Get an Animated Person Speaking and Presenting on Your Website for $299 (Normally $990)

06

Ever wanted a sales person that doesn’t sleep, doesn’t need a salary, doesn’t call in sick, works all day every day and can sell to more than one person at once? Well… Bizz Buzz aren’t talking about Frankensalesman.

We’re talking about a live, virtual presenter for your website from Surge Media that can:

  • Highlight the most important areas of your website or business – explain your services and offerings so your visitors clearly understand them or provide instructions for how your visitors navigate and use your website.
  • Give your website a personal touch – choose from 26 presenters who can greet your visitors and establish a personal connection with your website’s visitors (or be filmed yourself at Surge Media’s Brisbane studio)

Other benefits you’d love to know about:

  • Easy to setup – Surge Media can set it up for you for FREE OR give you a simple HTML script that can be dropped into a website in less than 10 minutes
  • Keep your presenter on your site forever and ever – that’s right, this person will help your site’s performance for as long as you want
  • Control when and how the presenter appears – have the presenter appear only for first time visitors or every time someone visits a page. Position the presenter wherever you want on your website.
  • No ongoing costs – Surge Media will host the live presenter video content for you for FREE for as long as you keep the presenter

Post purchase, what process will I follow to make my video just right?

  • Create a winning script – Need assistance in coming up with a winner? Surge Media will provide both online training and offline advice, so you can rest assured you’ll get it right. You’ll have up to 70 words to work with – much more than the typical Surge Media customer needs
  • Select your presenter – Select your professional actor or actress from the Surge Media website and choose whether you want your presenter to appear from waist height upward or in full form
  • Production time – Once you’re satisfied with your script and choice of presenter, it’s time to let Surge Media do what they do best, and provide you with a stunning video personality for your website!

@MODS, besides there first post bizzbuzz post have been fairly unpopular(including the disgraceful SPAM live emails thread), can they have a go in the sin bin until they come up with something that will appeal to the general community? have a look at there post history. pretty appauling!

I just think they dont seem to be a great match for the ozb community, they are more focused towards businesses…which from what i've seen, most people on here are not…

    • +1

      i second that motion…

    • +11

BizzBuzz is now on 30 days ban for lack of interest from the community.

      • LOL woohoo!

bizzbuzz will welcome you back when you have more general deals, ie that first postage one that everyone could use was pretty cool…

        • +1

It's not so much more general deals. More, deals of actual use and worth to people other than those too clueless to recognise a rotten idea when presented with one.

          At least IMO.

      • Go Scotty!

BizzBuzz - don't come back until you include some free paintballs!

"We’re talking about a live, virtual presenter for your website"

live and virtual is an oxymoron

  • +25

Hmm, don't most people find this "feature" annoying on websites?

    • +5

      i do.

    • +6

Yes exceptionally. Most people have the ability to read your crappy marketing spiel themselves. I'm sure if you did any research you would probably find that 99.99% of users look for the first way to kill off these stupid videos (it's not innovative, it's pointless and annoying).

      • +6

Especially if you are visiting a um, sensitive site, and people nearby can overhear. :)

        • +2

And if they don't have a clear option to mute the damn thing,

BTW, I got myself a chrome extension called "mute Tab" that mutes offending tabs :-)

    • BING BING BING!!!!! WE HAVE A WINNER!

    • +4

I dislike unexpected sound if I visit a website and even more so if it's talking!

    • +4

Absolutely. Websites must be silent. I don't care how important you think you are, if your website makes a noise I did not explicitly request you can FOAD. :/

    • +2

      +1

At least next time, as I click the little red X to leave such a site immediately, I can console myself with the fact that they probably wasted $990 implementing that annoying feature.

Did the microsoft office 2000 "office assistant" not teach everyone the lesson how anonoying popup assistants are ?

    • +1

One might as well just use the blink tag! Just as annoying, but much cheaper to implement..

  • +4

Website presentation should be taken care of by HTML and CSS, not flash and javascript. A 'presenter' just consumes your potential client's bandwidth and cpu cycles. Why do you think your website deserves that?

  • +5

    $990 reduced to $299?
I'd rather buy a USB drive that was $17 reduced to $15.

  • +3

Will they all have terrible chroma-keying? :/ The shadowing on her feet is terrible for a paid service.

Actually, this guy has to be my favourite:

MAN she's fugly, they could have at least hired some actors that where appealing to the eye and they used her for there front page too! really not that great advertising!

side note it just occured to me bizbuzz is a business about bargain advertising, not bargains per say…odd…

      • +1

        "MAN she's fugly"

I think an animated character would be better than an slightly fat, ugly actor with crap 80s clothes/hair.
It would drive away sales and make the site look amateur…. bur overall no host at all for the win.

WE SHOULD GET ONE FOR OZBARGAINS, WE COULD HAVE JV COME UP ON YOUR SCREEN AND TELL YOU WHY EACH BARGAIN IS CRAP! AND HOW MUCH IT WAS BEFORE, AND PROVE THAT THERE ARE NO REAL SAVINGS TO BE HAD!!!!!

AHHH CAPSLOCK, cruse control for cool :D

sorry about that got a bit excited!

    • Let vote to have our web presenter, though I dunno if jv is pretty? :)

    • +2

      JV for Ozbargain mascot? :)

      • well either jv or a nekkid chick, but as ozbargain is aimed as a family site and the actors from that site didnt seem like anyone i'd perticually want to see nekkid.

        • +1

I don't think there's much of a choice there for a family oriented website. I mean, who'd want to expose their children to jv? ;)

        • +3
        • "http://tinyurl.com/3he8mj4" is that jv?

        • +1

          "http://tinyurl.com/3he8mj4" is that jv?

Not 100% sure. Hard to tell from the font.

        • +1

          @the discombobul…
"Not 100% sure. Hard to tell from the font."

why? only used to seeing him from behind?

        • why? only used to seeing him from behind?

          "Font" not "front". :)

  • +5

I find this extremely annoying on websites. So paying aud299 for a feature that might annoy and chase away potential customers? hardly worth it.

  • +6

To anyone reading this, please for the love of god do not put one of these terrible things on your website. It is the fastest way to drive away customers. Embed a video on your site that the user can decide to play or not, hijacking a browsers sound without a users permission is so 90's and is the fastest way to have someone to leave your webpage.

Plus, 300 bucks? My god, find a friend with an HDSLR and Finalcut Pro. The technical expertise required to make this stuff is minimal at best. Do a YouTube search for "How to Key Out Green Screen" and in 20 minutes you have learned what these people are charging 300 bucks for.

I wud rather give +ve to all the ozbargainers commenting on this post!!

    Lolz…. what great comments!!

    Loving it!!

  • Frankensalesperson, they said it themselves. Run away fast!

  • spam

  • Oh god I hate these. The moment they appear, I close that browser window/tab…

  • But they always look good in Sci-fi movies.
Especially when they say "Get your ass to Mars"
or "You have 10 seconds to comply"

  • I am shocked at how awkward and scruffy the presenter they are using to "promote" this is…what were they thinking???

Need to travel to Japan and get the tiny, weeny, embryonic beginnings of a clue about corporate presentation.

  • lol, link is dead. Ozbargained?
