to this mouse's wireless performance is that you really should(/must) use a usb cable extender to get the dongle right in front of the mousepad. A 1m usb 2.0 cable is all that is needed. With the extra cable, and optimal dongle position, there is pretty much zero input lag, and not a single dropout.

The only issue that this model has is the middle mouse button eventually starts to not register properly, and starts to require a more 'push down/forward' movement, instead of just 'push down'. Heavy use will see the mouse last around 1-2 years before this starts to play up. It can be fixed, but requires a bit of effort to do.

Considering they are/were sold for $50 on special, they are still the closest you can get to a perfect gaming mouse imho.

edit : I don't use the rear 2 side buttons. They are a bit awkward to use. The middle 2 are great, and the front 2 (on the side) aren't too bad. The left mouse button '2 little buttons at the front left' are great as well. Cheers.

      • When were they $50?

Last post on here I can see is in 2018 for $57.20

        • I imported a number of them from the US before the GST on imports came into effect in July 2018.

But I also got 1 more from Newegg in a black friday promo, late 2018. Imported inc gst and shipping was AUD$49.69.

EDIT : that actually was the same date you have. They had a AUD $30 off for an $80 spend that day. So I got the mouse and a cheap usb for AUD$59.50. (USB was AUD$9.81). I think it was a flash deal for the 30 off 80. Then the discounted price on the mouse came into effect (the $57 pricetag your deal has). I remember because I was debating getting another one :)

          • @metalslaw: Ah, so not recently? I'll hold out for a deal closer to $50 anyway.

            • @Tiggrrrrr: Nah, not recently. I haven't actually seen it available in Aus really for around 2 years.

It was already no longer available in Aus back then (black friday 2018), with even the logitech site in aus saying that it was 'unavailable', and all staticice shops showing backorder, eol, or unavailable. So I knew it was being discontinued in aus (early in 2018).

But it was still available in the US, which is why I got another one back then.

They are still available in aus, but your looking at 100-120 AUD (1 ebay store has new ones for 100/one amazon store has new for 120). Which is around the price of this newer model in OP anyway.

Newer G604 is a bit different. Uses a laser now instead (which may or may not be better). The side buttons are a little different, and I think are probably better (the rear 2 of the 6 look like they would be a lot easier to use). And at least it still uses AA batteries (but it only uses 1, instead of 1 or 2 in the 602).

Tell that to all the pro players that literally play games for a living and use wireless mice.

  • It's good that the site allows you to check the stock level rather than blocking purchases outright but in-store stock is pretty much non-existent. When this was first posted here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/550202, I used the online chat to check stock but was told it was sold out nationwide. I checked with my local store anyway and manged to grab the last one.

Great mouse for both gaming and work use. I had a G600 for the longest time, constantly ordering multiples at a time from the US (they get the double click thing after several years of heavy usage). In my opinion the G600 is one of the greatest ever made, best multi-use mouse out there….problem is they don't make them anymore

The 604 is the (sort of) updated, wireless version of the G600, and so while not as good as the G600 is still amazing once you spend a few days with it. I honestly like it more than the Logitech MX Master 3 Wireless I have (although the 604 doesn't have the "logitech flow" option that the MX Master series has…so be mindful of that if you have multiple set ups on the one desk). The 604 is great for travel as well as you can store the wireless usb in the mouse itself, never had any issues with latency from the mouse….I can't tell at all between wired/wireless for gaming on either mouse (unless it's over bluetooth….you need to be using the usb for gaming)

Overall it's a fantastic mouse, perhaps a little heavy for the ultra competitive FPS gamer but it's one of the best options for an "all-in-one" gaming and work mouse that I have used.

If only Logi would just pop a hero/lightspeed sensor in the G600 and cut the wire off it….my god that would perfection.

The Logitech G600 was my first serious gaming mouse. I loved it to death but it was way too big for my small hands. I always wanted them to make one with a thinner width but it never happened. I use the Razer Naga Trinity now because it's the next best thing but I would seriously go back to Logitech if they made a G60x that was basically the size of the G604 but with more side buttons.

  • None at Warilla near Wollongong.

Posted this a couple of hours ago in the other recent G604 deal:

This just arrived in the mail and it's close to being a great replacement for the G602 but falls a bit flat due to the minuscule feet. There's not enough surface area on the pads so it doesn't slide effortlessly like its predecessor if you're using this on a mousepad and not a hard surface. You just feel and just as annoyingly, hear the rough movement.

The other two minor niggles are the weight distribution (more so) and the cheap feeling plastic (less so). The weight distribution is thrown by not having the battery centered and having it angled to the right. It anchors the base of the mouse ever so slightly, amplifying the issue with the feet. To make sure I wasn't imagining this I took out the battery and the anchoring effect was gone.

On the plus side, it fits nicely in the hand (very similar to the G602), the middle click on the scroll wheel works (let's see for how long), the switches in the left and right buttons feel solid and the texture on the thumb and pinky rests has a nice soft feel.

I'm trying to decide if there's some weird acceleration going on or if I just need to get used to it, I'll have a play and see a bit later.

    • Yes - though I don't understand why you'd do that. The thumb buttons on the side are much more comfortable to use.

I mostly use this mouse with the USB dongle and it lasts quite a long time - it's meant to last a lot longer via bluetooth
