This cable is 2m long, should put that in the description.

Coupon gives 15% off only on the 2m selection.

  • Do we need to have 2.1 hdmi port in tv to get an advantage of this cable to its fullest?

    • +2

Yes, both the TV and the input device will need HDMI 2.1 to use all the features, I bought some Belkin HDMI 2.1 cables when they were first released and I'm currently stuck at 4k60 since my computer only has HDMI 2.0

  • +2

I wish I could find some properly certified cables (that won't need me to sell a kidney) rather than those just claim to support HDMI 2.1 features…

    For reference: https://www.hdmi.org/spec21Sub/UltraHighSpeedCable

I have bee looking for something similar for my new and existing TV. After 2 days of intensive research, today I will head to Costco and buy theirs.

      • How much are they at Costco?

        • +2

$29.99 for a twin pack. 3.6m/12 feets. 4k high speed. Couple of people have posted satisfactory reviews on Whirlpool plus Costco's warranty is one of the best. Even Basic Keji High Speed HDMI from officeworks are highly regardged. They do 4k @ 60hz however it only comes in 1.5m and 5m and I need 3m

    • I know what you mean… I've been saving for months to buy one of these https://www.amazon.com/AudioQuest-Diamond-Cable-HDMI-3-m/dp/… but might need to bite the bullet and settle for an inferior cable…

  • Does this cable have a HDMI Premium certification? If so who was the certification test centre.

    • For what they're advertising, you're after the Ultra High Speed certification.

If I buy a ps5/xbsx, would i be correct in expecting that a hdmi2.1 compatible cable will come included in the box?

    • Id not bet on it - more $$$

  • +1

Bought 5, now I think I just need to buy another 5 * 8K TV from another OZB deal.

    lol

  • I didn't know 8K 120Hz was a thing

    • Just you wait for 16K 240 Hz :)

      • +1

I have no choice but to wait :)

With the speed of technological advancements, it looks like that's speeding towards us haha

        • Too late, that was yesterday's technology. Today it's all about 9000K 20MHz

  • +1

lol meanwhile 80% of media sales at JB, Target etc are 720p DVDs.

    • +4

      I thought DVDs were 480i?

      • Yes… good point

$4.10 at Bunnings. (although doesn't state which HDMI version number) not that i'll be needing 8k resolution anytime soon.
FWIW picked up one of the hdmi 2.1 cables off ebay for $12 with free shipping a couple of weeks ago
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/549525

    • Not going to be HDMI 2.1

      • -1

I did point that out never said they were…
And then showed that hdmi 2.1 cables are on ebay as well for context.

        • I could post about wire at 10c per meter, but if it's not the same as what's being discussed it's not useful.

          eBay comment is cool though

          • -1

@bmerigan: Struggling to see how your analogy relates, the 4k cable by bunnings will do, at a minimum everything except for 8K that the 2.1 can handle, which in today's market is pretty much all you need. 8K is still a few years off. Not sure how a piece of wire could do that.

            Oh and FWIW
$10.44 on ebay any day of the week
            https://www.ebay.com.au/i/113986231571?chn=ps

  • I would go Monoprice any day over these. They are well known for their quality—- 4k

    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B01GCGKI3O/ref=ox_sc_sa…

    and 8k

    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07WNM2NJ5/ref=ox_sc_sa…

  • Why state "please make sure your devices support 8k"?
What sort of cable can play 8k but not 1080p?
