Aww shucks…. Apparently WD120EMAZ White Label inside
WD120EMFZ were in mine
same. Arrived today. Currently going through HD Sentinel now.
It’s been this price for weeks. Not a deal
bought one of these a few weeks ago for $341 delivered.. hope it drops further, need another 1 or 2.
Ordered a couple at $353ish. Hope it shucks good for a NAS.
I got one EMAZ and one EFAZ. The EFAZ seems to be marginally faster in CDM.
i got 2 emaz the other day it seems - passed testing, getting up to 187mb/s. what speeds you getting?
WD120EMAZ: sequential read/write 207.38/208.23 in first run; and 201.94/202.13 in second run.
WD120EMFZ: sequential read/write 219.36/220.79
This speed difference feels consistent with the HD Sentinel whereby it was going at around 199MB/s at the start, and is currently reporting 150MB/s as it nearly finishes the first full write surface test; whereas the EMFZ started at 200+ and near the end was hovering around the 160-170MB/s.
I realise this is anecdotal and not a scientific test, and is done inside the USB enclosure, but I just found it interesting there was a diffference.
are these helium-filled?
There was a 10TB on sale recently that was mentioned in the comments to be air-filled, fairly sure they don't make 12TB air-filled but just want to be sure?
I also was looking for a definitive answer but couldn't find one… that being said, I thought the 10TB air filled drives had a different model number/naming convention.
What’s the code for?
