Bought it on Friday for this price, would highly recommend. Don't know if I'd pay the full price for it though.
Seems like it's not overly peaty/smoky? Once you go smoke it's hard to go back :/
I'd say it's got very light smoke, if not at all. Very smooth though, I like it.
It’s a Highlands whisky, which are not renowned for being smoky. It’s not as fruity as something like Glenmorangie, it’s got more of a tart, astringent tang. I’ve also tried their 18yo and don’t think it’s worth the premium price, the Original and the 12yo are superior IMHO.
My 2c is to try this in the taster pack first. The 12 year Loch Lomond is the pick of 3 for me (12 > 18 > original); the original had a bitter, industrial taste. For $50 I'd rather have Johnnie Black or Naked Grouse. Cheers
