    Great for maintaining bath temperature.

Hardest part might be finding a big enough bag to fit a whole cow.

      • +5

Ouch. I realise I'm a little husky because of the lockdown and all but a cow.

        You heart my feelings.

And where can I find this bag.

        • Big roll of glad wrap from costco and add garlic, blocks of butter and herbs as you go round and round

          • @umadbrahhhh: Garlic and butter?

Sounds like a good detox soak.

    • Hah that is a fcking brilliant idea :D

Seems to be available at Amazon AU also for the same price for those that might prefer.

I have the older one. It's fantastic. But you don't need the top of the line model, just get the cheapest and you'll still get the same results.

Pretty much. Unless you're cooking for a restaurant, catering or a seriously big party, this isn't any better than the basic models.

I am using the previous gen basic model as advertised here a few days ago. I use it in a 40l bath and it doesn't even struggle. A 40l bath cooks for a party of 12.

      • Agree, I use the Nano for everyday cooks (supports BlueTooth, but I just use it manually) and takes up less room in the container. (Downside is no WiFi and it's not height adjustable)

I use the old model 900w from the recent ~$130 Amazon deal for long cooks 24+ (WiFi allows you to monitor remotely, if we ever get out).
For someone starting out, I would recommend the Nano. Kogan often have different deals.

But yes, this pro model is not really for home cooks.

    • Yeah. But I always wanted a Pro because I reckon it looks way better! :)

Now I can cook one egg to 63 degrees and one egg to 65 degrees at the same time! :)

      • What witchcraft is that?!

  • Probably depends on the water temp you are trying to keep up and how long you are cooking etc. I'm guessing but it probably does put additional wear & tear on the unit.

If I was looking to buy this then I'd look at buying 2x of a cheaper model. You could use them together if you wanted to cook for a large number of people, then you'd also have the ability to have multiple items cooking at different temperatures

** edit I just looked at the pricing for the cheaper models, I swear they were previously available for $100-150 on sale I guess the lower value of the AUD has changed that a bit.

  • Looks like a bike pump

    • i have a considerably dirtier mind than that.

Just so people understand. The main difference between this and the normal one is the water capacity. This one has 100L capacity. Thats what its for. Its really aimed at commercial use. It wont cook your food better.

If you don't need commercial use, get the standard one and save the money.

    • Or buy 2 of the older model so you can cook 2 dishes at the same time or use them in the same bath to boost capacity.

    • Or save even more money and get the Inkbird which is an arguable better unit for only $97 delivered - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1000W-INKBIRD-WIFI-Sous-Vide-Pre…

Plenty of discussion around brands in the previous Inkbird and Anova deals on here.

      • I like how the different steak cooking comparisons is the same picture with varying degrees of colour saturation.

    • Just so people understand part 2 : This one drop tested and IPX-7 rated, increased water flow and more power(1800 Watts ). I'm sticking to my wifi+bluetooth model, this is a good price for the Pro

      • plus brushless motor
