Yeah I was just going to buy one game, but ended up buying more to save that money on shipping ahaha.

Hang on a minute. I was just about to make a snidey/mocking comment about the first board game "Maracaibo" being $97 at full price.

But I've just realised… that's the discounted price????!!! RRP is $150????

What exactly do you get in the box for $150? Seems crazy to me?

    • Plenty of games are over $100. Most have some nice pieces, but others are just a cash grab.

Gloomhaven is 250 RRP. You can sometimes get it for 150. That said, it's a very long game. There is a miniature for each playerable character (17 minis). Plenty of map and cards and weighs nearly 10kg. Definitely worth it.

Kingdom Death: monster is a "boutique board game" and it has some pretty insane miniatures that you have to put together. It will set you back 400USD.

        Yep, +1 to Gloomhaven!

The follow-up Frosthaven just got funded on Kickstarter and raised AU$20 million!

        Of course I insta-backed it. :D

        • Nice! I backed frosthaven too. First thing I backed on kickstarter. Hopefully we can finish gloomhaven before it comes out in March next year

    • Maracaibo is a prolific game designed by the infamous Alex Pfister (who also designed Great Western Trail, Isle of Skye, Mombasa, Broom Service), so itself is almost worth the price tag.

The game is also a legacy game, which normally they are around $90+ too.
Or can be played standalone solo or up to 4-players.

Overall, it is well worth it around $150.
Many of my friends already bought it around that price. So GUF's sale is truly special. Should have gotten them here!

    Trismegistus for $54 looks cheap

Don't forget Quacks of Quedlinburg for $63.99: https://guf.com.au/collections/mega-35-to-44-off/products/th…

Despite the funny name, this is definitely my favourite board game to introduce non-board gamers to as a gateway game.

Have a look at this amazing review from shut up and sit down if you're not convinced: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03eoXKp7L7M

    • None left of this one :(

      • Yeah there were around 20 when I bought it. Sold out quick
