Hi
Self watering pots are designed in a way to keep a reservoir of water on the bottom of the pot and releases moisture to the soil as it is needed.
Thank You for your interest. They were being funny
First time someone's used that word to describe jv.
Ahh LOL silly me
you must be fun at parties
I ordered toilet paper from you and my order was cancelled without any notice , I then contacted your team to ask why and no one responded .

You had purchased 3 packs of toilet paper and our terms then was 1 Packet per order to make it fair for all our customers.
I had placed a comment explaining this and you where welcome to repurchase the 1 packet of toilet paper..

I advised you I would accept your order again with the correct postage option
Buy a 10L bucket for $1.
Drill a hole in the side about one inch from the bottom.
Fill the bucket to just past one inch with a coarse medium such as gravel.
This is known as a sub-irrigated planter. It was invented in the 1950s.
The $10 pot is better because:
- More durable (thickness & UV resist. )
- Better aesthetics
- Less anaerobic environment and
associated issues - Substrate change easier
Thank you for explaining it better than I.
CheersSince you seem to know something about this, can you explain how the self watering part works? How does it "release water to the soil" gradually without making it so soggy that the plant develops mold/rot issues in the roots?
Parent said that you'd put an inch of gravel in the bottom…. is that what you'd do with this pot, too? (The illustration on the site seems to show a baseplate with a few holes in it, inside the bottom of the pot).
I'm really not understanding how the water gets from the bottom where it's somehow not contributing to root rot, to the plant.
On the bottom of the black plate it has 5 small feet that go all the way down to the bottom of the pot.
This section also gets filled with soil.
As the soil dries up it draws the water uf the feet to the roots.
I have been using these pots myself for the last 2 years and they work really well on my veggies and fruit trees.

It's "self watering"….
(If you ignore the part where you have to pour water in every few days. lol)
