Do these have an expiry date?

    • +1

All good, quick google search told me.

Each Nespresso capsule is hermetically sealed to protect the coffee from light, oxygen and moisture, in order to maintain the coffee at its absolute best. As a result, the coffee in the capsule is kept fresh for at least a year after production. You can test the freshness of a capsule by gently pressing the silver membrane. If it offers resistance, the capsule can still be used.

Probably, so don't horde.. I probably won't buy more than 1 months worth. (your one month worth would be different from mine) and also allow the deal to be shared around.

    Ya lor

  • +6

I wish my machine would hurry up and come so that I can see which pods I like best.

    • +2

Hoping the machine comes next week prior to Mothers Day. Assume it will since it was a "Mothers Day" promo. I'll wait for the machine before purchasing, since these capsules only fit the Philips Machine.

The Ristretto XXL is the best of the bunch but seeing their Amazon reviews, sounds like these might have a shorter shelf life than we'd like

    • +3

Maybe we can start a pod trade thread, once we've all received them and determined which pod we prefer! (Assuming everyone bought some of each pod like I did!) :)

      • Yeah I ended up with
        3 x Double Barista Selection
        4 x Double Supremo
        2 x Double Ristretto

    • Yeah i think if this is sent via Australia Post then that promo should have gone live about a week prior to what it did - I've had an Australia Post package sitting for 8 days without getting another scan….going to be touch and go! Also wonder where the distribution centre is for them…

Just got confirmation my Coffee Machine and Pods from the L’OR Mother’s Day deal has been shipped.

"only fits in the Philips/L'OR Coffee machine"

    Ok I am out

    • +2

Lol well it's their special double shot range that other brands don't do so I couldnt imagine itd fit any other brand

    • Ok

  • OP, was there a free L’OR machine for Mother’s Day?

How does this compare with a Nespresso or Aldi pod machine?

  • Had $26 left on my Hardly Normal Gift Card so brought 6 boxes. I have the machine at home. Thanks OP!

    • Where did you bring them to?

      • +1

I would like to sell an “r” thanks! Haha
Or you could say I bought 6 boxes and brought them to my house!

  • +4

Heads up for those who have purchased. I just got to the store to collect mine and noticed on the way out that ALL boxes had best before dates of 12/19 to 02/20…. took them back in and was offered a refund or 4 more boxes for free.

    • +1

Prob still good for a month or so, but you can find pods for 35-50c fresh.

    • Thanks for the heads up. Typical Harvey Norman to sell expired stuff rather than throw it away, even though it's against the law.

      • What can we do if they are delivered and are expired?

Would the store say we swapped them for oldies?

        • IANAL, but your consumer protections should still apply, regardless of whether you're buying in store or online.

          • In the first instance I'd hit up HN themselves to complain and I'd expect a refund would be forthcoming. If they're trying to flog off expired goods knowingly, it's a pretty unscrupulous tactic as most customers wouldn't bother with the hassle of returning - a fact they'd be more than aware of.

          • If the issue remains unresolved after you've shown an effort to reach out, I'd contact Fair Trading or your relevant consumer council to escalate. You must ensure you keep a clear record of correspondence with HN, with dates, what was agreed, and preferably names.

          • Finally, buy using your credit card so you can always claim a chargeback through them. They will typically give you the money themselves. It then becomes the credit card company's problem, who will fight with the store to get the money back.

In fact, even if you bought them in store, Harvey Norman could claim that you'd swapped them for oldies so it doesn't actually change the situation appreciably.

          • @clem: I bought six boxes, all now delivered and all well past there best before date which were all Nov/Dec 2019. Would think that HN should say this when selling, a little dodgy in my opinion.

It doesn't appear that selling a product with a date past its best before is illegal accord to food standard Australia, although a date past for a used by date obviously would be.

      which store?

    • +6

They’re a double shot. You can literally make 2 coffees with them.

    • +6

It's a deal because we can read the title and description

      • I reckon he is just trolling. How can you get 2 things wrong in the one post.

One being the pricing of $4.99 vs $11.

And then comparing a different product to the XXL pods.

    • +3

These are Double shot capsules, a pack is equivalent to 20 standard capsules and $4.99 = 25 cents for a standard shot.

For people who like large cups/mugs and prefer stronger coffee a Double dose/shot/standard capsule is good.

Standard price for single shot capsules is approx $6.00 for pack of ten, so costs $1.20 per Double shot drink.

The single shot capsules are occasionally on special at Colesworth for $4.50 per pack of ten (90c per Double shot).

This is a good deal @ 50c per Double shot coffee!!
      Thanks OP.

  • My pods came out of date 11/19.they are being replaced tonight thanks to a call from a girl from one of their stores.

    • did they call you out of the blue or you called/communicated them first?

      • I went to their useless chat, had no reply for over a day so I sent them an email and got a reply within 2hrs..girl was very nice and apologetic and sent a colleague to deliver on her way home last night.

  • My boxes had a BB date of Feb 2020. I did the spring test and it bounced back. Also tastes fine so still a good bargain to me!

  • I actually think they realise they are out of date because none of my order has been posted and it’s been a while now.

  • I have received my first boxes today, after ordering on the 1/5/2020.

Expiry dates are 12/11/2020 and 07/01/2020 so they are fresh packets.
