  • have seen some reviews that say this game is not that good, why has it become so popular?

    • +1

I played it for around 2hrs today, so much tasks to make mama happy lol.. I think the reviewers are expecting a huge revamp vs the Wii version or somthing, when really it's kinda the same game just few tweaks etc.. I got it so I can keep it in my collection and my niece likes it can't really just base it on reviews from IGN

    • +1

Because the IP owner said the developer didn't have permission to release the game and had it pulled from the eShop.

It's okay Mama will fix it lol

      • +1

They specifically said they weren't happy with the quality so it's not just the reviewers…

        • They could always release updates.. I mean when I launched it had a 10min update first up.. Game play for me was fine

      • +3

Read a bit about it after seeing your comment. IP owner (Office Create) is suing the publisher (Planet Entertainment). IP owner thinks it hasn't met their standards and publisher thinks that it is within their rights to release the game.

        • Well it's helped get Cooking Mama get the most attention it's had since the first DS game.

It's pretty trash. I played the wii game too. Great for toddlers though

      • At least in my world I now have 6 Days to return to EB Games for change of mind, I looked on Ebay and it's flooded with people trying to onsell there copies lol I'll think it over

        • as long as you get your money's worth, who cares? the game just felt half baked

          • @belongsinforums: true true, sorry you had me at buyers remorse, the game itself is what it is, but If I do return it I think I'll get mario maker 2

            • @Gomo: Don't let other people's opinions ruin your game. If you had fun and enjoyed it thats the most important thing.

              • @azngamer: I ended up returning it anyway as I didn't see the game being played for replay value as much as I thought I would, ended up getting mario maker 2 :) EB Games were happy to refund the purchase of cooking mama for me

    • Call it an investment for a potentially rare game down the line lol

I understand the story behind this but this is RRP pricing…not a bargain. The game is also absolute garbage

  • +3

$14.95 postage when it could be sent for $2.20. Profiteering on freight much, EB Games?

    • Just added a different switch game to cart and was $5.95. Is this how they cash in when they can’t sell for more than rrp?

      • +1

Not sure these days but the higher price shipping used to mean they were shipping it from a EB games store anywhere around the country rather than the warehouse.

    • Who would have thought that a business as scummy as EB Games would be trying to even profit from shipping costs?

  • +1

I agree with what's been said regarding it not being a bargain at RRP.

On the other hand, Australia is one of the few countries where physical copies were plentiful. After the news came out, "collectors" snapped up all the remaining copies, as it was likely no future copies would be sold.

I assume that's still the case and EB are just offloading the last of the copies they have.
