The G is far better for gaming. Less smearing. Its meant to be the best VA panel you can buy for gaming on.
I passed on the F freesync version
Do you have a source for this? I’ve been trying to decide between the two forever.
The G version has its own chip to support gysnc quality.
If you Google reviews there are people that have had both the F and G versions and confirmed the G has no or significantly less smearing which VA panels are prone to.
There is no IPS panel on the market this size unless you buy an ultra wide which I do not like
So if I was considering a ViewSonic VX2758-2KP @ $469 vs this LG (not considering the bigger size) which would be better for Racing Sim gaming ?
@CY: If ignoring size, the Viewsonic will be better as IPS has considerably less ghosting / motion blur compared to VA.
@Soothsayer: Thanks … I guess I have to patiently wait for the price to come back down to pre covid ($399) :P
Is there anything else I should be looking at. Im looking for IPS <1ms MRPT
@CY: Will you be using the monitor only for sim racing or will it also be used as a primary monitor?
I'm in the same boat, looking for a second monitor which will only be used for sim racing (and occasional WFH). Everyone raves about Ultrawide for sim racing, it's an ideal alternative to the triple-monitor setups of the past, but a 1440p IPS UW is super expensive so I've been considering dropping down to a 1080p IPS UW such as LG 34GL750. So in theory it will get much higher FPS, UW FOV, and a fast IPS panel, but I'm still not sure about the pixel density which is equivalent to a 27" @ 1080p.
If the latter, I'd stick with the ViewSonic which is also my second choice - great value, all round option.
@Soothsayer: Yes only for sim racing.
Other sim racers find that 1080p is OK for 27" for sim racing. Theoretically the PPI is too low thus can see the pixles. But I have nothing to compare to ATM.
What's your view ?
@CY: I'm leaning towards the UW but I'm still on the fence really.
Have a look at YouTube reviews of 1080p 27" IPS monitors and see if you think it's passable during gaming. If you're currently at 1080p I'd say go for it, it's only if you've used 1440p for a while where you might be turned off IMO.
How does this https://www.centrecom.com.au/lg-32gk650f-b-32-qhd-gaming-mon… compare for gaming?
Isn't this monitor(deal one) just paying for gsync tax and usb hub? Rest of specs looks the same.
No see my comments above. It performs better in games
The 650 is freesync and doesn't have a USB hub or "HDR" that isn't really functional.
Thanks op, I grabbed one.
Originally waiting for 27GL850 However happy to get a larger screen over a slightly better panel technology.
Cheers
I recently picked up the LG 32GK650F instead for $549 from UMart.
Heres a spec comparison

and our boys at Hardware Unboxed gave it quite a recommendation.

NO regrets, stellar monitor for the price.
It's currently going for 519 at umart. Very tempted o get it since I missed on the HP omen yesterday.
NGL, Im a bit salty,
Mines barely a week old. :sadkek:
What's a good gaming monitor under $300?automatic tax write off
AOC 24G2 is fantastic. I have it and it’s great.
Thanks mate
ignore this
What're your thoughts on this monitor? I would like a 144hz monitor under $300 for tax purposes :)

Hi guys I recently bought a ViewSonic 32in WQHD IPS Frameless Monitor (VX3276-2K) ($350) which is a pretty decent monitor for the price, but it has some sort of a burnt pixel or mark - Umart are getting back to me about warranty.
I was kind of thinking of upgrading or changing it if I get the opportunity before EOFY. A lot of monitors are still out of stock, but wouldn't mind something better at gaming, maybe extra wide screen for productivity, and/or curved. IPS
good for general quality and vesa mounts/connectivity. I'm thinking QHD 2k and 144Hz are the max resolution I'd be after (RTX 2060S), so G-sync, HDR a bonus.
Looking at the following
Around $500 - $700 would be idea but maybe worth spending a bit more for extra wide.
Any more than $800 should probably be 4k, and more than that should include usb C.
Can claim price drops within a year with 28d.
Thanks,
Edit I've already got 2x Dell UltraSharp U2412M 24" which are great for productivity (Cad/Modelling) but probably won't use them once back at the office. The VX3276-2K is pretty good for an all rounder for the price. Takes a bit of getting used to the size, haven't tested for games. Extra wide would be handy for lots of windows etc but lose some height.
ok need to decide
The LG 34in UWFHD IPS 144hz Curved FreeSync Gaming Monitor (34GL750-B)
vs
DELL 32 Curved Gaming Monitor, Recon Blue, S3220DGF (Amazon has on special for $698, normally around $1k), the LG normal covid price.
Love dell quality the extra width may be better for gaming and productivity?
The F version has hdr (faux 400). It seems to have a better screen from some online comments. But I can’t find any actual reviews comparing them.
Hmmmm
https://www.gpucheck.com/compare-monitors/31.5-lg-32gk850f-v…
F has hdr and is a bit brighter. It is 144hz vs 165hz with the G version.
Also no VESA with the G variant (according to the above link)
F variant is $659 shipped from here: https://www.devicedeal.com.au/lg-ultragear-32gk850f-b-31.5-1…
