        Yep. Have been playing this game since its predecessor's championship manager 96/97. I dont buy every season and don't get addicted to it these days as much as I used to but certainly have spent many hours in past campaigns bringing teams up from the lowest divisions and winning every trophy, love my journeyman games.

    What's the main changes with each year in this?

    I used to Play premier manager. Started as Stafford rangers.

      This series is infamous for not really adding much between iterations. You are largely paying for a database update of which members of the community provide for free on previous versions of the game. I usually buy every 2-3 years. The game tends to go through a few years of poor reviews and then it will release one season with high reviews, that's when I buy.

        Whilst much of what you say is correct, the comment about going through years of poor reviews, interspersed with one decent one is not. The FM (and previously CM) series tends to score very consistently year after year, mainly since your previous comment about incremental evolution rather than revolution of the game engine is more accurate. According to Metacritic - the current and the last ten versions achieved the following average scores, most of which don't shift by more than a few percentage points year on year;

        Familiarity tends to be the dictator of which games stand out from the crowd within any individual's collections. Once you sink your teeth into it, many players get very invested in particular versions and saved games. Apparently, I've been playing my current FM12 savegame for 98 Days, 7 hours, 23 minutes since I started it off with Aston Villa on 3rd December 2011. That's actually a little bit sad and my wife and daughter tend not to like it very much - assuming that is in fact their real names.

        As for the scouting, yes community members do contribute, but do the 900+ scouts around the world who contribute to the unparalleled detail of the database and aftermarket content available for download. The level of detail is breathtaking and it is very immersive, so the warnings about it being the gaming worlds worst time thief are 100% accurate.

    I have sunk over 200 hours into this game, quite fun. I had the Fm17 version that I don't quite get into but gave it another try and I'm into it.

    How does 2020 rank to 2019? First year that I've missed since 2014. Pondering whether to just skip this year assuming it's relatively minor changes similar to previous years?
