  • Hey mate. Read some reviews of these. Whilst they hold up well apparently the handle is ergonomically awkward and uncomfortable. Also, apparently they stack terribly compared to say the max tracks?

    • +2

Watch this if you want some info on generic vs branded.

For $250 savings for essentially the same product a small handle and stacking complaint doesn't seem to be a deal breaker if the performance is there.

I'd rather save the money, put it towards other gear or put it towards petrol for a trip etc.

    • I have not found the handle an issue at all, most times i just grab the board anywhere and put it under the tires.

Yes they stack a bit higher than the MaxTrax, but again not really an issue. Probably the only downside is most the mounting hardware to attach them to platform roof racks, spare tires, offroad campers etc are built to suit Maxtrax so may or may not fit the X-Bull.

But these are awesome recovery tracks, for the money you cant go wrong. For something you toss in the mud and drive over you dont need a high dollar brand name when these will get you out just the same.

  • when I first saw the pic I thought Lego! we sure Lego isn't getting into 4x4? lol

  • Got any in black?

What's the bargain? How much are they normally?

  • +1

Normal price is around $77 or $149 for a pair (a quick look at eBay sold listings for that)

Buy these in a bright colour. Why? During the Christmas holidays we were on the Ngkala Rocks bypass, sand was like powder. Had to stop for a fourby coming the other (I was nearly at the top of the hill!), and so needed tracks to recover. After recovery, we dug the tracks out and found a third - in exactly the same colour as the sand.

    • Can confirm you are correct
I'm actually looking at getting another set of these for my friend who sometimes tags along or I when I take their car out.
Was looking to get a cheap set for the back of their ute.

I have a art of maxtrax I paid $180 for brand new code stacking. And a set of these I paid over $100 for a couple years back.

They came with a carry bag which has since been lost somewhere.

And @slickaz mentions below, I've rubbed a few lugs off by getting a little heavy footed when I got lazy and didn't want to get back out and dig some more…

I keep two sets or 2's, 2 cheap ones, and 2 maxtraxs.
    why?
    1. the off chance i get stuck and need all 4 wheels out.
    2. invariably, some noob on the beach drives there without these and gets stuck with his girlfriend sitting in the car, fuming, while hes out trying to dig with his hands. and i have had to rescue many of them using my cheap ones. because every time you use these, maxtrax or not, the knobs rub off a little.

    • Last winter i had to help recover an inexperienced guy in the snow in a ditch beside the dirt road. I had 2 X-Bulls and another passer by had 2 Maxtrax so we threw them under all wheels.

The guy took off and started spinning the wheels. You could see the colour start to drain from the Matrax guys face lol. I like having cheap recovery tracks.

  • Good price, thanks OP! Was looking for that brand and was getting closer to buy at 75$…

  • thanks, ordered.

    Recieved this email late tonight…

    Dear Customer,

    Good day!

Thank you for shopping in my store.

Since this items is too big, we need to send this package by Toll.

Sorry to tell you when I submit your order, our system limit us,that the postcode 6330 belongs to Toll Mine black list and our WINIT warehouse sign a contract with Toll which includes that our couriers cant send to these places.

Do you have other address (near you or your friend address) which belongs to different postcode?I can help you check if it can be delivery.

    Thank you for choose us!

    Waiting for your reply.

    Regards
    Owen.

There is literally a toll depot a stone throw away from me in town.

This is now the the third eBay item I've purchased that's had offered free shipping, for it to have the same kind of response. (The last was a fold up item that packed down quite small)
They had no-issue doing the sale and offering shipping on my order…till after some messages backwards and fwds, they said they could deliver to me if I paid more money. I refused and never received my order.

The other ironic thing is…I've had 2 lots of these delivered to me, in two other orders, to the same address.
(As per my post above,I still have two, I gave one set away already)

I bought two lots last night, for 10% off the second pair, for $110 in total.

    • Hi mate,
I will let the seller contact the logistic company to see if they have anything they can do, sorry about the bad experience.

        • Hi mate,

          • @angusmao: Just had an email informing me it is being sent…to my home address.
