I bought a microsoft sidewinder in 1996. It's serial port with usb adapter and still works like new.
I didn't know about that. I threw it away a couple of years ago.
Whhyyyyy, we are OzBers. We never throw away stuff!!!
Still got mine. waiting for the new version of MS Flight Simulator to come out
I was thinking the same thing! Though I reckon I got it 2 for $50…
Wow - saw this and thought it looked rather like the one I had 15 years ago to play Freespace 2 (which was vintage even then)….
Makes me miss the Cyborg one I had in the 90s. ;-)
I bought one a while back… never used yet…. just seemed a good idea at the time :)
Only way to play X-Wing Alliance is with this bad boy
That's a funny way to spell 'Tie Fighter'
Just putting this out there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0eRkhR1z6A
Yeah those are the games I was thinking…. been in my Steam pile of shame forever.
whats the point of it so little game support.. I bought one and unfortunately not much can use it :( would be nice tho!
Only needs an interest in one flight/space sim game to be justified.
I found mine on the street years ago!
The thing about this is that if you buy it (and it's still listed on the Logitech G website under gamepads as a current product), you have to install Logitech Game Software v5.10.
The most recent version of LGS is v9.02.65, and now they're trying to push everyone over to the damnably awful G-HUB.
Nothing more recent than v5.10 will recognise the E3DP.
Can't windows work with it generically? Would you miss out alot?
Button programming, mainly.
But there are tools that let you map these things to like Xbox controller layout and then it works on games really nicely! I've been doing that with my outdated Thrustmaster Hotas
Who remembers playing Battlefield 2 with this bad boy on Wake Island 2007?
I bought one for exact that reason. Never got used to it so I went back to mouse and keyboard. Bf2 was such a great game!
The good old days.
haha you've brought me back to the days of cracking BF1942 + Desert Combat circa 2003 and then eventually getting frustrated with all the restricted servers. So I emailed EA a sob story about the game being for my birthday etc and lost the cd case, so they gave me a new CD key for free. Then would play el alamein with the apache helicopters like crrrraaazy using this joystick
I do, but earlier than that it was the Cobra or Huey Gunship in Battlefield Vietnam.
Coral Sea into Battle of Britain mate
Anyone getting an error when trying to pay?
Op shop crew checking in. Got mine for $5 with a set of saitek rudder pedals. It just sits in the shed but if I ever get the urge to try flight simulation I'm ready.
Can't believe I used to play Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (the OG) on a 133Mhz PC with a joystick.
I am very very surprised this is even still available, for this price.
Tie Fighter, X-Wing Alliance, Wing Commander, Freespace … those were the days.
Console controller kids got no idea ;)
Tie fighter and wing commander. Such good games. But in my day we had the commodore 64 joystick to play Elite (3o minute load time on cassette tape drive). Just bought this bad boy here to play Elite Dangerous.
Can you please name some more games to play with this joystick? I got one for 10$ earlier from local FB market place, but can not find any good games to play.
Can't think of any recent games up to last 5 yrs using this oldie….
Good old days…
I will play on my laptop, so beyond 5 years would be preferable for me ;)
Got this for $20 last year brand new from someone who purchased it and decided he wasn't gonna use it. I myself still haven't used it yet lmao
I had to rebind the keyboard to get I-War2 working without one of these =\
With the new Star Wars Squadrons announced i think its worth a purchase for me.
Ahh the glory days of xwing / tie fighter.
Not worth. You want 16000m instead because it has hall sensor not old pot style. This model was made in 2003…
I paid $50 for the same joystick 10 or 11 years ago at EB Games. Just looked it up and this thing was first released in 2003! Talk about a stayer
