Been looking for stock pots to cook cabbages to cook Polish Golumpki. A lot of places are out of stock or sell for stupid prices. This one caught my eye as it fits a large cabbage and is induction compatible.

Almost everywhere seems to have this one out of stock and of those who do have in stock, appears Amazon has it the cheapest delivered. Even Amazon has limited options appearing in search for similar size and price.

For comparison sake other retailers selling for below (some + shipping). According to Stanley Rogers website RRP $189.95, and even they sold out at this inflated price. A more realistic average selling price is about $100.

The Nile Australia - $86.50
StanleyRogers - $189.95 (OOS)
Templeandwebster - $89.00 (OOS)
Kitchenstyle - $99.95 (OOS)

Kmart, Big W and Target similar sized cheap stock pots all seem to be OOS

For big pots like that your best bet is the commercial suppliers that hotels and restaurants use. I spent ages looking for a reasonably priced pot for making huge stews, marmalade, curries etc. and had no luck. Then I found the gold mine of commercial suppliers. Careful, you might end up with more cookware than you have space for!

    • Forgot to add, I got a 20 litre pot for about $50.

      • Thanks for the tip. Will be on the lookout once prices and stock availability return to normal 👍 even eBay prices are absurd for low quality generic flimsy pots.

If you make stock regularly and have the space for it, you can get a really big stock pot with a tap. Even commercial suppliers seem to be crazily expensive, but placers like brewers' forums can have good advice on adding your own tap to an existing pot. It makes removing fat and avoiding sediment much easier. It's also handy as a way of serving hot liquids (tea/coffee/hot water/soup) at a party or barbecue.

    • where get

  • Aldi had a good one but gone like crazy…

  • Great deal

Same price i paid from catch a few week ago, good pot has internal markings to let yu know how much liquids in their. i use it to mash my grains for homebrewing. great for small batches.

  • Good price!

  • There is a 15L one for $20 at Big W, I was going to buy that but scored a 11L one at Aldi that was pulled out of the box after the frenzy. Have made 2 batches of epic PHO soup so far with it.

    • The Big W one I saw for $20 was 19 litres but on website can't find any stock in VIC and even though option was available for delivery + $7.95 it wouldn't let me check out.

Same story at Kmart and Target couldn't find stock anywhere.

Bummed I missed the Aldi ones.

Really getting into meal prepping of late and freezing everything. Saved money and lost a bit of weight in process during lockdown so a bit chuffed
