  • Do these work with vertical blinds?

    • Don't think so, even for horizontal slats too. 'Been looking for something that can do both chains but seems like none on the market. 'Probably too tricky to coordinate small minute turns.

Thanks for this! I already had one and was waiting for another deal for a second blinds.

These work with vertical blinds with beaded chain. There are 3 different types of gear/teeth included for different sizes of chain.

If anyone is interested, I have modified the Homebridge Tuya plugin to work with this blinds driver and add it to Homekit.

    • I have the vertical blinds with beaded chain but it's semi automatic. When bringing it down, I just have pull the chain slightly and leave. Blinds automatically come down until I pull it slightly again. Will this work with such blinds?

      • I don’t think that’ll work. Sounds like a spring loaded system

    • Oh nice, this is just what I was looking for, a way to patch it into Homebridge. Thank you!

      Might bite on these then!

EDIT: Oh these run on AC power? Bugger, I need something that uses batteries…

  • I paid 99 for this a few weeks ago.

    It's loud but works well.

    • Could you tell me if you have to drill holes to install it?

      • You can either drill holes or use the provided 3M tape

      • I drilled since it a permanent thing in my house. Can't imagine doing it manually now.

  • it looks very dumb TBH, having to run on AC plugs just ruins it for me. and this gimmick is just over priced for the tech it carries.

    • Anything else u would reccomend?

    • Would you rather it run on batteries?

      • Solar, maybe?

I like mine to run on positive thinking.

Yes, like the rest of my motorised blinds…

For anyone interested, I bought I different one that is much cheaper. It runs on battery so it does not need to be connected all the time, and battery last 2 plus weeks, but comes with a solar panel so Im assuming on sunnier days it will last even longer. Runs on bluetooth, not wifi so no alexa or google home. I was very happy with it so I just bought and received another 4 (my bedroom as 5 blinds). https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000025499519.html?spm=a2g0s…

    • Wonder if controlling these with a raspberry pi is doable?

      • +1

You can control the ones in the deal via home assist on a pi

    • Why is there a picture of an AC adapter if it runs on battery?
Edit: Ah I see it’s also solar

    • Interesting, will check this out! Thanks.
Wonder what the actual battery is, and in turn boost the capacity using say cheap tool batteries.

And here I am pulling the blinds myself like a sucker …

    • After you set a schedule, does the bluetooth on the phone has to keep connected to the controller? Which mean if I am out of the house, the blind will not operate as per schedule.

      • I’d like to know too, if bluetooth means you need to be home to control? For wifi I assume that you can control from outside location away from home?

        • Both bluetooth and wifi devices need to be connected (in physical proximity) to a device that connects to the internet if you want to control them outside when you're away from the house.

          • @Abbi: Ah Ok thanks. I guess I misunderstood then. I thought with wifi enabled blind controllers, I can instruct from my phone app through 4G which will then route through the internet, to home router and to the controller device. What you're saying is, there needs to be an intermediary, like Alexa or Google Home device that bridges the router and the controller device?

  • Would these work with an ordinary non beaded pull cord?

    • No, I don't think so.

      • Darn. Is there anything that will?

        • It should be easy to replace the cord with the beaded one I'd imagine.

          • @Buy2Much: Yeah not sure, I did think about that. I don't think a beaded corded would work, would be a bit big through the mechanism.

  • Kogan feel free to hmu for some free shit.
