Wanted to get a Canon Pixma MG8150 all-in-one (top of the Pixma MG range $269) at Officeworks. After searching on the web, I managed to find estore.com.au (http://www.estore.com.au/Canon_Mg8150_Advanced_Range_Pixma_I…) selling the same model for $210 (with free delivery). So, I got Officeworks to pricematch to which they did with the extra 5% off which came to $199.59. Very happy with the $70 saving, and Canon is also offering a $50 eftpos gift card with this printer model at the moment. You could say, the deal is $150 for this quality all-in-one :-)
Canon Pixma MG8150 inkjet all-in-one + $50 eftpos gift card for $199.59 @ OW.

Have a low end canon pixma. Very happy with it over my previous brother all in one. As mentioned though, the ink costs are a headache.
You could always buy one of these: http://www.rihac.com.au/mg8150-ciss-p-808.html
I have used one for over a year (with my epson) with no problems. It has saved me a heap, but on the other hand I now have no hesitation to print things!
Yes, canon original inks are expensive, but over the past few years, I have been refilling my own canon cartridges with good quality ink and have not had any issues. Once you've done a couple, it doesn't take very long to refill them at all (and less mess :-)) My partner likes to print a lot, and getting large bottles of these quality ink makes it so much cheaper and affordable. Had not had the ink nozzles clog up or anything. As a matter of fact, my last 3 Canon inkjet printers are still in tip top working condition after much use :-)
A good find. Read some reviews and people mention high RRP and running cost. I guess that at about $150 the initial cost is OK. The printer wastes some ink and time when powering on so you could keep it in standby to avoid that (constantly wasting 3-5W of power instead).
Compared to the cheaper MG6150, MG8150 has somewhat improved scanning features but for most it may not be worth the additional cost.
The new generation, MG8250 and MG6250 only added some software features which are of no value to me, however, MG8250 is supposed to be in matte finish now = fewer fingerprints.
Looks like a good deal.
However, looking at the terms of the Canon $50 gift card promotion (http://www.canon.com.au/en-AU/PIXMA/Bonus-Gift-Card/Terms-Co…), if you purchase this printer at Officeworks you get a $50 Officeworks gift card. If you purchase it from estore, you get a $50 EFTPOS gift card (which I presume can be used at any retailer).
For me, it's worth spending the extra ~$10 to get it delivered from estore, as a net $40 to be used at any retailer is worth more to me than $50 to spend at Officeworks.
Also, +1 to the suggestion to buy a CISS from RIHAC. I've got one for my old Canon printer (which, for various reasons, I need to replace), and it's saved a small fortune in cartridge costs.
checked the T&Cs you linked to and there is no mention of Officeworks which I assume means you will get $50 EFTPOS gift card instead.
Interesting. The "landing" page for the offer (http://www.canon.com.au/en-AU/PIXMA/Bonus-Gift-Card) mentions Officeworks as a store at which you get a store-only gift card, but you are right re: the T&C not mentioning Officeworks.
Put in my claim on the Canon promo and got offered an $50 eftpos gift card after I hit submit. Didn't give me an option to select Officeworks, even though it was mentioned on the site like you said.
Bought one today. I can confirm the actual claim page does not include Officeworks. Although, when I press the submit button, I am getting "An error has occurred while processing your request. Please try again shortly." Well, will have to sort it out with Canon later.
Expired? Just gone down to my local OW to try to buy one of these and the estore price has now gone up to $330!! so no good for the price match. Looks like I just missed out by an hour or two
They are good printers, pity about the replacement ink tank costs
