    $7000 off the typical price

what does 'typical' price mean ?

The TITLE of this deal is very very misleading….

    • Whap-wow.

  • +1

Sounds way too good to be true. Doubt they'd give $7000 off a low end Barina or similar cheap Holden.

    • +2

if it was $7000 off the negotiated price, i'd give this a +ve but there are no details on what the actualy price is…

      • +1

Well the retail price of the lowest end Barina Spark is around $15000, so $7000 off would be nearly half price which I can't see them ever selling it for.

        • you think they'll give you a new barina for $8000… and pigs fly…

      • I would call the dealer to check the price first. $299 is way too much to pay to find this out.

Better still you could prolly talk to your local dealer rather than go interstate and have to drive it back…

  • +1

It's up to $7000 off. It says you will be able to buy the car at the dealer's invoice price (cost price), so maybe you should put that in the title.

    • +2

Ok so what ARE the dealers prices?

      The deal is ridiculously vague.

      • You'll probably need to ask the dealer to find out. Any car dealers here?

    • It's up to $7000 off.

so you might only end up getting $299 off then ??????

      • +1

        Or perhaps even less.

  • +1

"with up to a staggering $7000 off the typical price (saving is dependent on type and value of vehicle.)"

    • And:

      • If factory campaign happens to be less than the dealer invoice then Westpoint will honour the campaign pricing
      • Offer does not include stamp duty, registration and third party insurance which are compulsory
Stamp duty is calculated on recommended retail price. 3% for four cylinder vehicles, 3.5% for six cylinder vehicles and 4% for eight cylinder vehicles
    • +1

so what are the REAL discounts?

    • $7000 will be off a Caprice :P

Oh and u cant use this on HSV id say…

  • very misleading.UP TO $7000 off not $7000 off.some commodore models already selling UP TO $11,000 OFF from their unrealistic rrp.

  • +1

Can someone give us a pricing example so we can assess if there is any value here.

    • Yeah, any car dealers around to give us an example?

I think the day a salesman actually reveals their cost prices is the day they stop being salesmen.

  • Lol you know with this deal, if someone's bought the voucher on impulse, theyre pretty much commited to buying the car!

    • They've sold 26 vouchers so far so that's a good sign for the vendor.

  • The best you will get is $6701 (since you have to pay $299 for the coupon) and the worst is you may end up with a lemon!

Trying to outstmart a Car Salesman - Good Luck!

  • +1

i reckon $7000 off only applies to the most expensive car plus all the extras you can think off

  • some things should not be group dealed - cars for example

  • what a spam

  • Too many unknowns …if there was drive away prices using this voucher that would be a different story

  • This advertisement should go in the forums

  • My guess is that one of the first questions you'll be asked as you sit down to negotiate the price is 'do you have a voucher?', which will determine the deal subsequently offered to you.

i wish i could neg this more than once. such a misleading offer shouldnt even be on ozbargain in the first place.

"we'll even show you the invoice!"

awesome, and i'll show you a personal bank account with a 1 billion dollar account balance too.

    • Done!

  • this is a load of crap

there's a car there i want that is $20k driveaway

i will buy a coupon right now if i can get that car for $13k… but this smells like a giant scam

  • it is only cover the car service and roadside assist

  • We are looking at buying a Captiva 7, so I was quite interested in this offer. I rang the dealer yesterday asking about prices, was told someone would ring me back. They did and could not give me a price, told me that it was against the rules that Cudo gave them. They just kept repeating that it would be a big discount and worth my while to buy it. I did not buy it as I had no idea how much the discount would be. The guy also said they had sold 20 cars yesterday because of this deal.

    • Funny if this were actually an incredible bargain.

      • It would be, but another thing the guy told me was the employee discount was far greater then this discount. So if anyone knows what the employee discount is on a Captiva, maybe we could work it out.

    • do you trust what this car salesman said to you? especially when he said 20 cars was sold yesterday. unfortunately, i can't check how many voucher was sold yesterday. but you can buy it then if you are not happy asked refund with cudo
