To everyone that think the accessories listed above here are overpriced, I just want to clarify that what I mentioned here is the retail price. Of course, you may get them cheaper on eBay, but you may not get a tax invoice, instant replacement for the accessory in case if it is faulty or broken and a 12 month warranty. Please walk into any retail stores in a shopping centre to see for yourself if the pricing I have mentioned here is incorrect or exaggerated.

    $45 for infinite drop outs

-A screen protector (valued at $10)

    Hahahahaa

    • Lol I think the screen protector is made of kevlar…strong enough to stop a bullet

    • Maybe he meant 10 KRW (Korean Won)?
      PS. 1 KRW = 0.0008 AUD

      • Well, the screen protector retails for $10 at JB Hifi, Harvey Norman and many other stores(including ours). I agree that you may get them cheaper on eBay, but I was talking about the retail price. Sorry if there were any confusions.

    • +40

      yes you would.

    • I would :)

  • +20

The drop out jokes are kind of getting old…voda had 1 flip out last year…it's completely fine now I haven't had any drop outs lately

    • +16

agree. i bet none of these people actually have voda and just jumping on the old wagon. get over it people lol.

      • +2

You two must live in a capital city. For the rest of us, Vodafone is a nogo, simple as that

        • +10

You must live in the country. The rest of us migrated to the cities during the industrial revolution.

        • +6

Actually I moved from the city to a regional area for work. But I'm not gonna go into it on some forum with you - I was just pointing out that for the rest of us who grow your food or mine your minerals or host your holidays, we can't use Vodafone. Enjoy the city.

        • +3

Hey dude, someone has to grow the food and milk the cows for us city folk!

        • +1

Don't take me seriously I was just having a laugh. I grew up in the country, sorry if I offended anyone.

    • +2

Yes, only one loooooong flip, lasting from about last October till at least April this year, when I ported out.
It could have been fixed by now, but I think you will find a lot of people with broken trust to Vodafone. It is something hard to gain and very easy to loose. However glad to hear that they are better now, will see in 1,5 years time when I start shopping around for a new contract again.

I was over seas for couple of years, and just came back to Sydney not long, and wish someone told me about the drop out on voda… i signed a deal with voda and about 10-15% of my calls just fails for no reason. vodafails big time.

  • +1

For the ozbargainer, the top three are the most expensive/useful ones to have. Even generic ones cost about half of the RRP given here. And believe me when I say get a good screen protector if you have to, or go commando. El cheapo ones are not worth it.

  • +2

I presume you mean choose any three of the accessories below, not 'you can choose any of the three accessories below'?

    • Lol well spotted~

    • +1

yes, you are right. Sorry, that was a typo :-)

  • -6

I don't see what's so good about this deal. You get a free GSII on a $45/Month Voda plan.

    It's a dupe too - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/52361

"$75" of freebies (equivalent to $10 - $15 worth on eBay) isn't a good deal IMO being that your locked into Voda for 24months.

    • -5

Of course, somebody negged me without providing an explanation…

    • +1

Well this deal is slightly better than the Voda direct deal, though I agree that the bonus items are cheap and not worth $75.

      Still not trusting Vodafone though.

      • Agreed. Also note that the Huawei Honor is coming out soon, and is rumoured to be priced below $300. Combine that with a $15/Month LC plan with a better network and no lock in contracts, and i see absolutely no point in being locked into a Voda 24 month contract.

  • I was told by voda that roaming calls are not included in cap.

    • it actually is included in the infinite cap. please see this
      http://www.vodafone.com.au/personal/services/coverage/nation…

      • Yeah my bad thanks. Just rang 3 Voda and was told Voda do not go onto roaming and 3 still roams with Telstra and hence if you are on the infinite plan with 3 then you can get charged extra for roaming.

        • I guess you got the wrong info again. from what I know, only internet is being charged extra for roaming and the calls are like normal, on roaming(except for prepaid).correct me if I am wrong.

        • hi mosknoxcity, I think we are saying the same thing.

3 offers the $45 infinite plan if you ask them, (I don't think it is advertised) and 3 does go into roaming if you temporarily have no reception and when you go into roaming you are charged extra, ie not part of the unlimited deal.

Voda does not go into roaming, so no extra fees.

They said Voda has better coverage than 3.

You can call Voda/3 to confirm.

        • hey abacus, I am advised by three that calls are not charged extra but internet is, on roaming. From what I understand, you have been advised that both calls and internet are charged extra, which is not correct. Only internet is charged extra on roaming. Hope this helps.

        • Hi mosknoxcity, I just rang 3 again, they have discontinued the 3 infinite plan recently (they did go onto roaming and used to incurr extra charges) so the outcome is that Voda phone calls don't go onto roaming, hence no extra charges.

I have no idea of internet data and I was referring to calls only in my posts.

Guys it has a 5.7/5 rating so it must be pretty good…

Getting so sick of people hating on everything they see from vodafone. Similarly COTD, ShoppingSquare and the latest hate of the month (think mln was the most recent?). We get it, you dont like these dealers, move on already and judge the deal on its merits and let people decide for themselves if they want to buy from them.

    • +1

People should be encouraged to express their views about certain products/companies/brands if they have legitimate concerns.

Just because you're aware of the issues doesn't mean every reader is.

      • I agree. I stated my honest opinion and get negged to death. No explanation.

I had a valid reason, too. There are many decent high-end phones that rival the GSII such as MIUI Phone and the upcoming Huawei Honor. Paired with a $15/Month LiveConnected plan you get -

        1. A better network (generally speaking) - Optus over Vodafone
        2. No lock in contract
        3. No Voda crapware
        4. The freedom to change network anytime

Let's say you pay $300 for the MIUI phone (Actual RRP) or $300 for the Honor. 300/24 = $12.50/Month
        $15/Month + $12.50 = $27.50/Month

I'm disappointed OzBargain, I though yous would have been smart enough to see this. Even if you bought a GSII outright for $550 on eBay you'd only be paying $37/Month in comparison to $45/Month, with the benefits listed above.

        • -3

It is still a bargain for those who want a galaxy s2. We don't care about your personal preference so stop rambling on..

        • I respect your views, but GSII is better(hardware wise at least) than The Huwaei Honor or the MIUI phone. Also, for $37 a month(for the GS II, as per your calculation), you would not be getting unlimited calls or text(I agree that not all people talk alot on the phone and may not need unlimited calls but for those who do, I reckon it still is a bargain).

  • what the #@!$ no voice mail retrieval ??
    hope galaxy downloads like iphone

    • there is a voice mail retrieval but it is limited to $45 a month. However, for an extra $5, you can get unlimited voice mail too on the same plan.

  • So where's the freebie? Are you telling me I need to sign a contract to get the "freebie"?

    • "Freebie" refers to additional things on top of the normal $45 Infinite Voda contract.

      • If you have to pay for something, it shouldn't be listed as a freebie.

    • sorry, I am new to this website and I wasn't too sure what a freebie was. I apologise for the incorrect posting and will endeavour to make sure that it does not happen again

      • -1

A freebie is a freebie, is it really that hard to understand the concept of something being free?

  • +1

It is still a bargain for those who want a galaxy s2. We don't care about your personal preference so stop rambling on..

So you're the one who's been negging all my posts…

And it's not a "personal preference", it's facts. did you even read my post?

    • +2

Lol I've been neutralising their negs but the most important point is - Who cares :P

What is it with the hissy fits lately? Smh

  • Thanks to all that came into our store to signup for the deal today(we were really busy for a Monday). I was just wondering if I could get some feedback from all the members here that have or that are looking at this ad, as to what would you love to get for free when you signup for a phone with us(like more than three accessories for every sign up, a different accessory etc…) so that I could pass it on to my area manager and get you the best deal possible.
