  • I am in. Don't know why. Let's see what happens.

  • +3

Almost 23,000 clicks. I might apply for a job with them to process all the refunds.

  • +3

Last year when I bought the drone, the naysayers said “price error you fool!”.

And then I got my drone.

    • Yeah that was from Bunnings though. A very large business that probably could pocket the loss. And i bet that drone wasn't at a 99% loss or any where near it.

I'm not sure about Nisbets though it's extremely unlikely they could pocket a 99% loss.

  • +3

lol i expect a phone call to congratulate me on my purchase but unfortunately shipping will be $4k

  • +5

I love how people keep mentioning the bunnings drone deal as some sort of precedence. Knew when that was honoured it would be game over for any other retailer with a price error

  • Why do I have a feeling that their database is going to get hacked. So much new fresh data for hackers to sell to telemarketers.

  • They will have fun on Monday morning

  • HOw are is to double check the prices once they're upt?

Also 5000$ item but only 2 years warranty??

edit: *hard (see i just double checked my post)

    • +2

      upt

Maybe they double checked but needed to triple check

    • We just had a hard drive replacement at work. 5 grand and only 30 day warranty.

      • did you ask them why so low? wuld just buy elsewhere

        • Vendor specific part. The hard drive was a normal server grade hardrive but they can charge whatever the hell they want because only their own engineer can install that hard drive and the software it contains.

Their whole business model relies on a "service contract" which includes all parts and labor at a lowly price of 100k a year for the system. Opting out of that contract, we are at their mercy when we have a breakdown

  • +1

3.3 Occasionally an error may cause the price published or advertised for Goods to be incorrect, in which case Nisbets will be under no obligation to honour the incorrect price.

  • +12

How many of these would you expect nisbets to hold? 4k blenders aren't exactly flying of the shelf when the industry is fully functioning.. let alone now. Assume these would be shipped direct from supplier/distro and your order will be manually processed tomorrow.

Don't really think it's fair spamming them with nuisance orders in the current climate… each to their own I guess

    • +2

Zero - it even states this promotion is shipped directly from the supplier.

  • Bought. Paid via PayPal. Let's see how this goes…

    • +4

You've just wasted your time, their time and cost them money

  • +6

Great deal for some, but for most people, do you really need this? How many of you don’t even cook once a month? Better save the $50 and get yourself a few Big Mac meals.

  • +18

How many people actually think they will get this?

The reality is you know it'll just be an extra workload for some people for absolutely no reason apart from your idiocy and lack of respect for an error. How about a bit of decency in human behaviour.

The irony is the more people who order this 100% guaranteed mistake, the longer it'll be before they will be able to process the refunds and the longer you will have your funds held from you.

  • +28

25k clicks and the site is still handling the traffic like a champion. That’s the real winner here.

    • -6

      lol. username checks out too

    • Hahahahah - love it :)

  • +3

Nisbets have very poor reviews on product review

Plus postage charges TBC? Going sit this one out, goodluck guys, long odds.

  • +16

    how this will play out…

    • Staff check orders on Monday, sees 1200 orders
    • Manager is alerted and proceeds to fire web assistant for price error or asks them to stay back after hours to "fix" their mistake
    • web assistant proclaims "YOU WASTE MY TIME, I WASTE YOURS TOO B!!!@#HES
    • proceeds to puts all 1200 customer emails on hundreds of spam mailing list
    • +5

proceeds to puts all 1200 customer emails on hundreds of spam mailing list

Exactly why I used comp email, cause this is a competition.

      • Nice one cheaponos I do the same thing! Haven't worked out how to do competitions that ask for my mobile number too.

  • +4

Why would you need a commercial food processor at home lol and it’s nearly 14kg

    • +11

So people can sell it off on eBay for $2000

    • +5

The same reason I buy Bosch blue instead of Bosch green. Blue is the professional range for tradies. I’m not a tradie, but I still want the best.

      • +9

Is this true??? I am the worlds sh!ttest handyman but I have a blue Bosch drill… All of a sudden I feel like a God among men…

    • why buy Ferrari/Lambos when you're not a pro driver?

      • I've seen the exotic car crashes on YouTube. Statically I'm thinking none are pro drivers. All the driver aids in the world and they still tramp them.

  • Me too. Doubt we will get them

  • +5

It'd be very funny if they refund with store credit or credit note only.

    • +1

in Australia they can't do like that…

    • Illegal

    • Illegal, and you can easily do a Chargeback / Paypal Case.

  • ok

  • +11

I'm going straight to Consumer Affairs if these miserable bastards stuff me around with my brand new whats its name.

  • +2

20k clicks.. surprised their site hasnt meltdown yet…

  • +21

This is obviously a mistake. Please don't make an order and cause more headaches as Australian businesses are already suffering enough.

    • +10

That IS NOT the OzBargain culture I think you cam to the wrong website by mistake?

      • +8

Lol what is the ozbargain culture? U haven't been here long enough to say that

      • +7

ozbargain culture? you need a reality check.

you buy this, your money will be tied up for a week whilst they process returns.

You didn't get a bargain, you gave paypal a mini loan for the week at your expense. ozbargain fail!

        • +1

          Ok nostrodamus

        • -3

Depending on how badly we wanted to Ozbargain them or provide them with retribution. If you had alot of people use Paypal, and they all raise a Paypal Case against you, it would essentially bring down their business account…..

          • +2

@lplau: Seems unnecessarily vindictive to do something such as that. Businesses are suffering enough as it is, why pile on the hurt?

You already knew going in that this is a pricing error. Its ridiculously obvious.

Karma's gonna be a one hell of a bitch to you when its your turn.

  • Hope everyones refund comes through quick. Now they will be very busy it could take 4 weeks+

    • I wonder if this is a ploy by their online department to keep themselves employed…

  • I have no idea what i am going to use it for, but will most likely get one :D

    • +2

unless you pay a LOT more, you will not be getting one

  • +6

If they supply all the orders, it'll be known as Robodebt

    • +1

yeah not gonna happen. If they supply all the orders it will be robobankrupt. 1000 orders with a potential loss of $2000+ an order will be a $2 million+ in losses.

  • +13

A couple of comments if I may. I actually work for a company that sells these. We sell and supply hospitality and catering equipment. The original price is about right and although this might be an error please DO NOT FEEL BAD ABOUT CREATING HASSLE OR MORE WORK FOR NISBETS.

They are well known in our industry to be the bottom feeders that cater for for the lowest common denominator. They are the Kogan of the hospitality supply industry and they deserve all the hassle this will likely cause them.

    • Mate I placed an order, but going from your Kogan association, I really hope they don't issue credits as opposed to a refund!

FYI for prospective buyers (and current buyers)

3.3 Occasionally an error may cause the price published or advertised for Goods to be incorrect, in which case Nisbets will be under no obligation to honour the incorrect price.

    • +2

that's the owners. The staff are just people and some of them are gonna have to deal with this and may be disciplined

      • Or maybe the staff created this scenario so that they don't get made redundant :)

  • 28K clicks. that’s gonna be a lot of refunds

  • +9

Do I need one - NOPE, do I want one - NOPE, did I just buy one - Hell YES!!!!

    • +1

did you just hand someone a short term loan at your expense - Hell YES!!!!!

      • +3

You sound like the owner lol. I hope it is haha 😂.
        Get over it!!!

  • +2

I think I used up my price error karma after winning the Bunnings Mavic 2 lottery. This deal however would be deal of the decade easily if successful.

  • +5

did anyone get a message saying they will call re delivery?

  • +3

Poor form to do this, especially in the current climate.

    • +6

…plenty here would have bought multiples as well…you know for 'gifts'

      • +1

There was a post yesterday about them being up on gumtree already, lol.

    • +1

Poor form to take OzB money by faking a price error, knowing the OzB faithful would willingly hand over cash “just in case”, then go bankrupt and use said cash to repay large creditors?

  • +3

    Very clever SEO trick….

  • +3

Nah, they probably need some cash to pay a large bill (while waiting for a cheque or transfer to clear). They use all OZB buyers monies to cover it and then refund you all in a couple of days once their cheque clears. Great way to get ready cash quickly :-)

  • +2

It’s a little concerning when you can order 1/2 million $ of these there stock inventory system lol.

  • +2

i think they are going bankrupted and are collecting $50 notes at this point.

    • +1

      Best bankruptcy strategy ever

  • I wonder what the cost will be for postage , could I pick up the item from them instead

  • +3

Stupid post. Obvious price error, you're just creating a headache for the staff having to manually process refunds etc. To all the people who ordered this, I hope your it takes weeks to get the money back from your cancelled order.

    • +7

Agreed……….and wait for all the whingers who complain about it not being honored and threaten to report Nisbets to Fair trading or the likes. I feel sorry for their staff and the person who made the mistake. Not good as mistakes can and do happen. Going to a lot of work for them to have to deal with refunds etc tomorrow.

    • +1

      ….stupid now….but will also be hilarious at around 9:30am - 10am tomorrow morning 😉

      • +4

Enjoy processing all the refunds franco 😉

        • -1

i'll be too busy experiencing an immense amount of schadenfreude to process any refunds 😄😄😄

  • +2

One thing is very odd. If this deal is a price error how come the link is not down or the price is not changed? Is the like ONLY ONE PERSON working at Nisbets, and that person happened not to have access to the company email account or website on the weekend.
How come many hundreds orders have been made and x amount of money has been transferred to the company and still after more than 13-15 hours the website is still unchanged.

    • +1

Its the weekend. Chances are the take it off like many online places.

      • But for me it's still very odd. Emails had been flooded Nisbets since today's early morning. Why haven't ANY of the tech at Nitbets deleted the link or maybe changed the price so maybe they dont have to deal with several hundreds more refunds…

        • +4

Because it is not monitored. Emails probably just go to the sales team who are enjoying the weekend? Hope it was relaxing as tomorrow won't be!

    • Agreed. Wouldn't it finally sell out?

    • will link be active tomorrow?
and did anyone here score this price error

  • +3

    Plot Twist:

Nisbets to enter administration tomorrow, creditors surprised with surplus cash..

    • +1

Hence why I threw my hat into the ring for fun but only with bank deposit option

  • +1

everyones missed the actual bargain here https://www.nisbets.com.au/mitre-essentials-slippers-closed-…

  • +1

Freight charges to be applied, We will call you after you have submitted your order to confirm delivery costs and timelines,

    Confirm postage after pay?? Riskkky.

    • Postage for me was $25

  • ordered. this should be fun

  • +1

Oh man this is going to be a costly mistake for them. PayPal unfortunately don't refund the fees when you refund a buyer (which sucks big time).

  • +6

    Hi

thank you all for the loan. We needed some immediate cash for the next few weeks to get by. We promise that we will pay you back. We will send out emails over the next few weeks and assure you that your money will be repaid within 4 weeks. I know it seems a bit dodgy doing this but I guess you all must have know it was a pricing error so no hard feelings hey.

yours sincerely and lots of love

    Mr Nisbet

it won't do their Biz brand/reputation any good, trust me. long term effect would be more devastating.
