Have been looking for a webcam and just got this popped up in joybuy's weekly email. Pretty good price IMO because the best price I can find locally is around $59 but most of the places are out of stock. Please note the delivery estimate is 30-40 days though for the previous orders I got them much faster than that so if you can't wait then this won't be the deal for you.

It's probably because webcams are sold out everywhere because of covid
be wary of buying anything from overseas right now. i am waiting on an item from aliexpress for way too long now, despite paying for express shipping.
I received my mouse today from geekbuy international within two weeks from china and that was also priority shipping
ok then aliexpress is dicking me around. thanks
I hAve two orders from AliExpress for far too long, on Reddit another fan (I was buying celebrity merchandise) received their goods shipped to the US from the same seller so might be an AliExpress issue shipping to Australia:(
@myheaven: currently aliexpress deliveries are taking 4-6 weeks to reach Aus, then add local delivery time.
@lazydesi: Last item I bought from AE, took 3 months to come LOL
@Danstar: Last item I bought from AE, took 3 months to come LOL
Sounds defective. Send it back.
I have one AliExpress order from March that’s still outstanding and another from april. One from april has turned up in the last week or so, but it missed the June birthday that I thought I was super organised for. Wouldn’t touch them again until this all settles down (ie not this year).
Same problem. paid extra for delivery 13-20days. things are arriving abou 50-60 days later. When I put in a dispute for the express shipping charge they shrug their shoulder and tell me to keep waiting.
They don't seem to understand I paid for a express service which wasn't delivered and confuse this with complaining about non-delivery.
I'm not sure if its a lack of english comprehension or a deliberate act to avoid refunding the express charge
No stock left :( bummer
for anyone needing a webcam - your phone works. I've been using a spare android phone as my webcam for a while now.
Tried a whole bunch of apps, and the one I found works the best is
PROS
"IP Webcam" from Pavel Khlebovich. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pas.webcam…
Full functional, free app, with ads banner - the rest of them limit functionality when free.
Doesn't lag.
Can use wirelessly.
Probably better quality than this expensive webcam.
FREE
Choice of front and back camera.
Actually works (was skeptical)CONS:
Your phone will be HOT, especially long meetings. Additional wear and tear on the phone. Phone will throttle if overheating, so unlikely any long-term damage (other than additional wear and tear on battery)
Drains battery like crazy.
Need to find some way to hold your phone up. I have those cheapo phone holders from a while back. I lean it on my bookshelf speakers against the monitor, with a phone holder.Tips: you're better off setting video quality to 720p, as google meet only supports max 720p. By default it'll be 1080p.
I'm basing this off my experience only, Win 10, pixel 2xl, using google meet. Your miles may vary! But happy to try to help. It was easy to set it up. Not associated or affiliated with app in any way.
App appears to be android only but iOS might have their own versions.
Ninja obs is free, no ads, and no installation of app required
I'd probably prefer one that doesn't stream my video over the internet for it to work. Installing the app would keep it within the local network.
Touche. I'd prefer not installing potential malware on my internet banking device.
@belongsinforums: yeap, fair consideration.
I use it on my spare phone so there's nothing on there.
Permissions wise seem reasonable - only camera. mic optional, no storage permissions required. If it's a malware in other ways, I wouldn't know.
Using an old Galaxy S6 and DroidCam for a webcam. (profanity) paying this much for the shittiest camera on the market
There are youtube videos on recycling broken laptops to re-use the webcam.
Google something like "convert laptop webcam to usb"
it's pretty simple
Similar spec Microsoft HD-3000 webcam on Microsoft Ebay for $48 delivered & in stock:
www.ebay.com.au/itm/LifeCam-HD-3000/172524000045?epid=902168…A lot of the Logitech gear will make it back on the shelves by mid July. This unit is good for desktop, 720p, not for a small meeting room, just a desktop. Mic is good, picks up sound quite well.
in 2013 it was $24.50
in 2017 $11something
this doesn't feel like a deal for a pretty old and clunky webcam
Received it today so it took 11 days. :)
its amazing how much they want for this last decade tech
