Nokia E63 Black - $89.10 Delivered Locked to Optus

70

The GF "needed" a new phone and decided she wanted an e63.

This was easily the best deal we could find - locked to Optus unfortunately but there are ways around that.

$89.10 delivered vs $99 or $119 at Optus shops…

      and decided she wanted an e63

      Video or you're a true OzB tightarse!
      Who WANTS an E63 these days? Especially when you can pick up an Android touchscreen around the same price!

        Some people still prefer the qwerty keyboard although this offer by Optus sounds more like getting rid of old stock.

        $70 unlocked would be an honest and fair deal on OzBargain.

      • Who WANTS an E63 these days?

        Maybe it is fashionably retro now? More than 3 years old, and far from cutting edge back then.

        It's a great phone with awesome battery life! Easily lasts me 2 or 3 days whereas the cheap Android barely last 1 day.

        Although, having said that, if I was getting a new phone right now I'd probably go for an Android instead =P

    • yuk. rly. she didn't want a nice full capacitive touchscreen ?

    i think she meant a Mercedes E63 AMG =P

  • Either way this is a very good deal,

    I recently sold my one year old unlocked used handset on Ebay for 68 $

    So new for this price is a good deal…

  • What really annoyed me about this phone is that the independant retailers had it for $99 in Optus bundles, but Optus stores were still charging $119 and wouldn't match the independent prices.

    We would have paid $99 if we could get black elsewhere (they only had white) so was pleased when we found black online for $89.10.

    It appears Optus offer free shipping and 10% off for all prepaid handsets online - knowing this I'll never buy a handset at an Optus shop again…

    • Optus' dealers are often the source of complaints to the TIO and damage to Optus brand.
      I made 2 complaints and my 2 friends made 1 each one month later all from the same dealer chain.
      Just be very careful of crocks.

    • I bought a Nokia E63 from Dick Smith (locked to Virgin Mobile) a while ago for $109, when Virgin Mobile's stores had it for $129 and Optus had it for $149!

  • ref " locked to Optus unfortunately but there are ways around that." please do tell? ive been trying to find a free way to unlock mine .

  • asking you to pay for your loyalty never makes sense to me

  • The GF "needed" a new phone and decided she wanted an e63.

    I'm not sure why you say that like it's a bad thing.
    Just saying..when my girlfriend "needs" something it's a damn sight more than a $90 phone. =[

    Now that the E71 is down to $129 if you want a quality 2008 QWERTY handset (!!??) I'd have to recommend the $40 extra for the E71 rather the chopped-down version of it - whoch is what the E63 is.
    E63 has no GPS;
    E63 has a plastic case rather than E71's metal case;
    E63's maximum internet download connection speed is 384kbps rather than E71's 3.6Mbps;
    E63 has 2MP camera instead of E71's 3.15MP;
    E63 is 13mm thick rather than E71's 10mm

    Oops - was about to ask if the E63 included Nokia's free voice guidance - forgetting no GPS!!!

    I still use my Nokia E71 - with my Android 3G tablet when I want other internet things. For OS travel I love being able to use Nokia's downloaded maps on the GPS with voice guidance even where I have no data connection!

  • I have an E63 with GPS on it.

    • Not an internal one, you don't.

      • Some apps seem to be able to get location without GPS (eg. the "Gravity" Twitter client can). I think they use triangulation with the phone towers.
