  • These or the dome style camera? Specs seem to be the same but the domes wouldn't stick out as much I am thinking..

    • The cameras are bullet type with a FOV of 97°.

Edit, sorry I misread your comment. Yeah, these do stick out, but probably is more noticeable (and a better deterrent?)

I've got these exact bundle and use them outside of the property and 2 domes inside. The domes are more suitable for confined space but yeah the specs are the same

    • +2

Generally domes should be avoided outdoors, except where you do not want people to see where the camera is pointing.
Domes suffer from a lot of reflection glare.
Turret style are good for a more discreet look, but generally (comparing similar models, bullets will have better quality images and lenses).
      Bullets are good deterrents

  • Got excited for $421.29 for a second there. A great deal even when converted to AUD.

    Good find mate.
I believe this is the first time 4K have been on a discounted price (other than aliexpress)

Decent cameras. Both bullet and dome have same specs (4k = 8 MP)
There customer service team is really good and i think the quality of these is better than many other similar prices ones in the market.

Note: They (4k version) can not be used with any other NVR or bule iris however the 5 MP ones can .

Just my own research and experience . I have both.

    • Can the NVR take on other brands though?

You should try NeoLink, it's a Proxy to allow these cameras to work with BlueIris.
It was specifically designed for this model (B800) which are specifically called our by Reolink as not supporting BlueIris.

adgnetworks - i got a generic camera to work using a POE plugged into the nvr

Swann (often re-sell rebadged, but firmware crippled Reolinks) and get bagged out a bit here, and sometimes by myself.
But this is actually a decent deal with good Reolink cameras.

I personally use Dahua pro range, but honestly in some aspects eg: (extremely long night vision range), easy of setup these are superior.

Even for the CAMS, 2 TB HDD and cables this is a good deal.

Using NeoLink you can use these with BlueIris. It was specifically designed for this model (B800) which are specifically called our by Reolink as not supporting BlueIris.

    What I am not a fan of;
    - Field of View isn't super wide, so best suited to be mounted a little high. I personally prefer vari focus, but you pay a lot more.
    - The ring of LED's look great at night, but they attract the spiders who build their web across the lens
    - I prefer the turret style as they are more discreet, but these stand out as a better deterrent and overall the bullet styles picture quality tends to be better (comparing like to like models ofcourse).

    These don't support H.265 compression

Would anyone know whether it's possible to get a mix of cameras? I'm interested in two of these bullet-style and two turret-style cameras (the D800).

    • it looks like you can but you have to buy the components individually.
Unless you contact them and convince them to personalise something for you.

    • Thats what i want to know… I think reolink doesn't support Google assistant / Amazon Alexa

  • I’ve heard there are security risks reolink being exposed to the internet. Yes anything exposed to the internet will have security risks but is there anyway to reduce the risk? Or is in BI the best method? Only prob is I like the ease of a NVR and don’t really want to have to set up a PC just for a camera system etc.

    • Set the cameras nvr up on a separate vlan and all IoT devices

  • Picked up thr 4k turret type a few days ago and being delivered today for $580

    • Where from? Is that price still available?

      • From there Ali store and nope its over

        • Wasn’t it $580 pre 10% tax tho?

          • @stuarty9: Yes, kinda but I actually got it cheaper then 580 using cashrewards cashback and their coupons available at the time, so my delivered cost is less then 580 which offset the tax part. Couldn't post thr deal as they only have a few available

    • From where?

  • What's involved in stalling one of these systems? Is it easy for a novice?

    • Easy yes. They are POE which means it's just a ethernet cable to both power and Rx the feed. Very easy to do but technically illegal cos Australia has stupid cabling laws but stuff that and do it yourself if your comfortable chasing and pulling cables through crawl spaces, ceiling and cavities. Reolink actually also include a mounting template and 4x 18m lengths of cable.

      • Cool, thanks. Got a new house build about to start so good opportunity to get it in place.

        • Yep just terminate in the eve pocket or roof space on a single gang depending on how you plan to mount them
