  • Not an ebay plus item hey:

"“Selected Item” means the eBay Plus item displayed at: https://www.ebay.com.au/b/Special-Offers/bn_7109744159"

    https://tc.ebay.com.au/plusmonthdealsjune20

    • It is Plus now but wasn't during the sale. gamesmen flipped the Plus status, you can thank them for it.

  • +11

According to tracking, Australia Post only just received the shipping information! What a joke.

It's after COB the day before release, for crying out loud!

    • Estimated delivery - Friday 26th June, next damn week!

      • +2

Lol. Yep mines for Wednesday. (profanity), should've kept my $63 Amazon preorder. Looks like I'm driving to JB tomorrow then.

        • +2

I did exactly the same and now im kicking myself.

          • @PlagueistheCheap: I freaking sold my Amazon pre-order thinking I had mine today. Thought my eBay copy also arrived but clicked on a different order.

          • +1

@PlagueistheCheap: me too, regretted that I nagged this "deal" and cancelled the $63 Amazon preorder!

    • My tracking is still saying Pending. Has yours already been scanned??

  • 26th for me as well.

  • +1

Since I couldn't wait until next week to neg them on eBay I've gone ahead and left a 1-star review for Gamesmen on Google - I encourage everyone else in the same situation to do the same.

    • 6000+ reviews with 4.9 score, sad to say thats not gonna make a dent

      • They did 606 copies of this game using this deal. That's almost 10 percent. If we ask gave one star, it'll make a dent.

    • +1

I will wait it out to Neg them.

  • +4

ETA Thursday for Melbourne. Absolute joke…

  • Pretty disappointing .. will just have to wait till next week -_-

  • +2

I seriously don't think we will get the get on Monday with regular post guys, probably mid or late next week

  • Has anyone actually received an update from AusPost because the only email I've gotten has been from Gamesmen with a tracking number that still says Pending -_-

    • +1

My Auspost changed at 4:58 to

"It's being prepared, We'll let you know when it's on its way – usually within 3 business days – and when to expect delivery. Most recent update, Shipping information received by Australia Post"

      • Try using auspost.com.au for the most up-to-date tracking

        • +1

I did and it says - Pending, No updates yet, Looks like your item hasn't been scanned yet. Please try again later.

At this point I feel like just driving there and picking it up in person LOL. They gave me a new express label but haven't even shipped it -_-

    • +3

My tracking updated at 5:30pm with:

      Item processed at facility
      STRATHFIELD NSW

      • +1

        Same for me.

      • I just got it processed at Strathfield - 8:30 PM express post - expected tomorrow :D

      • Yep if it's in Stratty, then I definitely expect it to arrive tomorrow. Otherwise not happy Jan!!!

        • +1

My delivery estimate updated to Mon 22-Thur 25. It’s definitely not arriving today. :/

  • Sounds like it's been a bit of a balls up. It clearly says Free Express Shipping on the eBay Plus Month banner, not sure why they're trying to weasel their way out of it.

Are they trying to say that we should have chosen the $7 Express Shipping option and it would have been waived?

Sad for people that wanted to play it tomorrow. I was planning on playing the first one before I play the new one, so I don't mind getting it late.

    • Yeah I haven't finished the first one either so I guess it isn't all to bad.. but I do understand those who wanted to play on day 1

      • +1

I foolishly started the first one again. Well what was foolish was choosing grounded mode. I'm trying so hard to get it finished before I get the next one and my sleep has been suffering.

        • +1

Haha, did the same last Saturday (trying for that trophy glitch with NG+) thinking I could easily blitz the game before tomorrow, but I've only just reached Tommy's Dam! That Pittsburgh level was such a slog on Grounded, took me 3 days.

          • +1

@Mega Vanillish: Grounded mode is seriously like playing a puzzle game. Lots of tightly packed options for each new area. Was a lot of fun to get through even though it took me a couple weeks

          • @Mega Vanillish: Financial district my goodness!

            Struggling to conserve ammo too.

    • +1

That was eBays argument to me. That is was my fault I picked standard and should have paid for express. My argument that it should have been free fell on deaf ears. They literally do not care one bit.

      • +1

That's BS. I had 4 preorders from Amazon including last of us 2. All arrived on release except FF7 Remake which arrived early. I was stupid to sell my Amazon copy.

  • Next problem: Returns are free for ebay plus items. But this (item bought during the 30 day ebay plus sale) is apparently not an ebay plus item??

"You can return any eBay Plus order for free within 30 days. We'll provide you with a return postage label for Parcelpoint or Australia Post, then you just need to drop the parcel off."

This is ridiculously hard to wrap your head around.

    • +1

But it is an eBay Plus item because it’s listed in their eBay Plus Month promotion - so I think we are more than within our right to be entitled for a free return since they have not honored the express delivery as it’s so clearly stated in the T&C.

      • I've already been through all of this with eBay Chat 3 times this week.

The game was NOT a Plus item during the Big Bang sale, gamesmen flipped the Plus status ON after the event.

    • +1

The game is now listed as an eBay plus item with free express delivery. Apparently is wasn't when the sale went live (I'm blaming Gamesmen as its them who choose whether or not to make the item Ebay plus eligible). So hopefully it goes off the current listing and not what they had at the time otherwise we will be screwed again for wanting to return it.

      • No Paypal free returns?

        • I guess so, i'm not sure, this whole thing has been a big mess.

      • So hopefully it goes off the current listing

Nope. Spoke to eBay about this today, it was not a Plus item during our sale so we get none of the Plus benefits.

        • That sounds like a cop out, someone has stuffed up. This was clearly part of the 30 Days of Deals in the eBay Plus Month. So they are saying that it's part of an eBay Plus members only sale, but it's not an eBay Plus item. Obviously just trying to cover up for someone's mistakes.

They've been advertising the 30 Days of Deals on the radio all month and stating the free express shipping there as well.

        • Of course that is what they are saying now to wiggle out of it…

It clearly was an item that was part of "eBay Plus Month" - it's even proudly listed in the "Sold Out" list on the promotion page ("15/6 The Last of Us Part 2 PS4 Game 600 units")

Their own T&C's clearly state "4.1.2. If your delivery address is located in an eligible metro postcode, you are also entitled to a free upgrade to an express postage service offered by eBay Plus sellers on eBay Plus items, excluding the following sellers: big-w-online, myer_store_official, danmurphys_au, babybunting and binglee;"

The Gamesmen and eBay may try to claim a technicality that it doesn't apply as it was a preorder, but show me where that is stated in the T&C's (hint: it isn't).

          • @Jad: I've argued with the gamesmen and ebay on the issue several times today and unfortunately, we are the ones who lose out and surprisingly neither of them are in the wrong. Here's the lengthy reply & info from the gamesmen:

Our apologies for the confusion and inconvenience caused here. We appreciate your feedback.

We ship all orders 1-2 days before release date depending on location in Australia due to heavy regulation from PlayStation. This is to give you the best chance of receiving this on release day, but to also ensure customers do not receive it before the strict release date.

Customers who have currently had their games shipped via express post have done so by opting into the express post option with an additional charge at time of check out when taking advantage of this heavily discounted deal.

This item was a pre-order and not a ready-to-ship item. This means that it was unable to ship in 1-2 days as per eBay Plus guidelines, thus this item was not applicable for the eBay plus free express upgrade. We are currently working with eBay on how best they can demonstrate this information clearly so as to not cause any issues for future customers.

If you're unsatisfied, you're more than welcome to return the game for a full refund

  • +9

Words can't even begin to express how disappointed I am after reading these new developments above. An express C5 envelop costs approx $6. It's just so stingy on the sellers part especially after selling such a high volume of copies.

I should have kept my Amazon $63 preorder.

    • You and me both mate. I received my Amazon pre-order early arvo but sold it because I promised a buyer and thought this would arrive on time.

  • +1

I paid the extra $7 and Aus Post tracking says it will be delivered tomorrow, but I feel for you guys. What a stuff up.

    • +1

I would of paid extra $7 to get tomorrow as well, but because of that stupid competition to buy in 10 seconds I didn't event notice that option.

      • +4

Yep, and it's possible the time taken to re-check and change that shipping option might have been the difference between getting a copy or missing out. It should've just been the default option, as specified in the T&C. Massive stuff up on their part.

    • Ebay said they would refund me if I paid for shipping. Though they also said it wasn't part of the deal in the same chat. Worth checking out on live chat though, it should be free express.

  • +2

Just preordered for click and collect tomorrow at JB. Used 5% off gift cards from Suncorp to make it $65. Will return the eBay one when it arrives (alongside the rest of you I assume!)

    • -4

Or you can return it to JB.

  • +4

I just checked my tracking info and it has been processed at the facility here in Strathfield NSW which means the postie will most likely deliver it tomorrow. Luckily i am in Sydney as well.

But unfortunate for all you interstate guys. A dick move by The Games Men. They should have upgraded each and every order to express post for free and not pull that crap and say preorders can't be sent express post for free during the free express post upgrade.

Time to boycott these guys when it comes to important preorders because chances are they will screw you over with delivery.

Edit. Btw I didn’t pay for express upgrade. Just chose the standard shipping.

    • +5

Sucks even more because they updated the listing to include free express delivery anyway. It's like they knew posting it with regular post wouldn't make it to people on time, so they offer it express.

When I initially was looking at this deal, I looked at previous deals they did for Doom Eternal and there was no complaints about delivery time, so I figured it wouldn't be an issue with this one.

This is the first, and last time I'll be buying from these guys.

    • I was hoping the same. Usually processes at Strathfield the day before delivery for me. Though now there has been an additional scan at 'Sydney' at 2.47am with Delivery expected Monday-Wednesday.

    • +1

I'm in Sydney too, but I don't think we will get today, mine changed from Strathfield to Sydney and expected delivery is Monday. Normally it would say onboard for delivery. Can't believe Gamesmen didn't send it on Thursday.

      • +4

If even people in NSW are not getting it today then there's absolutely no excuse for them to not have sent out on Wednesday.

        • +1

AU post only received yesterday ~5PM, how can anyone receive it in time when AU post clearly states 2-3 days for regular post, plus all delays because of COVID etc.

      • +3

I just checked my tracking earlier and it says the say as you. It went to some other facility in Sydney to be processed at around 2.28am and then now says estimated delivery next week Monday to Wednesday.

I don't understand why it went from Strathfield facility to another facility. It has never does this before.

All i can think of is The Games Men told Australia Post this is a preorder so don't deliver it next day for anyone.

Never again buying from these mob regardless of how cheap it is.

I encourage everyone once they get their order's leave them negative feedback on eBay. All eBay plus items were meant to be sent express post this month so absolute disgraceful behaviour from these idiots for not doing so.

  • I'm a bit further south of sydney, I have definitely received parcel post items within 1 day of chullora before, but realistically I'm thinking Tuesday.

  • +8

I paid for express post and am from Melbourne. Postie did the rounds at around 9am (very early today) and no game. No scanning events since last night at Strathfield.

Given the current situation with Australia Post delays and stuffing up not giving express to everyone as promised by eBay, this has been a monumental cock up by Gamesmen (and then telling a member here that they're all being relabeled, and then not doing that). These should've been sent out Wednesday like JB Hi-Fi and, I imagine, most other retailers would've done. Queue the excuse of "we don't want the wrath of Sony"!

This'll be a negative review and a return from me.

    • Same, mate. Paid the extra $7, expected delivery is Monday.

      • Australia Post still saying Today for me. But given no tracking events, and the parcel guy and postie have both been already today, I don't think it will be here. Pretty disappointing

        • So mine changed delivery estimate again and ended up being delivered. Aus Post tracking is all over the place.

          • @aja12: Yeah mine wen't to "Arrived at facility late" on AusPost around noon. Still says delivery for today. I've had packages come late in the day from Australia Post on later runs, but until I see "On Board For Delivery" my hopes are low.

I'm holding off buying another copy until after 6pm just in case it comes, as I don't want to lose my pre order goodies, no matter how small they are, if I can help it.

            But enjoy the game :)

            • @rldowling03: Thanks mate, hope yours arrives. The irony is that I’m working all weekend anyway, and I’m not nearly as excited as most people are to play it, despite TLoU being one of my all time favourite games.

            • @rldowling03: Just a heads up mate that the pre-order code is separate to the game. It's a small pamphlet they include within the satchel with the game :) I don't think they need it back if you decide to return it (I know this as I got mine today from Gamesmen) Enjoy! :)

              • @knight321: Last thing I need is for them to deny a return because the pre order code wasn't included. If it's not a scratch off one, I'll use it, otherwise I'll leave it so I have the best chance of getting my money back from them, since they likely won't be happy with a bunch of returns from this deal coming back, I guess they might try and deny some of them, but I don't know.

                • +1

@rldowling03: It's not a scratch off code - its a pamphlet with a code on it from Sony.

                  • +1

@knight321: Excellent. I'll likely be done with the game by the time it comes anyway, but good to know. Enjoy :)

  • +2

I heard ads for "30 days of eBay Plus" on the radio this morning. It clearly said free express delivery on all items

  • +7

Received this from then querying late shipment:

    New message from: thegamesmenau (97,274)

We ship all orders 1-2 days before release date depending on location in Australia due to heavy regulation from PlayStation. This is to give you the best chance of receiving this on release day, but to also ensure customers do not receive it before the strict release date - the 19th of June.

Customers who have currently had their games shipped via express post have done so by opting into the express post option with an additional charge at time of check out when taking advantage of this heavily discounted deal.

This item is a pre-order and not a ready-to-ship item. This means that it was unable to ship in 1-2 days as per eBay Plus guidelines, thus this item was not applicable for the eBay plus free express upgrade. We are currently working with eBay on how best they can demonstrate this information clearly so as to not cause any issues for future customers.

So we may begin the refund process, please reach out to eBay membership to take advantage of the eBay Plus membership free returns. So sorry for the confusion.

    Regards,

    The Gamesmen

I have just picked up a copy from JB and as soon as this one arrives returning it back to them.

Very annoyed and disappointed with these guys. Gave them a go after reading how Doom in the previous eBay plus deal arrived mostly on time on the release date. Will be weary to never order from them based on everyone else's experience.

    • +4

Same, will never order from them as well, should of sent on Wednesday, no excuses.

    • +2

Customers who have currently had their games shipped via express post have done so by opting into the express post option with an additional charge at time of check out when taking advantage of this heavily discounted deal.

This is annoying argument - aside from there being literally no mention that the game was exempt from the free shipping promotion, the name of the game is to checkout as fast as possible in order to get the deal. Anyone who spends the time on the checkout screen trying to reconcile shipping options against the terms of the deal is just going to miss out.

I'm going to wait and keep the game when it arrives, I had the COVID test this morning so can't exactly pop down to JB to grab a copy, but I'm looking forward to giving these guys a neg review and never shopping there again.

      • +2

Gamesmen also gave me the same boilerplate response about how it is excluded from Express Shipping blah blah blah….

They have really screwed up this time - unfortunately the number of people who have been wronged by this probably won't make a dent on their sales so I seriously doubt they would face any major repercussions.

  • My estimated delivery is Friday on tracking :( in metro Melbourne

  • -4

Just received my item (The Last of Us Part II) from Amazon. Did anyone who ordered from (Amazon) received there's today?

    • +4

How is that relevant to this deal? Amazon has guaranteed delivery on release otherwise you get a $5 promo credit if doesn't arrive

      • I know my comment isn't going to be relevant to this deal, but can I ask if you have a source for Amazon providing a $5 promo credit if the game isn't delivered on release? I ordered through Amazon and it hasn't arrived yet.

        • +1

Contact Live Chat and tell them that your order didn't come on release date, Amazon should provide you with promo credit.

  • +10

so sad…my estimated delivery is next Mon - Wed… and I live in Strathfield….

  • +1

eBay is now just disconnecting from the chat if you try to complain about this.

    • +2

      That's terrible customer service.

    • They told me that Australians complain too much and that I should read the Terms & Conditions next time.

      • +1

Please take a screenshot of this; would love to see their customer service rep being racist.

        • I don't think it was racist as such, but just saying that a lot of contact from Australia with this issue.

          • +2

@Heaps for Cheaps: I complained and received a $7 eBay voucher. I didn't pay for express shipping. Talking to them through chat is like pulling out teeth took 30 minutes.

You decide whether $7 is worth your time.

  • -8

Guy's do not pre-order, plenty stock at JB HiFi, Target, Kmart. And only $10 more at $69. Why are you guys wasting time pre-ordering? To save $10 and waiting a week extra?

    • +2

Little bit late with this comment I think, you missed the boat.

    • +1

How much is it at Kmart?

      • -1

I think its $69. Price might go up after today though as this is a pre-order special and usually lasts for a day or two after release.

        • +2

Didn't realise kmart sold PS4 games.

          • -1

@SiliconBased: Oh I'm not sure if Kmart still sell games but previously they followed the general market with their new release pricing aha They might've stopped selling video games just as Target is slowly phasing it out now as well.

    • +12

We paid $49, so $20 saved. And this is not just about money, but how eBay/Gamesmen handled it. Will be cancelling my eBay plus and never buy from Gamesmen, vote with your wallet as they say.

      • +1

        +1

$20 bucks plus the inconvenience and no DLC included

        • Mine came with a code for the pre-order DLC?

          • +2

@aja12: I am agreeing with Raspudala and doubling down that:

            1. They forced us to purchase elsewhere for $20 more if we wanted to start playing on release day
            2. Inconveniencing us by having to organise a return
            3. And if like me, if you ordered or bought off the shelf from 12am today, you won't get the DLC. I ordered a copy from JB at 3am today and when picked up it did not have DLC and I was advised only those who ordered prior to today got it via sms and email.
            • @Horrorstory: Out of interest, which JB? I bought Jedi Fallen Order off the shelf from them on release day, and the DLC code was included on the receipt (which I only noticed after finishing the game, lel)

              • @Mega Vanillish: All JBs - none were provide the DLC on the receipt or were provided the pamphlet with the code to distribute instore. Those who were eligible and placed orders prior to 12am were all emailed or SMSd

See email I received from them tonight:

                Hi XXXXXX,

From what I can see, this order was placed last night at 3:52am.

Unfortunately, orders placed after 11:59:59PM 18/06/2020 are not eligible to receive the pre-order bonus and those orders that were eligible for it were notified by e-mail or SMS.

                Sorry for any inconvenience.

Xxxx | Online Customer Service Team | JB Hi-Fi Online

Apart from JB, other retailers might be giving them out but in my specific case at JB nope.
