Telstra/JB plans include more data, are cheaper and a better network imo

  • Will this apply to the find x2 pro optus with additional $300 gift card?

    • I don't think so, because thats an Optus/Oppo offer, whereas this one is a HN offer. In this deal, you will be purchasing device from HN if you want to use $700 GC.

  • Got this yesterday. This seems good as I got the $700 gift card and spent it on a laptop.
Don't need to a new phone for now, so JB deal doesnt work for me.
I was told the exit clause is basically repaying the $700 gift card.

12 month offer is better IMO. Repeat with JB or GG offer next year.

    • How do you repeat becoming a new customer with Optus each year?

      • JB/ GG is Telstra

        • Oh right so just keep switching your number to different carriers

You put your left port in.
You put your left port out.

  • So they removed the bonus Beats headset with the purchase of an apple mobile? In that case JB Telstra deal for mobile plan is much better

  • So in theory, as an existing Optus customer, I could move to a cheap pay-as-you-go Telstra plan, then sign back up for this?

  • What's the go with early termination for these plans?

CIS says maximum $780 cancellation fee (i.e. 12 months) on the $65 plan.

  • Does this have international calls?

  • Be aware that there is no way to cap your data on these Optus plans. Once your data allowance is used you will be charged $10 per Gb. You do NOT have the option of not receiving this excess data. Fine for single mobile phone use. But this caught me out as I share data with a hotspot sim in my apartment and an update happened while I was at work (I think it was the Google Hub Max I got from GG for $129, so my savings there went to Optus). They'll stop the automatic add-on after an additional 150 gb ($1500 !!). Luckily my excess was 'only' 6gb. I'm porting in 2 weeks to a plan with no cap.

A lot of phones have an inbuilt feature that allows you to set your bill cycle and set a data limit, I usually set mine a few GB less than what my data allowance is, just to be safe.
