Just 1 USB slot?
I usually use a mouse and a modem …
1x USB 3.0, 2x USB 2.0.
I think this is the best laptop deal posted today, the decent dedicated video card and 3 year warranty are highlights.
wow gateway are still around? i thought they packed up shop years ago
I thought so too, just looked through their website and "In October 2007, Gateway was acquired by Taiwan-based Acer Inc." - could be good, could be bad…
This price is fair but not great IMHO - the machine weighs 2.6kg which barely makes it a laptop, price is average for this type of machine. I wouldn't buy it.
2.5-2.6KG is pretty standard for a 15.6" laptop that doesn't claim to be lightweight/thin.
Owners will typically sit them on a desktop most of the time and only take it with them when visiting someone or moving from room to room and typing notes/presentations. Good laptop with a bit of grunt but not a portable solution by any means.
The most impressive part of this deal is the 3 year warranty.
I read it as .3 year warranty. Guess I must be biased….
I've got this strange feeling that the Gateway of today is slightly different to the Gateway of yesteryear
Whats the battery like on this one…it mentions it has a long life battery…wtf does that mean?? is it a 6 or 9 cell?
edit…found the answer although dont know if their prediction is true at 4 hours…
As a suggestion for anyone looking to buy this, take a look at a gateway laptop in jb hifi or other retail store before buying based on specs, the quality and "feel" are worse than your average laptop imo.
