  • Looks like a great price for 75"

I'll be interested in the comments

    • Yea interested to know if anyone has one?

  • Does it have inbuilt chromecast?

    • +1

I mean it says it does, so presumably yes. It's got Android TV as the OS.

    • +1

All android tv have built in chromecast.

  • Good use of voucher I think, but pq of most Kogan TVs isn't great, especially when watching FTA programmes.

If the source is good, like Bluray or a 4k movie then it's decent.

My experience anyway,75" could use a different panel so would be interested to see what you think.

    • Yea primary input will be streaming netflix/plex/kayo and the odd bit of ps4. Hook up the soundbar and should be good to go hopefully.

Interested to see how inbuilt Android TV is.

My current tv is a 55" Viano - can't be much better or worse I hope. Not the fussiest TV consumer.

Interesting fact that 75" TV is 86% larger area haha

Wow, the price on this deal sucks now. I can't remove that new low price from my memory :D

I was looking at this as a family room TV, but went for the TCL 75P8MR at a similar price, as it has Dolby Vision (same as the Kogan), but also HDR10+, Dolby Atmos (for what it's worth), higher refresh rate, higher contrast ratio, and a three year warranty compared to one:

    • I'm sure you got a better TV. I've been very happy with my 65" TCL here (albeit an older model now)

      • Yea I really wanted the TCL, but couldnt find stock nearby and this Kogan TV ended up costing under a grand with the voucher I had.

        • Yeah under $1k for the Kogan is great bang for buck.

    • Does anyone know much this tv is with good guys commercial? They recently messed up an order of mine and offered me a replacement at the good guys commercial price but then because of stock shortages couldn’t honour that either. This tv is in stock so I might try asking for that

      • I have access to GG Commercial, and that TCL is not available on there unfortunately.

        • Are you able to help me out with a GGC price on a Hisense 75R7 and 75R8?

          • @Dafishie: Neither of those are on the GGC - the only 75 Hisense TVs they have are the 75S8 for $1865 and the 75Q8 for $2995.

However, I also have access to JB Hifi Commercial, and they have the 75R7 for $1950.

Saying that, all of the above prices look to be the same as the current sale prices anyway?

    • TCL = best bang for the buck.

I can't believe how good their quality is.

I'm more interested on how you get that $500 Kogan voucher. The tv, nope won't touch in 100 poles

    • Was with a credit card deal with Kogan. Spend x and get $500 Kogan credit. This was a while back.

  • My thoughts exactly

I've just bought the 50" and 55" of this series. For the price, they're actually not bad. I've had 2 other Kogan TVs in the past. They were acceptable for the price. I'd say this is slightly more than acceptable.

When it's completely black, you'll notice some clouding. When there's something on the screen, you don't really notice it. Android TV is responsive. There's only 4GB of storage, so I wouldn't be installing too many games on there. Streaming apps are fine.

It's a 60 fps. Seems a little less, but still alright. Maybe I'm just used to motion smoothing on my Sony.

Inputs are in an awkward position. It's all at the bottom and not at the side. Probably good for mounting on the wall. Mine's on a TV unit and it's a pain an the arse to get my HDMI and optical cables in.

All in all, I'm happy with the price and the quality. It could be worse.

EDIT: Took a look at the specs on the 50" and 55" models. They say storage is 8GB. Probably true, but actual storage you can use is only 4GB. Must be the OS and the pre-installed apps.

    • Think this is a pretty accurate review. I got the 75" today, it's huge haha!

Blacks are pretty good, nothing that will ever bother me as a causal viewer. Also had 4gb available storage, which although small is fine for my purposes (streaming apps pretty much).

Inputs don't really bother me, it's pretty much a one time issue, HDMI1(arc) is on the side with the DTV input and a USB port. Arc worked pretty much straight away with my soundbar and then I also used the optical out for my cieling speakers.

I would say at the end of the day 1.2k is still a fair chunk of change, way more than I've ever spent on any tv. (Previous is a $400 viano 55inch), if the tv holds up and doesn't have issues, I would say it's not a bad deal!

  • TV arrived today, so far so good. Seems pretty slick, will test with a movie tonight.

Was pretty easy to get ARC and optical out working.
