PS: You can get the Bose QC35 II (Silver) for the same price from Allphones eBay with eBay Plus Code 'PVOLTAGE'

    • Anyone know where to get black stock at a lower price than Myer/JB have advertised ($159)?

The 2nd gen have been out for ages now, since Sept 2017 based on a quick Google check. I’d expect these to be way cheaper.

  • Series 1 for that price when you can find series 2 for about the same?

Identical other than one has google assistant. A feature I've never used… am I alone?

      • No, I have no use for and never want Google Assistant. Its why I prefer the 1. That and I think the 3.5mm cable works sans power on the 1.

The only issue with the 1 I have had is the earcups are crappy quality, I got a replacement set of cups from Aliexpress for a couple $s that are very good (I just looked at the reviews on Ali as there were so many on offer).

      Series 1 vs 2:

      • no google assistant button
      • can listen to audio with 3.5mm jack plugged while power off
      • comes with flight adaptor
      • slighter different in the hard case (the bose logo)

      Same:
      - same sound quality
      - same weight
      - same noise cancellation

      • FWIW you can still trigger google assistant on the series 1 but with the dedicated button on the series 2 it's a bit snappier (https://community.bose.com/t5/Headphones-Archive/QuietComfor…)

I've had my series 1 since 2017 and they've been great! Just had to replace my earcups after about 2.5 years for $25 (really easy DIY too).

  • Only 30 bucks cheaper than Myer

Be very careful with the older series Bose. If they were manufactured in 2017 then the battery is already 3 years old. You can't get battery replacements for these and bose won't do shit to help you if it's just outside of the one year warranty.

  • I have both the Series 1 and 2. I prefer the first version. Simply because I prefer the carry case the originals came in. It has a flight adapter holder in it. And the assistant button doesn't get used. Just my 2 cents. My Series 2 QC35 were sent back to Bose because they kept cutting out. The replacement QC35 Series 2 that came from Bose to replace the defective one I sent. Is still wrapped in plastic.

Anyone have issues with the noise cancelling feature degrading after updating the firmware to 3.0.3? I've rolled back to firmware 2.5.5 but it's still the same. Bose support won't help due to out of warranty period. They're offering 20% discount off $300 for the QC35ii.
