Dyson V10 Motorhead - $699 Delivered @ Dyson eBay

950

Found this at 22% off on the official Dyson eBay store. 700 seems like a steal for this, lowest I've seen it recently.

    Is it a steal?

    • I did pick one up so it's a yes from me ;)

    • +1

Only if it makes f'ing coffee! $700 is a lot for a vacuum… if you are a true ozbargainer.

FD: never owned one but seriously!

    Is the V10 worth it over the V7 @ $399 ?
For use in a smallish apartment ~60 squares.

    • If you have a pet then I reckon it could be worth it over v7

    • +1

Soft roller brush, better battery and suction, bigger dust tank. I have a 180sqm town house and own V10 Absolute+ and battery doesn’t finish when fully charged. But if I was you, I would have sticked with V7 given the price difference. If you can get a bargain for V7 animal, that’s even better. Comes with extra attachment I guess. Helped a friend buy V7 animal for 399$ and he is happy.

      • +1

V10 motorhead in this listing does not come with soft roller brush.

        • I got a V11 a while ago specifically for the roller brush, which is absolutely brilliant on hardwood floors

    • I think so.

If I recall correctly the V7 doesn't have have a HEPA filter. V10 suction is much higher, battery life better and bigger dust bin.

    • +1

I would almost pay the extra $300 just for the newer emptying mechanism alone.

    • The base models dont suck well enough and the multifloor head not great.

  • Can you get those in the blues or any other colour?

    • +6

Easier to adjust your wardrobe to match, I’m sure you’ll look great in crimson and purple whilst vacuuming.

There was a deal last year, bought through Amazon (from US) with cash back for this model. Ended up being around $460.

    • How's the warranty when buying through Amazon from US? Recently bought something but didn't really look into it, so genuinely interested. Do you need to send back to the US or Amazon Australia?

      • +1

Definitely have to be careful buying from Amazon US.
I bought a faulty Smart Lock recently with the free international shipping from US and the lock company said that since I’m in Australia my warranty was voided. Luckily Amazon let me return it, and paid for shipping, but I did have to return it to the US Amazon warehouse.

      • +1

I got my V10 through Amazon US deal. Whilst dyson aus honoured the warranty, the replacement parts are for the Australian version of the V10 (aus version has a bigger bin)

If you have hard floors get something with a soft roller motorhead as these multifloor heads don't work as well and will scratch wood floors.

    • this guy watches vacuum wars (or has hard floors)

  • Can use Ebay gift card?

    • I don't see why not :)

Got v11 via good guys eBay for like $800 a while back so not sure if v10is worth it though some might have pros and cons >.> decent price still I guess

    • +1

Yeh not sure why this got so many upvotes

      Guess it’s all about timing..

      • Its always about timing, peoples lives dont revolve around chance ebay codes that stack with other discounts to produce all time low prices.

    • +1

Still waiting for the v11 at $800 mark.. Seems like impossible now until v12 comes out

      • Lowest currently is 950 from the good guys I believe, that's pretty solid for current generation.

      • 2019 v11s are pretty much OOS everywhere, but most of them were at $1000 mark during covid season. (the cheapest i have seen was v11 torque drive was at $899 however it comes without the soft cleaner head)

for the newer 2020 v11s (which have better suction power and swappable battery) will probably go on sale later this year, I'd say September but it won't be around $800 likely at $900 something

I still find it hard getting over the fact of paying $700 for a vacuum 😬

    • +10

Meh my v6 has lasted over 6 years and still works.
I find it hard getting over people buying cheap electronics that turn to landfill in 2 years.

I find it extraordinary amusing that these corporations have managed to brainwash sections of the population into completely accepting their matra of "Sustainable Living for the Rich Only". Pat yourself on the back buddy.

    • I used to think that, then I bought one (bough the V10 near release so was closer to $1k) and I totally get it. Infinitely better than my old crappy vacuum, convenient to use and store. Honestly, out of the convenience of it have used it far more than I used any vacuum in the past.

I'd get the LG Cordzero if I was paying 700 dollars. Its really good plus it has two batteries.

    • -2

Not even close comparison, probably Samsung VS90 could be comparable. Btw, dyson v11 outsize has removable battery now too, but you just gotta buy extra

      • +1

I am pretty sure techmeister was comparing the LG cordzero to the V10 on this post.

AS a former rep to both brands, at similar costs, the LG Cordzero is indeed the better out of the two. The V10s advantage is that it has a bigger canister and fewer filters to wash but power-wise. On par with each other.

  • my DC59 motorised brush head just died. Not sure if I should upgrade to this, V11 or just buy a secondhand brush-head for now.
mainly use to vacuum around the house. The annoying thing about the dc59 to me is the battery dies so fast

    • Im assuming you leave it on max mode? The v11 normal mode is like 70% stronger than DC59 which was a V6 motor

      • Even normal mode not long enough for me.

        • Means the battery needs to be replaced if it is not lasting more than 10 mins on normal.

    Get a Miele :)
Not as convenient as a cordless but a cordless works as a helping hand to a proper powered vacuum in my opinion. Smaller apartments - cordless is enough but bigger houses need an awesome powered unit and a supplementary one like this for quick cleans.

I have a cordless and a Miele - for a whole house PROPER clean Nothing beats a good unit like a Miele C3 Cat and Dog.

  • id only get the version with replaceable battery though.
