Rust is a multiplayer-only survival video game developed by Facepunch Studios.

The objective of Rust is to survive in the wilderness using gathered or stolen materials. Players must successfully manage their hunger, thirst, and health, or risk dying. Despite the looming threat of bears and wolves, the primary menace is other players due to the game being solely multiplayer. Combat is accomplished through firearms and primitive weapons, such as bows. In addition, vehicles controlled by non-player characters will occasionally roam, attacking heavily-armed players. These can be defeated with persistence. Rust features crafting, though initially limited until the discovery of specific items in the game's open world. To stay protected, players must build bases or join clans to improve their chance of survival. Raiding is a major aspect of Rust and is done more frequently by large clans.

  Bought this two weeks ago after being convinced by a friend. Game is hella hard to get started but heaps of fun. Much/10 recommend.

    Its not the community thats toxic, its the human race under survival pressure thats toxic.

    I have hundreds of Steam games and an account worth around $8000 and this is all I play.

    Was happy tp pay full price.

    Rust will make most of the games you own seem like crap.

    There's quite a few toxic players but find a good server, low pop, 2x gather etc. And you can have some fun. For every toxic player I've encountered I've had good experiences with other players too.

  Very fun game. Ok price, but definitely not the lowest. This time last year it was selling on Steam for $13.

      I'm with JV. If you HAD to buy this game the time travel comment is warranted. But this is ozbargain where we usually buy things just because it's a great deal and not because we need it. At more than double its best ever price this is not good enough (for me) for an impulse purchase.

        I can't remember when Rust left early access but the price jumped up when it did so it isn't likely to get that low again as it's a 'full' game now.

    You make them you'll need a blueprint first, by either researching it or finding the blueprint in a barrel (depends on trap).

  I picked this up in a humble bundle for around $5us in 2016 when it was still early access but never had a PC good enough to play it. Awaiting one from techfast so will finally get to see what all the fuss is about.
