I'll pass on the 23kg of Taxes thanks…

That depends, some things are quite cheap per kg, so you could get away with it quite cheaply. Tap water (not the bottled stuff from servos which costs more than the fuel) is very cheap, and 23 litres of it will only set you back a few cents.
Volume will be an issue at that point, but that doesn't mean go for depleated uranium, as although it is dense, it is also pricey, and comes with other 'issues'…
      I'll stop now…

        read the customer reviews…

the planes seem to be in appalling condition…

They seem to relate to Strategic Airlines Luxembourg.. notice the locations are all Manchester to Rhodes etc..

        • I dont think the condition should be the main concern; was reading earlier in the year how one strategic flight got stuck in thailand because of a technical fault and because strategic dont have enough planes; they had to wait 5 days for a spare plane to be flown in.
I think they did pay for accommodation, but if there are other places you need to be; the rest of your holiday to go - its a bit scary.

many mention very long delays because of the condition of the planes…

          eg. cabin lights not working…

and what exactly is wrong with Air Botswana ,take off your blinkers pal,the world is changing… and fast.Read a bit on this little country. One of the fastest growing GDP's in the world and quite wealthy by the looks of it

  • Decent price. Around same as Jetstar's special prices if counting all the luggage fees, though JQ departs from SYD.

Add another $500 or so gets you to LAX from HNL on one of the US carriers.

  • How long is a direct flight to Honolulu?

    • Around 12 hours I think. Flew Hawaiian Air earlier in the year from SYD

      • just over 9 hrs from Sydney.

Flight 22 is off to Honolulu…

    Great album 'The Avalanches'.

Sorry, not related to the discussion.

  • Good price for a Melb - Bris flight with only one stop-over

    Is this economy or business?

      LOL.

      Your trolling yeah?

      • Say hello to the next Impulse Airlines.

  • Both Strategic AND Air Asia still not flying from Sydney…Jetstar must love having Sydney to itself (direct to Bali/Phuket/Honolulu)

    • AirAsia will commence Syd flying in the near term, they now have share swapped with MAS so they will get there.

Strategic will never enter the Sydney market because they are one of the most fragile carrier around. Any other carrier will kill them in an instant (which is why all their A330 flying is on routes that has zero competition.

I would probaly have a look at Jetstar, the news over at pprune is not good in regards of them getting hold on 2 more 330's for HNL…

  • Nice offer, shame I don't have enough for a trip to Hawaii.

Incredibly cheap when you consider school holiday dates available. Flights from Honolulu to mainland America are very cheap also so makes for a decent fare to get over there in Jan-Mar

damn just called up jetstar thinking i could get a price beat guarantee match - unfortunately you can't as there are no direct flights on jetstar from Melb-Honolulu :(
