Yes, if you only fill it with e.g. 5gr salt
Basically half price, nice find OP and wish it were only id buy.
Does anyone know how they go long term? All my grinders tend to get rusty
Have them for a while, and they're pretty good. No signs of rust, etc.
HOWEVER, do note that they use 6 AAA batteries each, and these don't last for more than a couple of months on a daily use.
I never got the point of these. Why wouldn't you just buy a normal grinder? I've seen some people use them and it takes ages to get the salt/pepper out and it just looks stupid. Solving a problem that never existed (with the exception of people with arthritis/other disability it could be helpful, but for most people I never got the appeal).
Hi, rheumatoid arthritis here. Pre ground pepper is crap. Cant grip and twist any more without excessive pain or dropping something.
Agreed, for people with arthritis/elderly/others this makes sense, as I mentioned. Otherwise it's a gimmick.
Actually that's what I'll say the next time I see someone using it. "Oh, I didn't realise you had arthritis" when I know that they don't.
One handed operation.
I suppose you could say the same about a TV remote rather than getting up and waking 2m to change the volume.
It’s all about convenience.
Can you use it as a regular manual grinder as well? Or is it powered-grinding only?
Powered only
anyone use this for 'herbs'?
I saw this at Auburn store this morning too! But pretty sure I saw the price tag as clearance for $20. I remember because I had a $20 gift voucher to use and was browsing the aisles to see what I could use it for without having to pay the difference…
Or maybe I didn’t look at the price tag properly. An Alternative Russell Hobbs Salt & Pepper Mills $29.00 From The Goodguys

Batteries last a long time in these
I saw one of these on special at Bunnings years ago. It was a skin, but can’t recall which mobs batteries it used
Can it grind measured amounts e.g. 5gr of salt?
