Doesn't say Arabica, so there would be some Robusta in there.

Darkish roast, so traditional bitter coffee flavour. I would think a single origin Aldi would be better and fresher, which apparently comes down to hygiene now.

    • I sometimes cut a good roast with nasty stuff like this, maybe 5:1, just to get a little extra kick from an otherwise too smooth coffee. A 1kg bag goes a long way.

  • I usually get medium roast from Coles at $15 a bag. It’s pretty decent and roasted in Mellbourne.

"Coles Urban Coffee Culture Medium Roast Beans"? How do you like it?
I was in my Coles last week, there was nothing under $30 on the shelf…

Sometimes they can be hard to find - particularly in the smaller stores. I go for the $15 1kg Strong beans myself.

        • I’m in the Shire and between Engadine, Sutherland and Miranda I always find them. I buy one bag at the time and put in a container.

      • It’s my favourite. I like it more than the Aldi one (which is more expensive I l believe and also no flybuys). I own an automatic Philips and medium roast are better for it . Dark roast isn’t recommended as it can clog the machine.

  • Hey folks I am also getting into coffee and looking for a budget starting machine that can make coffee end to end, starting from beans grinding to a cup of cappuccino or flat white. Can I get some suggestions

    • Facebook marketplace, pick something that looks fancy

Well, after having seen the rest on construction sites. The Breville Barista Express seems to be the one we cannot kill. On special under $500 occasionally and it does it all….. Except load the water and Beans and clean its Undies when it 'Flashes' you. Some Men are lazy Pigs but you get that, I guess.
